Bio

Well hello.

I guess I should introduce myself, huh.

I'm Gardevoiran, just some schmuck going to college and working towards getting a degree in Fine Arts.

I do commissions and what-not, and you can ask me to do a commission for you through my Discord (Gardevoiran #1429) or up here through RPGuild PMs, and I receive donations and payment through my Ko-fi page. Clicking the box right below here will take you to it.

I'm a nerd. I play Pokemon religiously, I dabble in some anime, I write up here, and I love watching incredibly awful movies and just making fun of them. Specifically things like "Leo the Lion" and what not.

I don't have much else to say, so I guess I can leave you guys with a really bad joke.

"What do you call a cow with two legs?"
"Lean beef."

Akiko's mind seemed to wander for just a few minutes as she took in just everything that happened. Almost like reality glitched for her and her brain just... turned off for a moment. For a brief second she was concerned before everything just kind of fell back into place. Probably some side effect of cards or something, maybe just a needed minute of rest from all the, simply put, bullshit that was going on. Regardless, she shook her head to clear her mind, just about the same time as Castle spoke back up.

[ Mistress, is everything alright. ] Its voice was curt, just as before. In a quick response, Akiko nodded to the ghostly cat spirit before she stepped forward more into the room with Ami, seemingly back in her old ways.

Standing in the room were a vampire countess, another being incredibly similar to the other adventurers of the Tower, Ami, herself, and Kanbaru. Weird about Kanbaru, though, since she remembered her going in seemingly another direction from Akiko and Ami earlier. Regardless, the bard bowed towards the countess, biding a pleasant arrival, before she stood back. "Good day, Countess. Garou directed us here." As she stood, she watched the room quietly and kept tabs on the - that was a weird reaction to looking at Kanbaru. Did that woman know her, too? Interesting...

"Friendly faces, all around. Mmhm..." She plays it off like nothing happened, and resumes her focus on Victorie. "So, any questions?"
Newcomer

"Yes, friendly faces indeed." Akiko met the statement of the new face in this Tower with her own, stepping forward calmly towards the center of the room, bearing such confidence that she wore a slight smirk on her face. Overconfidence was an insidious killer, but she was hardly overconfident. If this fight was anything similar to the others, she had faith she'd be fine.

"Well well, seems like your work has been made easier, Miss Exorcist," Victoire said as a fanged grin came to her face. "In fact, it seems like all of you are after the same thing. If that's the case, why don't you fight between yourselves and find out who's the real thief here, huh? I don't care who wins as long as I recover what rightfully belongs to me."
Victoire

Oh. So that's how this was going to go?

After a soft red flash from Castle, Akiko at least managed to gather a name for the figures she was facing. "With all due respect, Lady Victoire, at least allow us to get to know each other before subjecting us to combat." Akiko smiled, turning to face Riku. "Akiko Miazaki, travelling poet and fortune teller. I believe you are Riku, the Exorcist, Royal-turned-Adventurer? If the scarf from you mother means anything, then clearly you must've had some hangups on leaving home, right?" Ok, that last part about the scarf was a bold guess, but judging from Riku's reaction she could tell if it was true in any regard or not. Besides, intros were out of the way! Huzzah!

"Looks like we got properly introduced to eachother now, correct? Well, allow me to be the one to warn you that, while I might be a pacifist in actions, you won't be getting me to leave this room if I have anything to say about it." Castle gloomily manifested behind Akiko, though only Kanbaru and any active Serei could see it (unless Victoire had the ability, as well.) "So I suggest to you that maybe you leave this situation to us, hm? Better yet, maybe we can work something out. I do happen to have an idea of what the culprits look like, after all~."

When Mac fell, Skylar winced pretty hard. Though Seabreeze cleaned up the battle easily, it was still a little hard to see Mac go down like that. Mac could take a good rest in his Pokeball for just a little bit from there. He'd probably head on to the Pokemon Center anyway after this for a quick rest before returning.

Then Brendon went down handily by Paradise and Royal's combined efforts. Cranidos was a little unnerving, but everything ended pretty well, even better after Brendon asked if he could trade for Skylar's armor fossil. As he went through his list, Skylar heard Plume and immediately got a wide smile on his face.

"If you don't mind passing up on that Plume Fossil, I'd be more than happy to trade my Armor fossil for it. That being said, mind if I trade my Fire Stone for your Dusk Stone? I've got a Murkrow in the PC that sure could use it, heh." Regardless on whether the Dusk Stone trade went through or not, Skylar'd hopefully get his 'grimy' little hands on the Plume Fossil, and from there he would immediately know his next steps.

