I’m down for two and three. Two might be more effort, so it also depends on everyone else. I’m less busy-ish, but everything is quite hectic on my end. I actually had that response that I posted ever since the first wave of our starters were posted. So yeah, it just all depends.
The music was muffled, but still plain as day from the dressing room. The dancers switched into their raunchy outfits with practiced ease. Some chose to look jarringly different from their usual selves (with the aid of makeup), but others didn't care as much. One Sirpetes girl was not immune to the allure of being remembered, both inside this job and her other one. Dreadlocks of hair were, for once, tamed. Soft black curls framed caramel-colored skin, bouncing as the girl shifted the crimson fabric of her 'work uniform'. The golden bangles on her bare ankles were adjusted for maximum comfort. Nidia's lips quirked in amusement, eyes still trained on perfecting her outfit. "Familiar in a good way or a bad way?" she teased. "You know how much I hate working with handsier clients. But, unfortunately, they do tend to bring in the best info. And they pay well." Her breath left her in a pouty sigh at the reminder of some of the 'private dances' she had been requested for, but she immediately perked up at the veiled praise of another dancer. 'I am good at finding bounties, aren't I,' she thought with a prideful tone. She let out a small chuckle. "The help is appreciated, however better-skilled I might be at my other job. Those 10000 chits sound nice, though...I'll be sure to follow up with it after I'm done wheedling extra tidbits of information tonight."
Nidia turned her attention away from her outfit and watched as the holoscreen appeared, revealing an ugly brute of a Trennel. She absentmindedly swapped out her piercings for flashier ones as she read the info, eyes scanning for the most minute details. Lithe fingers organized and compressed the data, swiping it to a disguised databand on her wrist. Her acid green eyes held their usual mischievous sparkle. With a lopsided grin, she swerved her head back to the one co-worker she would undoubtedly refer to as a friend. "Ylis, darling, you know I only work my body when it benefits me. Which isn't often. Besides, not everyone can be as naturally talented as you dear. So I, of course, would prefer to stick to both my literal and figurative guns."
She gracefully plopped herself into the empty space beside him, playfully mimicking his pose. A breathy laugh escaped her. With sarcasm lacing her words, she teased the Orvon. "Yes, thank you so much for your concern Lissy, I'm sure I'll certainly get beaten to a pulp by that terrifying thug. Because I most definitely haven't dealt with larger criminals before. I'll be absolutely," her hand raised to her chest dramatically. "Positively," her hand grasped her neck. "Helpless." The ornately painted nails of the Sirpetes glinted as her hand fanned her in a mock gesture of being overwhelmed. She leaned back casually, crossing her arms and tilting her chin up in a show of self-assuredness. "Trennels are famed for their lack of duplicity, integrity, and above all: intellect. That last one is reserved for higher-ups. And their skin looks tough, but I doubt it'll be a match for my acid. So, yeah, I can take this bounty. I'm sure it'll be a piece of cake."
As she said that last bit, a soft noise sounded in the dressing room signaling that it was time for the dancers to switch out. Nidia jumped quickly on her feet, shooting a smirk at the Orvon. "Looks like that's our cue. Let's get this over with, shall we?"
The Sirpetes practically bounced on the balls of her feet as they made their way to the stage. Some dancers exchanged quick pleasantries with the last shift before trudging on. The neon lights flashed here and there, with the usual haze in the air. The faintest shimmer from the force field was visible, although probably more noticeable to a more trained eye. All the strobing lights glanced pleasingly off the golden bangles of the dancers as they moved. Acid green eyes scanned the crowd for those familiar faces Ylis had mentioned.
Mi Yu-na. Artist, musician, vice president of the Student Council. Rich girl. The lucky one. She had a lot of titles, but she dismissed the ones given to her by the other students. And she probably wasn't being the best role model. One earbud was in, blasting one of her favorites bands: ONE OK ROCK. She was tapping the rhythm out on the desk absentmindedly. Whenever the teacher looked at her hoping she'd answer, she just pretended she wasn't paying attention. Someone else was answering them, which was unusual. But a lot of unusual things were happening lately. Her brain was focused on combating these new killings. It tore off the scab of healing after her mother's death. Was she depressed? No. She was determined to find this blood eye and bring them to justice. Her fingers grabbed up her pen as she started to tap the beat on her notebook. She started writing a rough draft of new policies to keep students safe, as well as her own notes on her personal investigation.
Soft whispers of the lyrics of the next song left her as she thought. It had to be an adult. Somebody with experience in wielding sharp objects. That could range from medical officials to chefs...and it had to be someone either connected to the victims or knew someone connected to the victims. Or perhaps there was even an accomplice. There was a lapse in thought as a favorite song of hers came on. 'The Day' by Porno Graffitti. It was a welcome break from her stressed thoughts. And it also brought up some good memories of her brother taking her to their concert in Osaka. They did a tour with Uverworld and Flow. It had gone late, but it was during the summer so it didn't matter. She remembered that her brother had given her an open seat to rest in, which had turned into her falling asleep. Koya had carried her home.
