Marlene drunk the vodka and continued reading her Bible.
"strange days...indeed."
"strange days...indeed."
Mikkish remembered he had a little bottle of "water" in his jacket. It wasn't water though, but vodka. Despite that he was of legal age back on the island, and had been going to bars and clubs for the past year, he was still under drinking age in the US, and he loved the thrill of underage drinking.
On top of that, he never got drunk in a library, and it was just so random not to try it out.
"Yo." Mikkish said to Marlene as he reached into his pocket and grabbed the vodka "Wanna get hammered?"
He then nodded to Blink as a sort of invitation. Maybe it was okay to chill out, considering there probably was no cult.
Mikkish looked at Blink for a second and then at Marlene, wondering how he always found himself in these awkward situations.
"Hi...Marlene." He had to admit she was kinda hot, despite the all the crazy. "How do you like the mansion so far?"
"Mikkish is the thin blonde young man. He is in the library right now. It would be best, however, if Marlene went in first to convince him." He looked at Marlene and nodded "Don't mention anything about commitment or even use the word 'marriage' in any context. Mikkish likes to believe he is free."
Gabriel smiled again.
"I will get to that eventually. You seemed the to be most likely to take interest in the idea. I have you and your owlman friend on my side, and perhaps this girl. Perhaps we can convince the others to comply, but most importantly...Mikkish."
Meanwhile, in the library,
"Damn dude. You haven't seen the rooms yet, have you? They are like their own 5 star hotel rooms. I bet this place had room service that serves fuckin lobster. You should really check it out."
Outside in the hall
"Mikkish could pose a threat to me, and wouldn't be so keen on the idea of working with me at first, but if I can just get him to listen, I am sure he can be convinced. Unfortunately, he would more than likely attack me once he sees me." Gabriel explained, looking at Marlene "But he does have one fatal flaw. He is a horny bastard. Easily manipulated by pretty women like you. So maybe your feminine charm could convince him, and if not..." He then looked at Sam "Maybe you could summon Owlman if more...brute force is necessary."
"My wife would kill me." He said, riding so hard on a wild, rushing stream of consciousness that the kiss seemingly hadn't registered. "Oh my god, I have to call Alice. I'll have to stay here a while. I'll need clothes. Where did you get your new clothes?"
"Ahhhhh, I think I see." Sam said, "The reason this place isn't conforming to the rules I know to be true is that it plays by different rules. A truly separate reality, not just a difference of perception." He looks around in awe, giddy with anticipation. He turns suddenly to Marlene. "Hello Marlene, my name is Samuel West and this is the greatest day of my life. Do you understand what this means? You and your rude boyfriend come from another world. A different world than mine, or his!" He say, excitedly pointing to the butler before he just starts babbling. "I'm going to need to take samples, and statements, and pictures, I'm going to need my equipment. If I leave will I be able to find my way back? Does this place have internet access?"
Gabriel, or rather, the butler who's name was not mentioned until now, grinned.
"I'm pretty sure you already know, or rather, already had a taste of how perception creates reality. But to your understanding, there is objective and subjective reality. In truth, they are the same." Gabriel said "Every reality is a possibility, set side by side in a circle. This mansion, and the forests outside are what is set in the middle."
Gabriel looked at Marlene, then at Sam, and wondered how Sam would react.
Sam turned around. How in the word did people keep sneaking up on him?
"Philosophy?" He replied to the butler. "Thinking about how people exist and thinking with your head and not with your..." He stumbles as the dutch girl starts to cry. "Not with your heart."
Then the other guy vanished before his eyes and the Butlers words really hit home. "Fascinating. So, this? Do you mean this place? Where exactly am I??