... so, immediately upon receiving the Plume Fossil, Skylar put up Jeebs, Royal, and Paradise for just a little bit. They'd be back here soon, no doubt, but he had another step to do first. He packed up his bag and began to walk out of the mines, waving to the miners as he left. "I'll be back! I just wanna go heal up my Pokemon real quick!"

He left the Mines, and to say he was hustling through Route 7 was an understatement. That boy was schmovin' on through to Raremine, not stopping for anyone or anything. He was on a mission of friendship! Nothing was stopping him.

"Ral?"

"Don't worry, JoJo. I think you're a mainstay on the squad. I don't wanna do it to Jeebs, but with all those Rock types in the mines I think that it'd be better to put him up for just a little while." Skylar smiled as he saw the blurry skyline of Raremine. "I wish I could have the whole group out and about together, but it's a lot to handle. You and Seabreeze are mainstays for sure. Maybe we'll find some Pokemon to train you in the deeper parts of the mines, when we get back." He looked up at Seabreeze. "Either that or we'll have Seabreeze help you out a little bit."

"Wingull!" Seabreeze cawed affectionately, confirming his opinion on the matter.

"Then it's settled. We might need to grab some kind of dinner on our way out of town, but we'll be juuust fine." It did seem to be getting dark for the trainer. To be fair, they've had quite the journey today, for sure.

After a few more minutes, Skylar made it back into Raremine, and with no brakes he went to the Pokemon Center to heal up his squad and put Jeebs into the box. He had the feeling he might need a free team slot for this next member, so he had one open just in case.

After the center, he started off to the Research Lab. His first priority? Resurrecting the Plume Fossil, and adding another Pokemon to his team.

(Whatever happens in the Research Lab can 100% happen, but Skylar's going to resurrect the Plume Fossil as soon as he can when he's in there. Since I don't know how it looks, uh, just assume when he walks in he's going straight to the resurrection person.)

"Aw yeah! Now we're cookin' with gas!" Skylar pocketed the fossils he had just acquired, smiling at the bounty and putting them neatly into his bag along with the Fire Stone and Icy Rock. Solid grabs, and not to mention that Skylar had two new stronger team members at his side.

"Combuuuusken!" "Spewpew!" The two evolved Pokemon cheered in confidence, Mac running up to Skylar and offering a boastful pose of confidence to the young trainer, who returned it with pleasure.

"Let's go! With a fighting type on you, we've got nothing to fear for quite a while!" Skylar smiled at the progress this group was making. No doubt the crew would be more than able to keep this momentum up going forward. Tomorrow's plight for a second badge looked great as it stood.

Onto the more current problem, if you could call it that, the Hikers nearby were ready to rumble with Skylar's new teammates, and the boy was happy to deliver.

Assuming that's where Skylar leaves the battles, we're going back to mining and training. Hopefully these battles go well, since Rollout as a move is completely destructive on his team.

Upon entering the Desert Mines (Skylar overlooked the previous route for now, since he'd have to go back through it anyway), Skylar immediately was faced with not knowing what to do exactly. There was certainly a lot to do, definitely, but as it stood at a moment's glance... well, maybe he could do a lot at once. At least, for the immediate moment, Skylar grabbed a tool, gave his sunglasses to JoJo, and reached into his bag to grab a bandanna he might have had. "I doubt any of these miners would want to trade a fossil with me right now, seeing as I'm empty handed and low on cash, so..." Skylar's brows furrowed over his cloudy grey eyes. "I guess I better get to mining! Whole team's coming out, get ready guys!"

Skylar knew JoJo and Seabreeze were out, so he took out the last four Pokeballs he had and sent each of his other buddies out, one by one.
"Tro~!"
"Torrrrchic!"
"Scattabattabee!"
"Emu!"

... and while he was releasing, Seabreeze and JoJo chimed in as well.
"Wingull!"
"Rrrallal~!"

Skylar looked at all his pals, everyone perching onto Paradise in some way. "Alright, buds! Let's get some training done!"

Skylar, though definitely pressing his face against the glass of the fossil cases to see if there was one that piqued his interest, sighed at the sight of the ones available. While 100% all great investments, no doubt, but none of them were the birds that Skylar was looking for. He remembered what colors the fossils from his childhood books were, and none were close. Not to mention that he didn't even have the money for any of them anyway, what with the recent purchases of Great Balls and Go-Goggles. All that said, the Dusk Stone was a little tempting, since Skylar did have Smiley in the PC. Maybe that'd be a worthy investment in a little while...?

He waved his way out as he made his choice. "I think I'm going to go check out the mines first before I make any decisions. Thank you!"

... and with that, off Skylar went to the- wait a second...

"Um, actually, before I leave..." Skylar walked back over to the counter of the Stone Shore, reaching into his bag and aimlessly feeling around for an item before JoJo's horn vibrated and shone in the light, the Relic Vase appearing in Skylar's other hand.

