Bio

I have been roleplaying for fifteen years through various formats from at the dinner table to PbP to RTC. I strongly prefer for mechanics to drive narrative in live roleplay sessions, but in PbP and RTC I'm creative enough that I prefer for creativity to drive narrative instead. To that end, you will probably never talk me into the tabletop subforum, and I can't imagine being dragged easily into Arena or Nation roleplays either.

Preferred size: Anything not exceeding 10 players. I've engaged in very chaotic and bloated playercounts for PbP before and am not eager to engage in that level of discord in the near future.
Preferred genres: Anything. I often enjoy having the opportunity to genre clash, a thing you will notice with my practice work in Expanding Horizons.
Preferred roles: I do not have the patience to build and maintain attractive hub posts for roleplays, which to me is a valuable skill... in GMs. I have co-GM'd in the past both officially and unofficially, and would be happy to do so again.
Quality standards: Any, though I do prefer to interact with players that have a firm understanding of english grammar.

Play Status: Seeking group RPs. Solicitations welcome. 1x1s considered on request, not guaranteed.

A part of me hopes that our two groups meet up accidentally as we're all trying to fleep the planet and have to work together to see it through. Seems super actiony, and I am kind of loving everybody's characters here.
Akagalcia, The Exile

"Make it quick. They won't wait long before-"

Akagalcia didn't move an inch as the beam shot through the cargo shell, boring almost six inches into the pavement below. Rave could sense the rapid bindings she was weaving as he returned fire, all of that work in the span of a single moment. He might not even fully understand how it was done the first time she showed him when he was giving his full attention. Rave began the coldsnap as she'd asked for, Akagalcia closing her eyes on cincentration.

She took a deep sniff of air, tapping her foot against the floor of the cargo shell for an echo. She wanted to sense as much of what she was about to do as possible. Rapid condensation was already forming on both the interior and exterior walls of the shell. She could feel their persuers faintly... their weight against the pavement, their breathing. It was the perfect moment, when she could funnel the pattern for the exact effect she wanted. She braced against the pain...

...and then Rave felt the rush of the pattern. He heard the scream of air vacuuming at intense speeds through a pinprick opening he couldn't see, presumably a part of Akagalcia's pattern. Then, by the light of the glowing asphalt, he saw the walls of the cargo shell contort inward from the pressure change she was causing. This only lasted for a moment before the pattern finally terminated...

Little Athredan - Warehouse Block E, 'Repid Expulsion Grid'
@Zarkun

...in an explosion of force and steam that caused the cargo shell to blow apart, shooting flecks of shrapnel and twisted hunks of alloy throughout the interior. The roof of the shell did the most damage, slamming into and visibly denting sheet metal ceiling. Hunks of debris ricocheted off of brick walls and other cargo shells. A tall stack of containers labeled {Caution! Explosive Contents!} began to fall away from where Rave and Akagalcia were standing, both of them unharmed and unphased at the sudden chaos.

Akagalcia opened her eyes, looking around to see the unconscious bodies of the squad that had been about to light them up. "Feeling weakened, or in a state our enemy can exploit?" As if to emphasize her smug grimace, the frame suspending the dozen or so containers full of explosives crashed on its side loudly, over a hundred thick metal springs 'gloinging'. Whatever was inside those containers didn't seem to be active.
@jakeb1993 @codex @Old Amsterdam

I kinda love Old Amsterdam's power idea. Just seems like there'd need to be upper limits of some sort so that we still get drama out of confrontation between PCs.
@Zarkun

<I mean no offense, but I'd rather not do something super unfamiliar right now.> Rave sent. Akagalcia sniggered very quietly.

<Then lead, runner. We shall be prey. They will not catch us.> Akagalcia stooped down to the floor of the cargo shell, tapping the kukri's spine against the alloy paneled floor for a surprisingly loud cleowng, cleowng, cleowng sound. <Project to my hand. I will teach you another pattern.> She held up the piece of glowing red asphalt, which was starting to crack, lancing a much more intense heat from within out into their confined space as the personnel searching for them gathered around the cargo shell. Her will on the asphalt was a beacon in his mind. Rave wouldn't even have to look to extend his will and give her what she was asking for.

"Athredani Circumstantial Forces! Disarm, disrobe, and deactivate that thermal charge or we will open fire! This is your only warning!

<Coldsnap the moment you project to me. They will not be harmed.> She stepped silently closer to him. He could already feel something new about Akagalcia's projection...
All of Fabricant's posts are good.

I just wanted to express this so I will no longer feel compelled to like everything they post that I like, which is good.

Post about posting about posting about. In this very thread. About posting.

My reaction to this thread now and most likely in the future:

@Rilla all of this sound good, or are there things you'd prefer toned down/not at all there?

-Pre CS summary-

Name: Phinuphus
Age: 41
Race: Beastkin (Capybara features)
God: Anomandaris
Classes:
Major - Merchant/Apothecary

Phinuphus has made his living traveling between his monestary and local villages, trading spices, tinctures and fine spirits, for food, firewood, tools and other necessities. He has gained a fine understanding of medicinal plants and how to refine them thanks to his olfactory senses. He also has a shrewd business sense and a head for logistics.

Minor - Monk

Phinuphus came to his monastery as a devout of Anomandaris after his parents were lost to plague, serving the monks and nuns as a go-between so that they were prepared for inhospitable terrain during the cold months. He began training with them in earnest to find inner peace, and while his practice has been recreational for over fifteen years, he has begun to take it more seriously, and has begun to see his spirit animal.

Skills:

Major - Healer

At a glance, Phinuphus can often diagnose illnesses by smell and taste before their worst symptoms manifest, and if he doesn't have a preventative or proven cure-all in his pack, he can probably tell you whether they can forage locallly for the means to make one. His means as an apothecary are exclusively curative--he would never think of dabbling in less honest applications of his art.

Minor - Pugilism

Capybkin are some of the largest beastkin on Allaria, standing at almost nine feet tall with thick hides and broad shoulders not unlike a small bear save for its unique paws and tranquil face. Phinuphus' body lent itself well to learning the fundamentals of martial arts, but gave him such a clear advantage over many of his teachers that he has struggled to ever learn more than the vry basics, and is terrified of harming friends while sparring.

Magic: True to monks devoted to Anomandaris, there is likely some magic that has been honed within Phinuphus soul. His fur can become extraordinarily dense and sharp, proving a good defense against bludgeoning and slashing weapons. Wrestling him when his fur is hardened is not advised.

Spirit Animal: A large rabbit.
