[Pokemon] Romance | Horror | Gijinkas | OCs and/or Canons | 18+

Hi there! To keep this part short, Scarlet and Violet have thrown me back into the Pokemon mood, so I'm seeking some long-term Pokemon RPs!

About Me

• Age: I'm 20+, and I'd like to ask that, regardless of whether or not we have any mature themes, my partners also be 20+ out of personal comfort.
• Timezone: I'm in PST, and I work during the day, so please understand that I can't always get quick replies out! I, of course, understand that you may have personal commitments too; I won't be pressuring you for replies!
• Post Length: An average, single-character reply from me will usually range between 5-8 paragraphs, with introductions being longer because of setup. That said, I'm not picky; I'm happy to match my partner's length as long as we both have enough to work off of from each other's replies!
• RP Platform: I prefer RPing over PMs here, email, or Google docs. Discord is a possibility too (please ask, especially if interested in the last point here)!
• 18+/Mature Themes: I am 100% okay with including these or not having any at all, whether those themes are sexual, violent, etc. That said, please be upfront and let me know from the beginning if you’re looking for straight smut. We need to discuss limits, and I’d rather go in knowing what to expect than suddenly get blindsided!
• RP Mechanics: I thought I’d add this here, but I’m not opposed to using dice/number randomizers if you’d like to make things more chance-based! I don’t have a big, fancy system set up, but I just mean if we want to play trainers, we can throw the dex numbers of Pokemon in the route we’re playing in into the RNG and see what catchable Pokemon pops out. This can apply to battling, fleeing, etc too!

Some ideas can, of course, be combined! If you want to do a horror RP with Pokemon gijinka and a side of romance, just ask!

Fluff/Romance

*I typically can't play out a long-term romance RP without there being a driving force to the plot (i.e. trying to stop an antagonistic team/group), so please note that I while won't say no if you ask for a simple slice-of-life romance, my attention may dwindle without an overarching goal!

I'm happy to play both OC/OC pairs or OC/Canon pairs! Please note with the latter that if you're asking me to play a canon for you, I'd like to double so that we both have a pair. I will also ask for M/F pairings for myself, but I'm happy to play any sort of pair for you!

Preferred Canon Characters

*All characters aged up to adult ages!

I can play:
I've had the most experience playing Serena, Cynthia, Lisia, Rika, Jessie, and Volo. That said, I am a-okay with picking up any canon characters, so feel free to ask if you have a particular character you're looking for.

I would like to play against:
Silver, Adaman, Arven, Raihan, Steven

Plots

• We could bring in a group like the Aether Foundation, Team Rocket, or make our own. Perhaps one or both our characters have some sort of ties to the group (i.e. they have a family member/friend who they want to free from the group, they need to retrieve a stolen Pokemon, etc) that drives them to want to infiltrate or take the group down. Alternatively, maybe one of our characters is actually part of said group and becomes a mentor to the other character, not realizing that they are here to infiltrate the team.
• Similar to the above, I’m also all for having characters as a part of an “evil” group. How evil we go is up to you; I’m down for doing something more cute and comedy-based (like how the original Team Rocket is typically portrayed comedically in the show) or playing out something serious and dark (i.e. an unhealthily dependent relationship).
• A plot based off of Legends Arceus. If playing with canon characters, we can port the PLA canons into the present/future if you want to play out them having to grow adjusted to a new era! Alternatively, we can take canons who exist in the present era and port them into an older version of a region and create an overarching plot either with Arceus or a different legendary at the helm.

Horror

I love horror, and Pokemon truly has some incredible potential with all of its creepy little easter eggs and Pokedex entries.