"Thanks JoJo! Um, would you happen to be interested in this vase?" Skylar held it up for whoever was behind the counter to inspect. "Forgot that I had this, and I wouldn't exactly know where to take it."

(No matter how this interaction continued, Skylar's heading to the Desert Mines after this.)

"You can see it too, Kanbaru?" Akiko asked, raising her arms to block a strike before seeing Castle fly forward and strike another dog into plant mush. Her thoughts were provoked even further when Caprice spoke up about it being imperceptible. "And Caprice can't...?"

[ It is true. Your friend, the Wheel of Fortune, can see me through some greater supernatural power, but the Fool cannot. It's an interesting situation, your friends not being able to see me excluding the Wheel. I cannot say the same for their Serei, though. ] Castle backpedaled to hover behind Akiko, the onslaught of dogs dying down more and more, though it occasionally kept diving forward to jam a hole straight through a dog that dared to get too close.

"Might be something to test out." Akiko pulled out the Lorelai card and held it for a second, deciding whether to summon her or not. At the approach of the well-dressed gentleman, she decided to be safe and summoned Lorelai. At the very least she'd be nice to hold.

After the brash accusations of the man at the group, Akiko sighed at everyone else jumping to conclusions before she stepped forward, Castle floating behind her in defense. "Like the blonde said, we haven't committed any sort of larceny so far, as enticing as that might seem and as guilty as we may look." She straightened out her dress and pushed some hair out of her face. "That being said, perhaps our sudden and mysterious arrival can work out in both of our favors. Maybe if you call off these dogs and we talk things out like reasonable people we can reach a consensus?" Akiko looked back at the group and sighed.

"Okay, maybe if we can talk things out like reasonable people. No offense to any of the party members behind me, but I don't think that I'd be hard pressed to say that I'm the person that speaks for the group."

As Akiko spoke, Castle's eyes flashed along with Akiko's own. Perhaps it was just the way she stood in the moonlight to this man, but Kanbaru could see exactly what she was doing.

"Nice!" Skylar cheered at Dawkin's success. He didn't have a lot of doubt that he couldn't actually do it, but he was still kind of happy to see that the trainer was successful. Now that the whole kerscuffle was over with, Skylar could get on his own personal mission.

"Alright, well, now that he's got everything under control, I think I'm gonna head off and get to the Pokemart. Gotta restock on Pokeballs, grab some goggles for the gym, and then I'm heading to the shore to hopefully find some fossils." Skylar told Vivia his plan of action as to move forward, and he turned towards the Pokemart. "You're more than welcome to come with, Viv, but I totally understand if you wanna catch up with your friend here."

Regardless of Vivia's decision, Skylar's heading to the Pokemart to buy some items.
- Ten Pokeballs of the best quality there (probably Great Balls, since he only has one badge), so he can cop that extra Premier.
- Go Goggles!

... and after that shopping was done, Skylar was off to the Stone Shore to find some fossils! Hopefully a Plume one would turn up.

"Rrrallal." JoJo looked up at Skylar, admittedly looking slightly worried about the upcoming battles.

"Don't worry, bud. We'll be fine so long as we're all together. We're gonna try and keep this town like the last - seeing the sights, training in our free time." Skylar assured to Seabreeze and JoJo of his master plan. He certainly had no idea if this gym leader was willing to go all out on the battle like Lorette was, but he'd take his chances.

Breathing heavily, Digbie stepped forward to pick up the small bead he just exp- "Holy crap, it worked!" He looked at the near-perfect hole he made in the Hard Stone he just tried to work with. Without any hesitation, he strung the new hard stone onto the Beaded Twine. Nice.

He was actually really impressed with how that was done, too. He had managed to conjure a rune around his feet as he attempted to create the hole. That... was really interesting. Maybe that was all a part of one major skill? It'd be interesting to see if he could figure out how to recreate it... though, he did remember the sequence.

For a moment, he wondered if he could...

"System, create linked skill on those last actions." He asked of the System. "We'll call it 'Bore'." Digbie placed the twine into his pocket as he turned around and faced the rest of the group, sitting on the ground after to remedy his now-depleted mana reserves. Interestingly, Torrent had finally woken up from her evolution! Neat!

"Hiya, Torrent! Did you see the runes I made during my test?!" Digbie wasn't actually sure if she did, since he was a little occupied. He was pretty sure Torrent could feel through Tremor Sense that his heart was still pumping. "I really like the heads, by the way! Seems like you had quite a big glow-up!"

