Character Theme – Run Boy Run!--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Axe stands at around 5ft11 and weighs around 13 stone. He is your typical looking meat head with a large build, strong muscles and square facial features. He is Caucasian and has a slightly pale complexion. He sports a dark brown warhawk which he keeps fairly short and usually spikes up with product. In addition to this he usually has a rough, but short, beard on the go; but once this gets too long he tends to shave it off and start again. His eyes are ebony coloured and come with eyebrows that sit in such a way as to always make him look slightly pissed off. He has various tattoos including: his old regiment on his right shoulder; a barbed wire neckless; a sleeve on his left arm (filled with Viking themed things like scantily clad women and dragons); and a swastika tattoo on his arse cheek that he got while he was drunk (and which he absolutely hates).

Personality】
If there was one word to describe Axe’s demeanour it would be ‘grim’. Axe over the years has become the kind of man that rarely cracks a smile, and who constantly manages to finds the dark side in every situation. It’s not surprising really, given the last few years, but it has made him a bit unpopular amongst the more fun-loving of the group. He still keeps an air of discipline about him and treats his body fairly well; he is one of the few people in the club that has point out refused to take drugs (save for booze). Despite his grumpy nature, he is a relatively good guy and once someone’s earned his friendship they will find him quite loyal. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

History】
Matthew McFarlane was born in Great Yarmouth and was the younger of two brothers; his older brother being Martin (his parent’s liked alliteration). His father worked off shore whilst his mother stayed home and looked after the kids. Growing up Matthew had a somewhat typical and uneventful childhood. His parents did not earn much, but there was always food on the table. He was popular, but he had friends. He wasn’t great at school, but he managed to scrape by. The only two significant events in his upbringing occurred when he was thirteen years old. The first of these events was his father, of whom he rarely saw growing up due to him working away, running off with another woman; who later it was discovered he had other children with. The second event was when he met a new kid at school named Hector Zelos. Due to Matthews feelings of emotional rejection when his father left and Hector’s position of knowing no-one in the area, the two quickly became close friends and began to depend on each other for emotional support. Not the most healthy of relationships for thirteen year old to have, but one which worked for them.
Fast forward three years to when the two of them finished school and suddenly the best friends go in opposite directions. Hector started hanging around with local drug users whilst Matthew decided to join the Army at an early age. Despite this however the two managed to maintain their friendship, with the two visiting each other whenever the chance permitted. Matthew ended up becoming a mechanic in the Army, after being advised to go for a role which would give him skills he could use after his service. It wasn’t until he turned 19 that he was sent on his first tour, where he found himself deployed in Afghanistan. He adjusted better than some of his comrades and found himself able to cope under pressure. He was fortunate not to see any of his mate die, but throughout his service did get a few confirmed kills himself.
After returning from Afghanistan the first time, Matthew decided to treat himself and Hector to a motorbike each. Both of them had always talked about buying choppers, and so it seemed like the ideal thing to waste his money on. Matthew brought both of them Harley Davidson Fat Boys, and whenever he got leave the two of them would go on long rides together. Matthew was concerned after returning though, as he noticed that Hector had gone from a casual user of soft drugs to a more regular user of heavy drugs. It got to the point in fact that Matthew refused to hang around with Hector if he had been using. The problems would not stop there though. Only around five months after Matthew brought Hector the chopper, he discovered that Hector had decided to sell it for drug money. Matthew, rather understandably, was very hurt and pissed off by this and the two ended up falling out.
His friendship with Hector over, Matthew found himself seldom returning home and opted to devote all of his time into his army life and his army family. He would spent another five years in the Army and in this time managed to rise to the rank of Corporal and became well-liked by his men. Unfortunately it was not long after his promotion that things once again took a turn for a worse. Whilst on a night out he ended up coming across a guy manhandling a young lady, and when he tried to pull the guy off her, ended up getting in a scrap. Due to having a bit too drink and due to being very angry at the way the guy had been treating the girl, Matthew ended up putting the man in a coma. He would later find out that this man was a Captain. In the end Matthew was allowed to voluntary leave the Army rather than going through an embarrassing trail or being kicked out dishonourably.
