Bio

Well hello.

I guess I should introduce myself, huh.

I'm Gardevoiran, just some schmuck going to college and working towards getting a degree in Fine Arts.

I do commissions and what-not, and you can ask me to do a commission for you through my Discord (Gardevoiran #1429) or up here through RPGuild PMs, and I receive donations and payment through my Ko-fi page. Clicking the box right below here will take you to it.

I'm a nerd. I play Pokemon religiously, I dabble in some anime, I write up here, and I love watching incredibly awful movies and just making fun of them. Specifically things like "Leo the Lion" and what not.

I don't have much else to say, so I guess I can leave you guys with a really bad joke.

"What do you call a cow with two legs?"
"Lean beef."

Akiko's room in the Dangeki was simple and plain for the most part. Aside from a humidity emanating from the bathroom nearby, no doubt indicative of shenanigans, her bed was neatly made and the table in the room held a small bit of what could be assumed as her inventory. A chipped shortsword laid neatly atop it and juxtaposed the golden arrow beside it, not long after a smoky cat appearing to sit over both of them as a way to safeguard the treasures. Akiko herself sat down on the bed, her legs laying beside her and an arm keeping her up carefully.

"First things before we start accosting eachother for our little pals, you said a card had rejected you earlier?" Definitely one for business, it seemed, though you couldn't exactly blame the cat for wanting to get down. Whatever Kanbaru's friend was definitely sent a malodorous waft across the room, and it didn't make Akiko want to loosen up.

This little excursion did confirm the uniformity of the rooms to Kanbaru, it's sole treasures standing out amidst the wooden interior. Should she have felt insulted by the spectral cat hovering protectively over them? Probably hypocritical given her JSTR, and was it a delight to speak so openly of her. "Yes, we're both delighted you'd have us over, and I'll keep my nun on her best behavior."

Her expression soured at the mention of her latest acquisition, the Serei's hostile presence still making it's displeasure known even without actively attacking her. Settling on the bed alongside the lounging cat, she tipped back her hat and plucked the card from where it was sweating between her breasts. "To be perfectly honest with you, we've been lucky not to find more cards that don't agree with us, but this one seems to hate me for the nature of my partner. Rather intensely. Perhaps she knew the JSTR in another form, but she certainly won't work with me willingly. At least she doesn't seem inclined to kill me outright."

"Given what I think about this tower and the floors we've been to, I wouldn't disagree with that assessment" She chose to ignore Kanbaru's chosen spot to place the card in favor of continuing to brainstorm. "These Serei are incredibly useful, but even when one disagrees with the user as seen earlier with... the Henry Card, I believe, they can at least be used. A card outright rejecting seems to be something of more importance." Akiko eyed the ery card she was referring to, the rejecting one, and simply watched it for a moment with her eyes. "I think I could assess the past of that card, if you would like. Maybe figure things out a little more."

Castle had apparated behind its master as she brought up the past of the card, the golden arrow having been taken and now being nowhere in sight.

Kanbaru shrugged, tilting the card towards Akiko to let her grasp it if she wished. "Feel free. I'm still unsure what I plan to do with it If I can't convince this Bastion to play along. At least we have a store to trade her if she's not gonna budge an inch."

That Castle was now hovering over them both was a bit odd, almost defensive when even the JSTR wasn't making an appearence. Crossing her legs she leaned back, boots idly poking at the floating feline. "Though I have to wonder what you're angle is in all this. Curiousity? Some desire for this card?"

"Well if you can't use it clearly you don't need it, but ignoring that little tidbit I have only one desire for what I wish to gain here." Castle's form hovered down to meet Akiko's head, the eyes on both user and stand glowing red for a moment. The girl stared into the card for a solid few seconds before she retched back and basically slammed her hands on her face.

"Gah! Son of a BITCH!" At first, it'd seem that Castle had disappeared, leaving the user to rub her eyes in anguish. Though, that was only the surface level, as above the bed against the wall was a fresh crater in the shape of a hand. Was... waes that new?

"God dammit, of course the wall was where we'd take out our frustratons... dammit. I hope I don't wake up and taste drywall..." Akiko chafed, one eye open and the other clearly still being rubbed.

