I have too many passions to be able to commit to any one of them, but even though I want to commit to one, I can't possibly choose.

Free time is less 'free', and more 'extensive but highly regulated by various external sources' time.

That's cool. This has helped me think of a good serial, involving you and humans of 1960's Earth.

I like how you've instantly gone the route away from typical human companions and embraced the non-visual side that is our advantage so we can pull off a Mass Effect style roleplay.

Accepted, I will pardon the 'meh' bio. Seems like an interesting character.
Before the shutdown of the old Guild I had this little idea growing into the seeds of existence, but I never got it off the ground.

Basically, if you have ever seen Classic Doctor Who before (Doctor's 1-7) - then you will be familiar with the format of serials, a singular Doctor Who story comprised of 1 - 14 episodes. This allows for introductions of serial characters, characters that are only involved with one particular serial - and the extended length of time compared to New Who episodes allows for more character development and scenes. There are on average about 4-8 serials for series.

Companions also are about, that are commonly introduced as serial characters but are then taken on from 3 serials to even several series if they have room for development or are popular (for example Jamie McCrimmon, Sarah Jane Smith and Ace.)

And then there is the Doctor, whom, when he would be killed or die, can regenerate into a new body with a new personality, or in our case from one roleplayer to another. One incarnation sticks around for 2 - 7 series.

So, my idea is to roleplay our own version of the tale, starting with a First Doctor and then progressing through roleplayers playing serial characters and companions and the Doctor. For convenience sake the first place the Doctor needs to land after escaping from Gallifrey is 1960's England so we can have a police box as the (not yet named) TARDIS. And we could either hold a serial or part of one there while the Chameleon Circuit breaks, (as the First Doctor and Susan did while she attended school - later for the rest of the serial heading back to caveman times.)

Because it was my idea, I would reserve the spot of the First Doctor for myself, but that leaves spaces open for 1-3 companions initially, or some being introduced a few serials later.

Also, I need serial characters for the beginning serial, the number being arranged based on the story.

[Created the actual thread before the IC, whoopsies.]

The rules are:

1: Only have one character per serial, whether it be a serial character, a companion or Doctor.
2: After a serial has ended and thus your serial character also, you can then apply for one of the other two options, and vice versa.
3: Posts that include interaction between any characters will not be conversed as one liner speech quotes, but written together on http://titanpad.com/ .
4: Serial characters include inhabitants of visited planet, monsters / the threat that the serial will need solving.
5: No short posts, always include SsPS, third person roleplaying, and I don't mind language but keep it in context with character. Always write in the third person and in the past tense, to keep in sync with other players.
6: Ideas for anything will always be taken into account, and please let us decide as a community a serial topic before you apply with your own.
7: Enjoy!

Applying for Serial Character or Companion:

The Doctor's app will be posted when it is needed.

OK, to begin, please put ideas for a first serial. We will be starting just after the Doctor escapes from Gallifrey and steals a TARDIS (with or without companions) and lands on Earth in the 1960's, disguising as a police box.

If a companion wants to be a Time Lord / Lady or a Gallifreyan citizen, please apply right away, if not, wait until the serial has been decided before applying.
Enough of this nonsense. I have endured these foolish attempts at threats for too long now.

All of you, leave the thread at once.

I know, but I saw people could post in news so #yolo deal with it.
Perhaps you should recheck who I am, and then swear your loyalty to me instead.
Hi, I am Eru Ilúvatar, or here Eru Iluvatar, because the Guild dislikes the accents.

Formerly known as SlenderWoman, and before that MattzLadd, I have taken up the name of the Creator as Tolkien saw Him.

Greetings to all new and old.

Any way to find old threads from before the shutdown, and bring them back?

Or even access a cached copy of the old site?