Returning home Matthew managed to get himself a job at a little workshop called ‘Mikes’ that was placed behind a pub called ‘The Dragons Head’. It was a quaint little place and he managed to build up a relationship with the elderly pub owners and their locals. Things were going well again until one night Hector came through the pub doors. It what was an unavoidable situation, Mathew ended up talking to the man he once called his best friend and the two rekindled their friendship. By this time Hector had gotten himself off drugs and instead had started selling them for a larger local dealer. Matthew, whilst he didn’t approve, was at least glad Hector was sober. Hector even went out and brought himself a new chopper so that they could go riding again. Eventually others that they knew began riding with them and before they knew it the Yare Raiders were formed.
Although they initially never intended to be an Outlaw MC, another group known as the (Norfolk) Reapers began giving them grief. They were an outlaw gang and were involved in people trafficking and drug production. They tried to intimidate the Yare Raiders simply because they didn’t like seeing other patches on their turf. Not a group to individuals that would be pushed around, the Yare Raiders quickly amassed people and guns using their various connections and launched a small war against the Reapers. In the space of a few days the Reapers were caught completely by surprise and were driven completely out of the area. Their club house and cannabis farms were burned down and their stores were raided. During one of the skirmishes Matthew ended up wrestling an axe off of a Reaper before planting it in his skull – it’s because of this that Matthew earned the name ‘Axe’. This course of action was what led the Yare Raiders to embracing themselves as an Outlaw MC and following this they began to get involved in security and drug moving in order to establish links and create a power base.
In more recent months Axe has grown displeased with the increasingly criminal activity that the MC is participating in. He especially hated how they’d gotten directly involved in drugs, in great part because it led to many members (including Hector) getting addicted themselves. With the recent death of Hector, Axe is trying to step up as leader and take the group in a new direction.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
【
Skills and Abilities】
Axe is a qualified army mechanic, able to fix a variety of vehicles. He mostly works on bikes in the MC’s workshop. He is also a very good fighter both with his hands (having been a boxer in the military and being) and with a gun. He’s a particularly good biker, as are most in the club. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
【
Equipment】
Clothing
Axe typically wears jeans (normally dirty work ones) and black steel toe capped boots. He’ll usually wear tight fitting shirts or jumpers, most likely grey or black in colour. He wears his patches on a long sleeved leather zipped biker jacket. In addition to having the First X and VP patches on the front, he also wears a gun pin to symbolise his military service and an Axe shaped pin which a couple of the other bikers brought him as a joke. When riding he wears a matt black open-faced helmet and a plain black face scarf.
Bike
Axe has a customised 2004 Harley Davidson Fat Boy, which through constant maintenance and adjustments he has kept at around 1500cc. He keeps the chrome looking shiny and new, and every now and then splashes a now coat of red and black onto the trimmings. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Opinions】
Club Direction
Axe wants the club to take a step back away from drugs, especially given Hector’s demise. He’d rather not do security for local drug dealers either, but knows that they need that work for both money and alliances. If he got his way he would enforce a no drug policy, get the group under the radar for a bit, then try to expand into legal and semi-legal ventures. He is happy to continue doing protection, although he dislikes how the MC has simply extorted some people.

Katya - "If there's one person I wouldn't want to fuck with, it's Katya. Stereotypical Russian Bear that one. She's a good girl though, and she looks after the club. I respect her if nothing else."
Emer - "I still haven't forgiven her for the tattoo on my arse. To be honest I'm not sure how much I trust her; I mean she's good with the books, but she reminds me too much of Hector in the worst possible ways."
Dominic - "Me and Dom served together and there's few that I'd rather have my back. He's a good mate but I there's still a lot I don't know about him. He's a private guy though so I don't pry on the past."