Plots

• One (or multiple) of the legendaries are corrupted and their powers go haywire. The Pokemon that came to mind for me personally was Mesprit, as the thought of people turning into emotionless husks has creepy potential! I imagine this might play out in a survival-horror way, where the characters have to actively avoid Mesprit and find a cure. Perhaps other legendaries begin falling to the same corruption and things get more and more dire as Uxie begins to wipe memories, Azelf removes will, etc. Feel free to suggest other legendaries!
• I love ghost Pokemon and just how creepy some of the dex entries are, even though we don’t typically get to see their rumoured abilities/tendencies play out in canon. Maybe our characters end up wandering into a deserted town (something Silent Hill-esque comes to mind), and find themselves trapped in a place that is filled with ghost Pokemon that are actively terrorizing people. Maybe it wasn’t so much that they ended up there by accident, but something led them and others there due to them possessing a guilty conscience and needing to be punished in some way. Silent Hill and Fatal Frame are two of my favourite horror franchise, so something with a similar eerie atmosphere is definitely up my alley.
• Tying into the above, there could also be Pokemon/human experimentation gone wrong, and some sort of disturbing creature has been created and accidentally released. Perhaps we play two of the scientists who are now stuck in the foundation’s building as it’s been locked down and they need to find a way to survive as these creatures seek to hunt them down.

Gijinka

This gets its own section because I just love Pokemon Gijinka for some reason. I’m not interested in RPing anthro Pokemon, but gijinkas have always been a fun, guilty pleasure.
*To clarify for those who many not know the difference, anthros are humanoid versions of the Pokemon (i.e a humanoid eevee that is furry and possesses its animal features like a snout), while Gijinka are typically mostly to fully human designs with inspiration from the Pokemon (i.e. a human that has clothing inspired by the eevee’s design and sometimes also has the ears/tail of eevee).

Plots

• Given all the Pokemon experimentation in canon, maybe someone who was trying to develop way to better allow humans and Pokemon to communicate created something that was a little too strong…and inevitably let the chemical leak into the water supply. The end result of this would be many Pokemon becoming human while retaining some of their original traits/powers. We could play trainers, a trainer and a gijinka, wild gijinkas, or so on!
• Fusions? Fusions. I know that this already exists as a concept in one of the Pokemon spinoff mangas, but I’m a little iffy. If you’re interested, we can discuss how this works!

I actually have all the info and things already written up because I decided to do a test run elsewhere to work out some kinks. I would def appreciate the help of getting some mods in this RP since I'm not sure if I'd be able to juggle a whole thing on my own but ANYWAYS

I actually made a tutorial about the selfy maker I used! P: Cropped directly from my FAQ on the other site:

• Where are those images of the HG/HK and other characters from? Do I have to use the same maker to create my character?
  Those images were made using the maker here, using the lists of items from here! There's also an easier-to-use version of the maker here, though the items/faces/etc are a lot less shiny and pretty~ And no, you don't have to use make a ref image from the maker to join. I just thought it kind of fit with the Harvest Moon style and that it'd be nice to have a consistent character style throughout! You're welcome to use your own picture though--just note that if it's a large image, I'd prefer that you link it on the profile instead of posting it with image tags! C:
• How do you use the character maker? How do I change the character's pose/save the image?

  Let's start with the basics!
  
  
  
  As labeled, the bar on top is the search bar, and the squares below that are categories. You don't have to type anything into the search bar--you can just hit a category and hit the button at the bottom if you want to view all items within that category--but it can be handy if you're looking for a specific colour/theme! Since this site is Japanese though, you'll have to search in Japanese, which is where Google Translate comes in handy. For the sake of easy reference though, if you're looking for hair/eyes/clothes/etc of basic colours:

  Yellow: 黄色
  Green: グリーン
  Blue: 青
  Purple: パープル
  Black: 黒

  You'll want to copy the 8-digit number beneath the image, and then paste that...

  Hurray! That's pretty much the gist of this whole maker, actually. From there, you do the same with hair, clothing, etcetc! You can also change your character's pose, but that's a little more complicated.

  The pose category is here. The same thing applies--you'll need the code beneath the image you want. However, there's nowhere for you to insert it in the maker. So, what do you do?
  
  
  
  See that URL button? Hit it and copy the URL that it generates. It should look something like this:

  From here, you'll need to change the url a little to change the pose of your character. I've put the necessary changes in red!

  Saving
  
  There are two ways to save the image! One way is simply hitting print screen, cropping out your character, and saving that!
  
  The other way provides you with a slightly bigger version of your character and is the only way to save a character that has a changed pose. Copy/paste the url of your finished character into your browser and hit enter. After that, you'll probably have to minimize the window that you have your character open in and adjust the size of said window until the proportions don't look too wonky. Then hit the print screen button on your keyboard, slap it in MS Paint or some kind of image editor, and crop your character out. Save the image of your character, annnnd you're done!
  