Naturally Akiko reaction elicited a wild peel of laughter now that someone else could finally understand the pain that card had put her through. Plucking off her hat she dropped it over the cat girl's face lest the light of the room irritate her spltting migraine.

"Just be glad you weren't eaten by a snake after that. Still, this does show we've found a card that really hates our guts. Best not tell anyone or we won't have a chance in hell of conning them with it into trading for something more agreeable." Sliding the Bastion card back where it came, the orca stretched luxuriously backwards, flopping beside Akiko without a care.

"So what was the second issue you wanted to discuss, kitten?"

Akiko pushed the hat up with a face of annoyance at being called kitten. Lest she wanted to get into the specifics of who could and could not call her that, she knew for sure that Kanbaru didn't sit in the first category. Bah, whatever. "I am fairly sure the card just hates your guts. I was able to see gently into the veil of that past, though unfortunately not much. What I was going to ask second however was regarding what your JSTR was."

Akiko sat up, the hat flopping onto her head and her ears gently poking under it. "Is it like Castle? A Stand? Or is it something more?"

"A Stand? Hmm, that must have been an interesting arrow you bought then. But alas, my lovely, luscious, psychotic nun isn't any creation of mine. Really the nun look is the giveaway if you've ever seen those Conjuring movies." Kanbaru snorted, willing the visage of her parasite to waver in the air, just a glimpse before letting it slip away.

"The JSTR....well, when i first met it, it was a malignant program in a video game- No, she didn't meet me, but another me. Guh, multiverse theory is a bitch and a half to explain when it's jammed into your skull with an ice pick!" It was her turn to grasp at her brow, a quiver of pain from forces she didn't properly comprehend. "It seems...some version of me attracted the attention of a parasite. So when I came here, it latched onto me. Was ingratiating itself till we went to Umbra, where it revealed itself fully."

"She's....clingy, in odd ways. A great fuck in bed, and the best partner in a fight I could ask for, but I don't think she's as well intentioned as your Castle."

Akiko nodded along to Kanbaru's explanation. Multiverse theory was something she was suspecting, but some of this was a bit interesting to properly converse about. "Sounds more like a mutualistic exchange than a parasitic one, if you ask me, and she clearly isn't as well intentioned as Castle, but if she isn't a Stand I'm not surprised."

Castle rematerialized on the bed, sitting in a catlike position despite being its humanoid form. "Assuming that what I learned from gazing through the arrow is true, Castle would be effectively a manifestation of what my Soul is, which sounds different than what JSTR is. However, since only Stands Users can see Stands, I'm inclined to believe that the JSTR and Castle are more similar than I would originally envision." Akiko mused to Kanbaru, Castle shrinking to a smaller, more quadruped form before hopping onto Akiko's shoulder and watching. "Assuming that this is true, I believe the JSTR and Castle meet at a crossroads of the Soul, and that... whatever the JSTR is has become fiercely entangled with yours. As you put, like a great fuck that would be clingy in odd ways." She chuckled at her joke.

"The multiverse idea also explains all these odd versions of Earth-like worlds, and I would be lying if I didn't say that what your JSTR is I think I may have encountered before. Only a far-reaching hunch, mind, but definitely noteworthy." She kicked back on the bed, crossing her legs over eachother. "You remember when you and Rose went off to get arrested in the woods after a threesome while I wormed into the local government?"

"Funny you talking about great fucks when your bathroom still carries that delightful fragrance. Hmm, I don't see Castle being the sort, so you must be enjoying a friendly relation with a Serei of yours." Kanbaru smirked, poking the cat girl's side to lighten the mood amidst discussions of existential dread and the pollution of Kanbaru's soul by foreign entities.

"Oh right, that threesome was fantastic. Wish I had gotten her card. Mmm, I would be hard pressed to find a reason not to have had Solanne out at all times~" She dreamily looked up at the ceiling, rather enamored with that floor of the Tower, before focusing on Akiko again. "I take it you were having a more productive time joining the local government?"

