I think she would drop the dagger, slip her rapier to her free hand, and reach out with the gauntlet hand to try grappling octopus B. And it was a Nat 20, flavor wise, I'll let you decide what and how things happen. But if not, then I'll think about it in my post.

If its okay, Caeda hex gave the Octopus B disadvantage on strength skill checks and will try to grapple and prevent it from leaving. Would that be okay as I think grappling is an attack action?

To about clarify about the INT mod bonus to a skill of your choice. Based on the INT mod, you can add the proficiency bonus to that new skill, or add it again to a skill you are already proficient in. You can do this an x number of times based on the INT mod. Since your characters are currently level 2, your proficiency bonus is +2. Adding this bonus to an already proficient skill is called giving it "expertise" and can only be done once.

So if you INT mod is 2, than you can choose two skills to become proficient, or if the character is already proficient in a skill, they can expertise in it.

Does that help clarify how this works for the INT mod skills/language bonus?

Okay with there being the 5th person showing interest, I'm going to say that for now, I won't be accepting any more characters to join. There is a possibility that more could hop on, but a party of 5 characters is the most that I can handle for now.

Ora! I've come to bring the glory and blessings! Time for the shoe to be on the other foot, and with that being said, I have come bringing gifts. Behold! My CS. Subject to change of course, with one thing in particular: Normally Eldritch Knights must pick one Evocation and one Abjuration spell upon becoming an Eldritch Knight. Considering they only come in knowing three spells, that means only one spell they choose can be of any of their choosing. Thematically I'm sure it makes sense, but personally I would like it if I could simply choose any Wizard Spell available for my level, regardless of what school they belong to. If you'll allow me, my three spells would likely be Feather Fall, Find Familiar, and Healing Elixir.

Additionally, I have questions about how you handle the melee cantrips (Booming Blade and Green-Flame Blade) with reach weapons such as my glaive. Basically, can I hit someone with my Booming Blade cantrip at 10 ft (Glaive range) instead of 5 ft (Booming Blade range)? I can easily invest a feat (Spell Sniper) to extend the range if I cannot hit with booming blade at 10 ft, though I do consider such limitations arbitrary. Regardless, I hope to be able to join.

Mechanics:
The 1st level spells and up, I very much would like to keep to what is in the source. But just like how the rogue arcane trickster that can use enchantment and illusion, and sometimes choose from anything from the wizard spell list, I will allow you the choose two schools of magic that you feel best fit and then still have the occasional spell from any school at those specified levels. So just let me what two schools of magic you choose. For the question about the cantrip, don't worry about it as I feel the spell's reach should be based on the weapon's reach, so you're good to use them if you choose to.

Character:
Now for questions about Orchid. Can you please tell me who are the Luna Seas that is mentioned in her backstory? Is there a particular reason why her appearance is like how it is, or are you leaving that for me to decide if there is a significant to it or not (PM me if you want to talk else where about it)? And as I have already asked about previous characters here, what is Orchid's goal(s) and why she ventures out? At the end of the backstory, it is mentioned that she became a strong in her own right through, physical and mentally, and seeks the thirst for knowledge. But are there any specifics, interests in anything in particular topics, or anything in general. I did notice that she has a background as a anthropologist, so is she interested in societies and cultures and their development?

As Lucius brought up the questions of spells, I do want to state this to those who are spellcasters. I an quite open to re flavoring of existing spells and the creation of new spells. But please just let me know ahead of time so we can discuss the change or creation of the spell so it can determine if it can be allowed or not.

Now that I got some time to relax and now sit down and think here, I have a few questions. These are general questions to everyone participating and right below that list are more specific to you players. Also I'm planning to make and move to an official thread where we can start. Just want to finish a bit of fleshing the world out and showing in on the first post in case there are any back story things that you may want to edit based on how the world is. But for now, I hope these questions help to pass the time for the official start and get a better sense of our characters :D

General Questions:

• What are your character's likes and dislikes? A minimum of two things is good enough.
• Now that we have a bit more people, does anyone feel their character may know another character or was traveling with them before being taken?
• Before or during your character began venturing out into the world, do you feel there were any enemies or allies made? This does not need an answer, but if you feel that there is, you can mention here or PM.
• Although I am still working on the summary of the major places of the world, are there any questions that you have about the world?

