Penny found relief in the fact that the situation seemed to diffuse - it was becoming too tense for her liking, even if she would otherwise be revelling in the drama, they would be spending a whole summer together, and it seemed stupid to all fall out over something so harmless. Her eyes flickered over to Lance, who seemed to be standing at a rather awkward angle. Her suspicions were further confirmed as he requested for a first aid kit, and she allowed herself to smile as Damar stepped up to the task of fixing Lance up. She was comforted by the smirk Damar threw in her direction - obviously no damage had been done there after she had stuck up for Eva.

Alex, on the other hand, was obviously still mad. That didn't bother Penny as much - despite his good looks, Alex was probably the one member of the group she was the most distant from. It was something about his character that put her off, but she was most likely just being pedantic, as per usual. She offered little more than an eye roll as he stormed off, resisting the urge to mutter something about throwing a tantrum and instead glancing down at her nails, which were, surprisingly to most people, ragged and bitten. One of the unfortunate side effects of giving up smoking. Swap one bad habit with another.

Her gaze swept away from those upstairs and down to where the front door had opened yet again, revealing none other than Kai. Penny's lips twitched upwards in a smile at the sight of him - he was the perfect person to turn up now, and let everyone distract themselves with greeting him. Her intentions of greeting him, however, were cut short as she was distracted by a familiar figure making a hasty exit. Brandon. Typically, she would watch him go and leave him to his own feelings - she wasn't interested in being someone's rock or whatever. But she owed him. A lot. Enough for it be an annoying weight on her shoulders every time they talked. He was helping her to get over her addictive personality, and had been tutoring her and a few others for the past few years. That was enough to serve as a good reason to be there for him now, wasn't it?

Not bothering to come up with an excuse for leaving, she instead slipped away from the group and downstairs. As she passed Ronnie, she grabbed his arm perhaps a little too forcefully - the fact that he was topless didn't help her grip. She offered Kai a small wave as they passed, mouthing the word 'hi' in ways of greeting.

Penny provided Ronnie with little explanation bar the simple words: "Rescue mission." paired with a devilish smirk.

She stopped short as Brandon came into view in the garden, suddenly unsure of what to do. She wasn't the best at this comforting stuff, or just showing her feelings in general, so she stood back and let Ronnie take the lead. He was far better at all of this social stuff - especially when it concerned cheering someone up. The guy had a gift for making people smile.

The warm greeting she had received from her friends was still something that Penny wasn't used to. Her lips were just pulling up into a grin when she was pulled into a hug, from Ronnie, of course. She felt her cheeks heat up at the embrace. It was not the fact that it was Ronnie that was hugging her - although he was the one in the group that she was perhaps the most attracted to - it was the blatant signs of affection that she not so used to that made her a little uncomfortable. She wasn't complaining, though.

Her smile only widened as Brandon came into view - her teacher and possibly her closest friend. She opened her mouth to say something, perhaps a warm greeting or a light bit of teasing, but was interrupted by Damar almost crushing the guy in a hug. Penny watched the exchange for a second, one brow artfully raised, before sliding her eyes away to a worker behind her, offering to take her bags. Murmuring soft thank you's, she let him take her luggage, almost sighing in relief without that ridiculously heavy duffel weighing her down. She turned around just in time for her eyes to catch onto Eva slipping away, and she let her lips twitch in amusement. Things were about to get exciting.

Her attention was soon distracted, however, with the sight of Jocelyn entering. She looked gorgeous, as always, and where Penny would have been otherwise jealous of the girl, she felt nothing but a friendly affection. But it was now that she stood back and let the group socialise without her, offering her input whenever it was needed, but otherwise staying quiet. She was happy to be here for sure - on the one hand, it would keep her out of trouble for the summer, and on the other she was with the few people she actually happened to care about - but that prospect didn't settle the feeling of awkwardness she felt. It was probably just the fact that she had just arrived - things were bound to pick up sooner or later.