  If you can't figure out how to save the image though/you're on a tablet or something, feel free to post the completed url of your character in the OOC thread and I or someone else will be happy to help!
  
  Extra
  
  If you're curious what I did with Saffron up there the sample profile (which totally isn't necessary LOL), after I print screened and copy/pasted her image, I brought it into Photoshop. I used the magic wand tool (Tolerance 5, Anti-alias and Contiguous boxes checked) to select the white background and deleted that. Then I double-clicked on the layer my character was on to bring up the "layer style" box to put a stroke around it.
  
  Stroke --> Size 2px, Position: Outside, Blend Mode: Normal, Opacity: 100, and changed the colour to whatever I wanted
  
  After that, I just deleted the background layer so that my image would be transparent and saved it as a png!

I wasn't sure about the farming aspect either. I intended on just focusing on relationships of the villagers as a whole, though I know that that would make it more of a general...island crisis RP instead of a HM one. I think it's mostly HM in that I borrowed the theme/HG and HK characters, and so on because, as you said, trying to incorporate the farming elements might slow things down.

I had been playing the idea of the big company--the one who wants to take over the island--being the main antagonists. They benefit more from the disaster, mostly because there is less opposition now that a couple of the villagers have left. There isn't much standing in their way of getting the island aside from trying to get rid of the other ones now, pretty much!

NONE OF THIS IS POLISHED YET LOL so everything is written super casually/colloquially. UHH, GENERAL PLOT HERE, probably loosely based off of Tree of Tranquility and Hero of Leaf Valley. A nice writeup will be done eventually! Until then...rough points: Nice, flourishing island that is overseen by the Harvest Goddess and Harvest King of the land, who have been long time friends. All is well until a bunch of city folk pop up one day, wanting to buy the island and urbanize it by turning it into a tourist attraction/amusement park.

The Harvest Goddess and Harvest King end up fighting over what to do with these visitors. While the Goddess wants to leave things to the townspeople and let them resolve matters on their own, the King wants to indulge in more direct ways of trying to scare the newcomers off. Things get a little violent between the two, kabloom, and they accidentally strike and kill the sacred Tree of Demeter in the center of the town. As the tree withers, everyone on the island is negatively affected. The soil on the island has become barely fertile, the weather surrounding the island is out of whack, and...other things I intend on brainstorming about happen :'D. Most importantly, both the Goddess and the King end up losing their powers and become mortal as a result.

While there is a way to revive the tree, many of the townspeople begin to leave the island due to how harsh the land has become and the apparent inevitability of it being sold to the big city company. The Harvest Goddess and Harvest King want to fix both the land and to regain their power, and so they try to encourage the remaining villagers to band together to bring the tree back to life.

(...How they can potentially fix this issue is still in the works. In ToT, the main character had to complete tasks to create a rainbow. Roughly, it was something like: achieving the requirements for the red arc = the wind on the land starts blowing again, achieving the requirements for the orange arc = the raging seas calm, and so on)

Hello! I've been craving a big Harvest Moon RP lately, so I decided to try my hand at creating one. I don't have all the details ironed out yet, but I wanted to toss up this interest thread to see if anyone else would potentially be, well, interested in playing! The next two posts will be messy examples of the main post outline + really rough plot, but I'm looking for:

• Another mod/people to bounce ideas with
• Suggestions (e.g. how to go about reviving the tree, plot things, setting, etc)
• Any questions/comments! By all means, feel free to ask me anything or let me know how you feel!
• I was thinking of specifically asking people to use this character maker to use for their refs--opinions on that? It kind of goes with the HM theme + I'm not really comfortable taking random images/other people's work on the net and using them as character refs :C

If you aren't familiar with HM:

• It is literally...a farming sim with dating sim elements. Relationships (both platonic and romantic) play a big role, and there are also some bits of fantasy elements thrown in (Harvest Goddess/King, Harvest Sprites, Witch/Wizard, and so on)
• Character occupations for the RP can pretty much be nearly anything, granted that they live in a relatively small town. I'll definitely be noting specific needed roles that have been in most HM games, like the doctor, nurse, farmer, witch, and so on.