Digbie raised an eyebrow at Torrent, though everyone could kind of tell that he was just Analyzing her with everything but Plant Analysis. Then she brought up something about hunting, and Digbie did nod. The group was low on food, after all, and though he didn't want to kill an animal for no reason, he needed to eat something and he needed to help keep his friends alive and fed. "Yeah, we should probably find something before nightfall. We can experiment tonight, but we probably need to leave to go find those kobolds after." Digbie paused for a moment. "... think these Kobolds are gonna be the fluffy ones or the scaly ones...?"

Shit! Akiko was able to be prepared for the attack as soon as it came due to whatever sense of smell she had from her wolf stunt, but she wasn't ready in any physical capacity! Her Serei cards weren't summoned and these hounds were about to attack! She desperately fanned through her cards looking for Lorelai, when one hound suddenly leapt at her...!

[ Cease. ]

But, only visible to Kanbaru and Akiko, a paw came rocketing out of a purple cloud and promptly smashed into the bush hound, knocking it right at the wall and smashing it's head into dust, promptly killing it. Akiko was dumbfounded. What that voice... was that what just rocketed out of the cloud? Speaking of that cloud, the purple smoke began to grow and solidify into something... more. Something greater.

At first, it was humanoid in shape, but as it began to stretch and grow its form began to swap and change to fit what it really was. Two large ears sprouted on top of it's feline head, the body accompanying it lithe, yet toned. What would've been hands on this figure were no more than large paws, complete with razor-sharp nails and, somehow, thumbs. It had cuffs on, almost like it had been broken free from arrest, and the same cuffs were around it's knees, if you wanted to call them that. They were more... digitigrade in nature, paws at the end instead of human feet and toes. This was... odd, but considering who it was protecting...

[ You won't get near. ] It's voice was almost like Akiko's, but it seemed to echo with a darker, male tone. Like, it left a masculine aftertaste to it.

Akiko staggered backward. "What... what are you..?"

The being responded accordingly, though only Akiko and Kanbaru could acknowledge it. [ I am your subconscious, your psyche, your soul, and the manifestation of your fighting spirit. Normally, someone like you wouldn't be able to have something like me, but this Tower of Fables has helped you reach greater potential. You are a pacifist, but that doesn't stop you from wanting to fight when you have to. ] The being stood fast, another hound approaching, and knocked it to the side without any worry, this hound leaving a sizable crater in the wall. Of course, nobody could see it, but it was really cool to see Akiko 'knock' these babies aside.

[ I am your Stand, brought about by the arrow. I am Castle. ] The figure said, its eyes gleaming with a red tint. [ I fight close by, and any cards you have summoned I will keep their abilities, so you may utilize your newfound strengths even if you choose to leave this tower. I will not leave you. ] Castle moved to behind Akiko, taking place behind her and raising its hands to fight.

"So... that's what that arrow did..." Akiko offered a smile, dashing forward to another hound and knocking it once again to the side with Castle. As she batted it aside, she caught Rose kicking back as if she was watching a movie. She frowned. "Good to see you're helping, Fortis." Akiko chafed. She didn't really need any help with Castle at her side, but her point still stood.

Talk about a strange new place to walk through. The dark and mysterious hallways did a lot more to raise questions then they did to cue in the new arrivals to their new location. Akiko rubbed her shoulder as she stepped forward and away from the rest of the group, though she didn't leave their immediate company just yet. She felt like she needed to introduce herself, since Thomas was a newbie and it was better for her to keep him in the know.

"Honestly, it's not too bad having someone new around, so long as you don't leave us like Tokuda." Akiko offered her commentary on the situation before she turned to face Thomas and the group directly. "I'm Akiko Miazaki, though everyone around here just refers to me as the catgirl or some variant thereof." She waved her two tails in front of her before they settled down at her side, and if anyone cared to pay attention to it, her eye would gleam yet again as she gazed onto Thomas. What sort of stories did this newcomer have to tell, she wondered.

Though, only to Kanbaru's eyes, something was much more prominent behind Akiko. A purple fog coalesced behind her, only for a moment, and took the form of something... vaguely humanoid. Maybe with large cat ears, but there really weren't other features that she could tell in this brief moment. As it began to dissipate, along with Akiko's gleam in her eyes, a sound came from it, though it was very soft.

[ I wake. ]

Akiko, herself, seemed to notice it, and turned behind her for a momeent. "... anyone else hear... ah, whatever." She turned back around fully and spoke once again. "Excuse me, just going to make sure nobody surprises us."

Akiko brought her hands up towards her face, took a breath, and it had seemed that she lost the same whiskers that she had moments before, her mouth extending a little bit forward and her nose growing much larger considering her human features, finally settling into the full form of a wolf muzzle. She took a large breath in, trying to pinpoint where anything was with an impressive sense of smell. Whether or not she'd smell anything, though, was to be decided.

"Monkey's card was a nice grab if it lets me do this. Pretty solid intakes, so far."