You can start on the Azzen's character sheet, but I do have a it of a question. For Azzen, he was raised as a noble, family lost their high social status, and with his personal talent, became a jester. But I'm still curious of what is Azzen's goal after he became this kind of bard? What made him seek to venture out? There is already the ideal mentioned, but does Azzen already know exactly what he wants to make something of himself or is this something he is still thinking about?

For the resilient feat that Aron has, what ability score did you increase? I'm still seeing two saving throws being proficient, unless it was one of them?

Seeing as you have a feat for Angus, I'm guessing you chose the human variant. But what skill did you choose to be proficient as I'm only see the 4 skill proficiency that you would get from the class and background? The same for the extra proficiency or language from the INT mod. Also I was curious of Angus's age as you mentioned "Though all are expected to return to the clan at the age of 30 to settle down, contribute to the clan, and help create and raise the next generation." So I was curious where he was on that timeline and if commit to this tradition of returning or more committed to slaying Faerguaine and reclaim the stolen relic of the Whispering Claymore?

For the two extra skill proficiency or languages from the INT mod, what did you spend them on as I'm having trouble seeing where they were spent? Also during the years that Najila was in Ralim's Cosmological Sanctum, would there be any things that she would be curious or have some interest about? Although she was not allowed to go into some rooms, she could still hear about them. Also, were there any questions that you feel, as player or character, that you feel like asking about Ralim as Najila has been with him for years and sure there may be questions, especially the whole situation that changed her life when she was 6 years old.

I'm still okay with an additional player jumping in with a character. And just when I thought the party was going to be all human. For my experience when playing D&D, having a human in a party is a rare sight for me. But if you can, start with the brief character sheet in the first post and place it here, than you can start filling out the character sheet as I think of questions about the chracter.

Okay sounds good, if anything, I was glad that you chose fighter as your character's class as its a good one to start with if someone is new to D&D 5e. Also Banneret seems cool as while you attack, you can use your ability to support your party members. which go well with how you described Aron.

As a reminder that when wearing chain mail armor, you will always have disadvantage with stealth rolls. This is the same for padded, scale mail, half plate, ring mail, splint, and plate armor. Also where did you make the rolls for Aron's ability scores? I would prefer rolls on the site's dice roller, but if you can show me where you rolled them with a time stamp, that would be fine. And again, you can roll 2 sets of 6 4d6s and choose one of those sets.

Caeda looked at how Ashbrand was holding against the octopus against him and seemed to be able to handle it for the moment. But after seeing Azure being restrained and more likely to be dragged off the ship, Caeda followed Vehafor's lead and charged ahead to prevent such a thing from there. But as she arrived, both strikes from her rapier and dagger missed the octopus as she tried to not accidentally injure Azure. Looking back to see Ashbrand seeming to have some handle, Caeda stood her ground in hopes to at least prevent the octopus from fleeing with Azure.

For the dueling bonus from the fighting style, make sure to add the +2 bonus to damage roll, not the attack roll. But adding a +2 to the damage field should be enough, just note that the attack also has dueling that adds extra damage.

But currently I am unable to see that character sheet as it says "It might not exist, or you might not have permission to view it." By any chance @rush99999, are you familiar with this and know how to resolve it so we can view the character sheet?

I will probably find out the subclass that you chose once I am able to view the character sheet, but still, what made you decide to choose that subclass for Aron?

Having Faerguaine make the people question the reputation of Clan MacAlister's wisdom and intelligence is still fine with me. About the brief summary of Dachaigh, sure. As mentioned before, I'm still working on the world and still open to ideas. So if you have any more ideas Dachaigh, then please let me know.

Ralim would communication would vary. Initially he was more frequent asking ready to return with any stories or interesting items, but after Najila got a better hold of herself in the material plane, Ralim would likely get the hint that he may be asking too much. It would perhaps be at this that point that he bestows to her the Book of Clouds where there exists a divider where she can write how her travels in the material plane is going, which would satisfy him. But he may reach out around every other week to ask her of something. These things simply being a simple question or some assistance with something somewhere.

For how he communicates, it would be through the Books of Clouds. Just like how Najila can send stories of her travels, he can send her of things mentioned in the previous paragraph. She would know of when he sent such message when the nice sky blue thin divider fabric bowels on its own.