Oh, she was a Ground-Type leader? Like, instead of Rock-Type? That made Skylar relax just a little bit. It was good to know that he was going into this with a decent advantage rather than a big disadvantage. Maybe things were going to turn out okay.

"Finding you in a sandstorm? Interesting challenge, but I'll be able to track you down!" Skylar responded to the idea of the challenge, reaching into his bag for the goggles he bought for this explicit purpose. They'd be nice to have on.

Alas, the sandstorm kicked up, and Skylar put on his Go-Goggles just to make sure he'd be fine. His sunglasses were passed to JoJo for the time being, who rocked them with absolute flair. "Alright, so if we can use any means at our disposal... Seabreeze and Paradise might be good for this." Skylar pulled the two Pokeballs out of his bag and flung them into the sky, letting out his pals.

"Wingull!" ... and Paradise was silent as usual.

"Okay you guys, we gotta find the gym leader! Breeze, keep an eye through the storm, since it's not nearly as bad on you as it is for me. JoJo, you do something similar with emotions, try to pin her down if you can. Paradise, stay on standby. We might need you to disrupt the sands every now and again... oh?"

Skylar felt the pull on his leg from JoJo, and was directed to the footprints in the sand.

"Footprints? But these have to be from a quadruped... wait, did Kristy return her Hippopotas?"

That was the sign for Skylar to start walking in that direction. He didn't use his cane, since it'd only be fuzzy anyway. The only thing acting as his eyes right now was going to be his pals, namely Seabreeze. "This way, towards the footprints! Seabreeze, call if you see her!"

"Wingull!" With the approval of the birds, the crew started their quest to find and beat Kristy.

The door to Akiko's room creaked open slowly as Kanbaru arrived, the bard stepping out slightly and staring the bluenette up and down, completely ignorant to her own nightgown being unbecoming of the facade she normally put on. With a flick of her tail, she opened the door and stood in the doorframe. From behind her manifested Castle, who spoke on her behalf in a way to keep secrecy. [ We trust that you'll keep your JSTR from any active hostility. ]

After the moment passed, Akiko brushed the hair out of her eyes and behind... where one of her human ears would go. Did she have them still? Eh, it didn't matter. "I heard something about a serei rejecting you earlier, Kanbaru. Come in, we've got quite a bit to discuss."

She stepped out of the way and let the door open completely so Kanbaru could enter. It'd be an interesting conversation for sure.

"Kirliaaa!" JoJo's glow had petered out after a brief little bit, the new evolution finally ringing in and appearing in full glory. Skylar grinning from ear-to-ear was enough to indicate how he felt regarding it. "So thats why you wanted to go a little more! Awesome, that oughtta help with the gym." Skylar pumped his fist in the air, Jojo spinning around to get closer to fist pump beside Skylar.

"How you feelin, little buddy?" Skylar asked his newly evolved friend, starting to walk towards the exit of the cave. The Kirlia responded with a simple nod, showing off a lot more confidence than before and, armed with this confidence, walked in front of Skylar with his head held high.

"Well alright. Next stop, the Raremine Gym." Skylar cracked his knuckles. The team seemed to be in good spirits already, so they didn't need to stop at the Pokemon Center first. Their eyes were set on the gym, and they were ready to give it their all yet again. Maybe it'd be like the Highhill Gym, just the gym leader going all out, or maybe Skylar'd have to fight some trainers first. Hopefully it'd be the former, since he didn't really think his team could get much stronger off of the Pokemon around here.

"W-well... that's at least good to know..." The catgirl finally skulked out of the shadows and back into the light, the snakes finally leaving the room due to someone knocking the stuffing out of them, and interestingly enough, Akiko seemed to be in okay shape. Granted, she looked like she had the stuffing knocked out of herself, as well, but her forearms seemed to be healing just fine, save the blood.

[ The tail blocking seemed to share damage between you and I. Apologies. ] Castle emerged from behind Akiko and slung dust off its forearms. Interestingly, to everyone else but Kanbaru, they'd only see the dust flying off, but Kanbaru could see the whole ghost doing just that. "Eh, it's fine Castle. I'll tough it out. Good thing we learned for the future."

