Also, the person who had signed on to play a gnome hasn't been active in here at all...so I'm not sure they're still interested lol. Vertigh0st was making a character, but I'm not entirely sure how that's been going for them.

Worst case scenario we just move on, and the parties are still balanced :D (or if you all want the same amount of party members I could open the RP up to replacement characters).
I was hyping the owls and now none of them are posting...

Haha, I think they're still figuring things out for their post. I know at least two people are at work right now, lol. Technically someone else posted, but it was another 1x1 that I can post yet, lol (spoilers abound)
@Rithy
Very true, I'll try to keep this in mind.

It's also for this reason that the players more so control them in terms of "Hey can you give us any additional information about how to do 'x' or help us get in 'y'" rather than them physically joining you.

Anyway, I'm being wordy again and over explaining things, lol
@Frettzo
Yeah for sure! If it's about the camp thing- just know I don't plan on it affecting gameplay. It's more of a chance for players to free roleplay with each other, discuss strategy IC, etc.
Loving the ICs so far guys!

@Frettzo
Hmm okay I'll definitely take this into consideration! Do you have any mechanic in mind in particular or is it just the companions idea? There aren't stats or anything when it comes to combat. We'll just be straight RPing that stuff.

Also, this is for everyone, I've added a 'Companion' section to the Atlas. Through your travels, depending on your actions, you may come to recruit a number of companions to help you on your journey. For certain missions you can request the help of this companion to unlock bits of lore/alternate routes/etc. As well, when setting up camp between quests you can interact with these companions if you wish. Keep in mind that you can also lose companions based on decisions you make.

If this is convoluted and you hate the idea please let me know! I want this to be a fun experience, and not something bogged down with too many mechanics!
@Emma
Oh, I'm so sorry, I was under the impression that her people had been on land for a few years now (the Oceana Abyssal's corrupted expansion drove them to land about 4 to 5 years ago), and while she wasn't perfect at reading and speaking- she was capable of it. That was a complete screw-up on my part. I assumed she was cloistered, but taught rudimentary things to survive. Maybe going this route would be best? That way she's still naive, but not so new to absolutely everything?

Like Life In Stasis (is Stasis cool to call you btw?) suggested it's possible that she could ask for the help of local inn-keepers if she couldn't read in common but could speak it. I think based on lore this would make the most sense.

I have something that could explain the letter portion, but I don't really want to spoil it. Sooo I think this would work best.
A Tale of Owls and Wolves is a two-party RP. The Tale of Owls can be found here. The Tale of Wolves can be found here.

@Life in Stasis

I'm hoping to accomplish that, lol!
@Bishop

Yeah, it is a bit of fluff, but again, I'd like for everyone to get a chance to see the other characters they'll be dealing with. It makes it much easier to understand how interactions and that fun action stuff will go when the time comes.