She shook herself out of her nostalgia as a new song came on. Her mind drifted back to the cases...mostly female fingers with rings. But what had kept her brain stuck for the past few nights were the male fingers. There had to be a reason there were fingers from men. Some had speculated that it was nothing, but that hadn't sated her. She knew it was an important detail, but she couldn't figure out why. Tap tap. If it was just females, it would be easier. The evidence would have pointed to either spurned love and jealousy, or a grudge against unfaithful girls masquerading as otherwise. Perhaps it was the same but with males? Tap tap tap. Maybe the killer was bi? It wouldn't be too far-fetched. And it seemed too thought out and methodical to be a crime of passion. Those cases were usually easily solved because the killer didn't think it through. No, they were dealing with a cold-blooded killer. Or at least, it was assumed the victims were dead. Maybe that's what they wanted the public to think? Maybe...tap tap. Her mind drifted down a spiral of speculation as she tapped out the beats of her music.
Name: Nidia Ciosa Aliases: Deviant (bounty hunter), Fern (part-time job) Species: Sirpetes, a varied collection of humanoid plants. The most recent generations have evolved to look strikingly similar to humans. One of the easiest ways to tell that a person is a Sirpetes (or of Sirpetes descent) is their green blood. She is of the sub-species, Ciosans (an ultimately large group), whose blood is acidic and can spit acid.
Homeworld: The satellite Cersen, orbiting the larger mainworld Selveris.
Age: Young Adult
Gender: Female (She/Her)
Appearance:
Uh, *ahem*
Personality: Type ENFP:
Strengths
warm and encouraging
enthusiastic and high-energy
empathetic and caring
fun and spontaneous
strong people and communication skills
Weaknesses
needs constant approval
disorganized
easily stressed
overly emotional
overthinks
rulebreaker and risk-taker
Background: Nidia was always a trouble maker. A total prankster and almost always breaking rules. She has no respect for authority or order, choosing instead to hack out her own path. Her people were calm and respectful and she was...well, she was wild haha, plant jokes. But she always had a crystal-clear sense of right and wrong. Whether it was on her satellite, the mainworld, or in the system, she was always there to fight for justice. That was what lead her to become a bounty hunter. It was everything she could've asked for. She got to bring criminals to justice while going her own way and allowing her to travel. Nidia didn't need the praise or recognition, she was actually quite humble that way. But that doesn't mean she didn't seek approval elsewhere. She's a part-time "exotic dancer" in the Istio system, where she currently resides. It also allows her to pick up on rumors and tips, possibly even contracts.
Talents
Acidic Fluids - Anything remotely fluid in her body is acidic. This includes her blood, tears, saliva. You name it, it burns. Her stomach acid is more acidic than humans, so she can regurgitate a mix of that and saliva as a weapon. Gross, but deadly.
Green Thumb - Unsurprisingly good with plants. She can grow plants in even the harshest of climates. She can also manipulate said plants. And since she is a plant, she requires sunlight, oxygen, and sustenance. Definitely not an air plant.
Marksmanship - She owns a gun called "Hyperflayer" which shoots thorn-shaped bullets.
@BurningDaisies Thank you! She's an alien OC I've had for a little bit. Also her fiance (which I did not include them because they're too nice for lots of things).

Backstory: Yu-na is the second-born child of a loveless (and eventually failed) marriage. Her parents divorced when she was three. Her brother Koya (born Ko-ya) is eight years her senior (24) and her primary caretaker currently. Her mother was an office lackey who worked fearlessly through the ranks to become the CEO of PXL Inc., a fast-rising software and electronics company. There was slander that the company used sweatshops in minor prefects and smaller Asian countries to supply them with products. Her mother repeatedly denied such rumors, although it is unknown whether it happened under her leadership or not. Well, to the public at least. Yu-na was in the know that her mother was fighting hard against the company's corruption, changing regulations and working conditions for the companies that she sourced from. If they weren't ethical, they didn't have a deal. Yu-na only gathers a small inkling of what is really going on, knowing that there wasn't something quite right about her mother's death. The warning was the biggest tip-off. Oh, how terribly right she is and she'll soon discover the truth if she keeps on the right path...
Hera
Appearance:
Description: Sister-wife of the Almighty Zeus, Hera is the Queen of the Greek Gods. She is the goddess of women, childbirth, marriage, family, and motherhood. She is the protector of all women, no matter who they are. But don't mistake her for being soft, however, as her wrath is potent and frequently deadly and/or debilitating. She can either be your worst nightmare or your saviour. It all depends on how you treat the ones she loves.