The girl stepped out just in time to catch Kanbaru's rant about how the card rejected her. On one hand, that caught the girl off guard, cards being able to do that. On the other hand, this really wasn't too world-shattering, considering most cards seemed to have minds of their own in the first place anyway. Akiko could speak to her cards even if they weren't out, so a card rejecting her didn't seem to shock anyone's world. Still, something bugged her, and she stepped over to Kanbaru. Maybe if she could s-

And just like that, they were back in the Bunko, and Akiko stepped right into a table.

"KSSSS!" The girl hissed like a cat and stepped back, rubbing her hip that jammed into the side of the table and grumbling. "Yeah, okay, ow." She stepped away from the table and stepped over to the stairs, snapping her fingers towards Kanbaru. No sooner did Castle emerge from Kanbaru's own shadow and address her.

[ Miazaki wishes to speak with you later about that card issue you had, as well as understanding how you are able to see me. She's going to bathe and rest first, so she'll come get you when she is ready. It'll likely be a while. ]

And just as soon it showed up, Castle left, dissipating into a fine dust before completely disappearing.

"I'm taking a bath. We're taking a night here and we'll leave in the morning."

"Aaaalright! Good job, gang!" Skylar cheered on his pals as they finished up the first round of training. "We got a looot of solid training done there, everyone. Seriously, great job! We might be able to tackle the Gym today, actually. But before we do that..." Skylar took a quick look at JoJo. Something told him the Ralts was really close to a good point, and Skylar felt that in the mines they could juuust barely push it. That being said, the mines weren't offering as much to gain now, so Skylar made his decision.

"We'll take a break. We need to go find the gym, and we'll no doubt be able to get some more training done there for the rest of... you... guys?" Skylar found his attention grabbed by a specific ally, JoJo himself.

"... rall."

"Wait, you wanna try and grind this out? JoJo, are you sure?"

"Ralts!" The Ralts seemed adamant on his choice.

"... I guess it couldn't hurt. If it's just you training, we should be f-" cronch Skylar was interrupted by Pretzl biting his arm. "And in the ball you go. And you guys too, just so we can focus hard on JoJo's training."

And so Skylar was left with just Seabreeze on his head, and his Ralts as the only Pokemon out right now. He took a quick breath and then gave a confident smirk to his friends. "Alright, lets go JoJo. Let's see if we can't maybe squeeze a little more for you out of this mine."

IMMEDIATELY as Skylar woke up, he went over to the PC Box and boxed Jeebs. Nothing against Jeebs, but if this next gym was a Rock Type gym like he figured, then the 4x weakness wasn't great. He'd have a chance to shine later, certainly, but right now there was another team member on the way.

He left the Pokemon Center, heading towards the lab once again to go and finally pick up his new friend. Resurrection dude was a little over-the-top, but that was fine. Skylar held out his hands for the ancient bird, and smiled. "Howdy, bud. Welcome to the te-" cronch

The smile was interrupted by Skylar being bitten on the dome by the Archen. Seabreeze and Mac were watching on in disbelief.

"... oddly enough, you don't hurt that ba-
cronch monch
"O-Okay yeah, when you bite my glasses into my forehead it hurts, please sto-."
cronch
"And in the ball you go!" Skylar pulled out a Pokeball and put the Archen in it, rubbing his head. He finally looked at the resurrection guy and nodded. "Y-yeah. Sorry, I guess the new kid is a little interested in seeing what he can eat."

Skylar handed the Old Amber over to the Resurrection Guy. Assuming the same thing would happen, Skylar having to leave, he would leave after saying a quick thank you.

Once outside, Skylar went to go buy a quick snack of something to feed his new pal. Once he had procured a few sandwiches (for a ridiculously cheap price), he gave one to Seabreeze and one to Mac for them to snack on, and then he let out the Archen one more time.

"Arrrchen?!" The bird looked around before gleaming at Skylar and running over to bite his head once again. He was, however, interrupted by Skylar holding out a sandwich, and the bird instead chomped down half of it before Skylar sat down beside him and waited.

"Look, buddy, I think you're adorable but you can't bite random people, so... don't do that." Skylar took a bite out of his own sandwich as he watched Archen finish his. "Bet you're excited to see the world, though. We can definitely do that, for sure. Before we do, though, I need you to get a little stronger so if we get in a bind you can help bail us out."