And just at that thought, a commotion seemed to kick up. Amelia was crying, Ronnie was taking off his clothes, Damar was on the hunt for the culprit, Alex was shouting his head off, and Lance had just arrived. All Penny could do was roll her eyes. Talk about an overreaction.

As the boys started shouting for Eva, Penny made the decision to step in. Taking the steps two at a time, she made her way over to stand by Eva. She suspected that she was in fact the culprit, but surely it was only a joke?

"There's no need to get your boardies in a twist, Alex." Penny crossed her arms, keeping her tone flat and calm, her accent soothing, as per usual. She also raised a skeptical brow at Damar, who was also unreasonably angry, yet not as rage-filled as Alex seemed to be. Obviously, he was the one that could be reasoned with.

"There's no point in accusing her of 'acting guilty', Marcus. It's probably just a misunderstanding." Her tone then shifted to one more on the annoyingly indifferent side of things, because she pretty much knew for a fact that it was not just a misunderstanding. "Besides, even if she did take them, it's not a big deal. It's only clothes."

The truth of the matter was that if she was going to stay here for the summer, Amelia would need to man up a bit - especially at the hands of Eva and Penny. Penny had no patience for fussy people, and no matter how much she cared for Amelia, she wasn't going to put up with her crying for 100 days. She was being insensitive, she realised, but that was real life. Besides, no one was doing it to upset her, but how else would they have fun?

Penny's morning had consisted of a ridiculous amount of rushing. For starters, her alarm had decided to stop working, resulting in her only being woken up by Brodie barging in and almost spilling her coffee all over the bed sheets. Instead of shouting out good morning, or giving her an extra shake like any normal brother would do, he wordlessly handed her the steaming mug, ruffled her hair and bounded out. It was now that Penny took a second to marvel at how different the two were; where she was all dry humour and brutal honesty, he was sweetness and clumsy attempts at making people smile. She sipped the coffee, three sugars and no milk, relaxing back against the headboard for a few delicious moments of peace. Of course, Brodie had to once again interrupt that peace by shouting from the kitchen:

"Hey, Pen? You know how I was meant to be giving you a ride up to that summer house? I can't anymore. Working." Typical. At that, she forced her tired limbs out of her bed and proceeded in the laborious task of getting ready. And of course, it had to be one of those days in which her hair was an absolute mess. After what seemed like hours and straightening and brushing and spraying, she stared at the tangled mess in her mirror. Embrace it.

It was just when she was leaving the flat that she felt the buzz of the morning's coffee kick in. Or maybe it was nerves?... Nah, definitely the coffee. Brodie, being the pushover that he was, had been convinced to give her a ride half way, and from there she would walk. At that thought, she glanced down at the huge duffel bag she had slung over her shoulder. Already she was struggling with it, and she hadn't even reached the stairs yet.

Their drive together was as crazy as it always was - Brodie would turn up the radio full blast and the pair would scream out the lyrics at the top of their lungs. It was a nuisance to those they drove by, to say the least, but it was a tradition. As the pair pulled up on a street that was more three-quarters of the way there rather than half, Brodie finally muted the radio and turned to face his sister.

"You know what I'm gonna say, Pen. Be safe, don't do anything stupid, and stay away from the boys." Penny only rolled her eyes at his attempt to be responsible and leaned over for a quick hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"And you know that I'll probably break all those rules, kicker. See you later, love you." And with that she jumped out of the car and shut the door with a sharp bang. Penny didn't waste any time watching her brother drive away, and instead started a brisk walk down one of the many winding roads that were to come.

Twenty minutes later and she found herself surrounded by the kinds of houses that reminded her of home - one of which belonged to Elizabeth. She could feel her stomach flutter at the thought of spending the whole summer here, but her features betrayed little more than her usual small smirk as she ascended the front steps, just managing to catch onto the last of the conversation through the ajar door.

"Did someone say skinny dipping?" She made herself known as she entered the huge house, letting her duffel bag slide off her shoulder and into her hand, only a few inches from the floor. She took the time to recognise each and every person: Geneva, Ronnie, Damar and Alex were the only ones in sight, but she guessed that Elizabeth would not be far off. Penny couldn't help but raise a brow at the group so far - she had no idea who would be coming, but this didn't seem like a bad bunch. A part of her wondered if Brandon, or Amelia would be here - they had always been valued members of the strange group, but they were the more reserved out of all of them. And, of course, she was dying to see Jocelyn and marvel at whatever outfit she had on today. Although she would never admit it, Penny adored pretty much everything about Lyn - especially her fashion sense.

"I'm just dying for a swim. It's so bloody hot." Her accent was stark in comparison to those around her, but she was used to it, and merely laughed alongside her teasing. Despite the fact that she was addressing the group, her eyes wandered around the 'foyer', in awe of every little detail surrounding her. But of course, she didn't let that show.

@HylianRose Here she is! I also did the Quiz thing for her sorry :3

@HylianRose so sorry for my recent absence, but I'm definitely still interested if I'm welcome. I've been slowly but surely working on a character if it's not too late. Apologies again :3
I almost screamed when I saw this...and just when I was about to give up on roleplaying. You can count me in! I'll get to work on a character now.
Tawny

Tawny awoke, not for the first time, to the sound of voices talking about her. She had no idea what time it was, but judging from the light filtering in through the window in her room, it was daytime. Her healing bones protested as she pulled herself up into a sitting position on her bed, but she did not make a sound. Her doe-like eyes remained glued to the nurses by her bed, and she resisted the urge to raise an eyebrow at their indifference. They could at least try to lower their voices - not being able to speak didn't make her deaf.

"It'll be good for her - y'know, to talk to people that have been through the same thing as her." One of the nurses, a pretty Asian girl, finally seemed to notice that the subject of their conversation was sat up and staring straight at them, and lowered her voice so that Tawny could only make out the words 'trauma' and 'too long'.

She couldn't argue with that. She had been here too long - almost a week now. Her seven broken bones were slowly on the mend, and the bruising was beginning to fade. The only real reason as to why she was still in this stupid hospital was because she couldn't talk. So she cooperated, following the nurses along a series of identical corridors until they reached the doors of what they called a 'community room'.

Tawny, feeling slightly dizzy from the amount of painkillers she had been given, glanced at herself briefly in the reflection of a nearby window and sighed. She was a mess, to say the least. Her hair was pulled up away from her face in a severe ponytail, leaving nothing to cover the impressive scape across her cheekbone. Not to mention her sling, heavily bandaged foot and crutches. She looked like a sad version of Mr Bump.

Throwing one last helpless look at the Asian nurse, she was pushed into the room with a sarcastic 'good luck'. Obviously they didn't have much hope for her, she realised, as she looked down at the label on her clothes with her name hastily scribbled onto it. The room she had been thrust into was large and airy and open, and in it seemed to be the world's most depressing group of people. There was a girl with bruises around her neck, a guy with bandages wrapped around most of his body, another tired-looking girl sitting next to the taken beds, a pretty girl asking where the bathroom was, a guy that was seemingly shaken up.

Her gaze stayed fixed on that guy as her vision flashed, causing her to stumble slightly. Something told her that he had just woken up. He couldn't breathe. Asphyxiation. That doesn't make any sense, though, does it? How could she know that?

The old Tawny would have greeted everyone with a warm smile and a friendly introduction - maybe flirting with one of the guys. This Tawny, however, offered nothing more than a small frown while tapping her fingers against her crutch nervously, trying to make her way as quietly as possible to the nearest open window. The group seemed to be greeting each other, sharing experiences. But, of course, she couldn't do that. So instead she sat herself on a window ledge and propped her crutch up against the wall next to her, wide brown eyes watching without a sound.

Sorry for being a little late to the party - but I couldn't help myself. So here are my characters! I hope it's okay that she's mute, but I understand if you'd like me to change that.