Skylar put his hand down to the Archen. "Can I count on you, Pretzlcoatl?"

The Archen took a moment to finish eating the sandwich, before he brushed his head against Skylar's hand.

"Heheh, perfect. Let's get goin to the mines, then. We may be able to do a little more training and get you on par with the rest of the group." Skylar offered his head for Seabreeze to nest, who took it affectionately, and he coaxed Pretzl to climb into his arms from the ground (losing the lsat sandwich, but that was fine.)

With Mac running behind, the trainer and his team left off towards the mines once again to train.

"I have faith in my friends to not drag me in, Lady Victoire, and besides..." Her eyes momentarily met Ami's as she offered a grim smirk, not indicating whether it would be a stone cold bluff or a dangerous threat. "They should know better. Rafters." Around the finish of her statement, the gunshot from Annabel rang out from the rafters and freed Riku, the fight continuing forward on more even ground. Akiko considered getting involved for a moment before she simply fell backwards, purple light flowing through the normally green-starred brooch across the bard's chest, her kicking back in the air and watching as the fight unfolded. To others watching, she'd be floating in mid air, but the bard was aware of various applications of the purple relic. As long as she didn't overtax it, the vacuum would keep her afloat.

Gosh, all this talk about Light and Dark girls was boring, wasn't it? As fun as watching the girls fight was, the bard started to grow bored slightly of all this talk regarding target practice. Not that it wasn't useful, no it absolutely was. It helped her garner an idea of the 'friends' that she worked with. Castle would be the greatest asset if she needed to put any of them in their place, sure, but she still needed to be ready in case Castle alone wasn't enough.

Annabel admitted to stealing, or at least wanting to steal, something, though not the book, and Akiko leaned forward from air seat. Interesting that the newcomer and clear-witch of the combatants would willingly admit this to Victoire, but then again, Akiko wasn't too sure of the interpersonal dynamics of the vampire yet. That being said, she definitely could see just what was the target, the similar flash appearing here to see what was going on with Annabel and what she could learn.

"She stole a card, Lady Victoire. Bastion, I believe." Akiko spoiled the fun for the group and spoke to Victoire, a smile washing over her face. She glanced back at Annabel and smirked. Sure, that put a target on her head, but she figured that maybe the vampire queen to her side was a pretty formidable ally to work with.

Once the snake came into the room, Akiko stood from the sitting position she was in and immediately prepared herself, the purple light on her fading momentarily. Something was amiss about this snake, and when the gravity suddenly turned off, well, Akiko was immediately intrigued. While it would be nice for Akiko to just let the snake eat Annabel, maybe that wasn't the best idea overall. If this was as big of a threat as she made it out to be, keeping multiple people alive was the best course of action.

Her chest flashed, and the winds of fate sparked up behind Annabel and pulled her out of the way, over to Akiko specifically. While the gravity was off, there was still an atmosphere, meaning she could still use the winds to move. Similarly, if something wasn't initially affected by gravity anyway, it wasn't about to be now, correct?

Annabel would land beside Akiko and Victoire, if she kept going along that path. "Sorry to spoil earlier, but we've got bigger priorities. Push off the wall, get around the room like that, and use whatever you can to deflect and dodge. If you're in a tight spot, shout something and I'll try and worm you out of it." Castle manifested behind Akiko, though only for Kanbaru to see. "Keep yourself alive, and you may want to use that card. We've gotta be careful and we can't afford to lose."

Akiko's chest gleamed with green and she launched off the floor, cleanly flying up into the rafters with a throw from Castle. She had to bide her time, wait for a good opportunity, then she could go in for a strike...

"Maybe we shall come and assist in restraining this beast?"

"Maybe. Let's find an opening first..."

"Eheheh, about that bit with not telling people. Um, I had found Mesprit with a friend, actually. One of Professor Vivia's new trainers, like me, named Vivia. I don't... I don't think she would do anything rash or bad with the knowledge, though. In fact, she seemed like she was willing to help out with this as well, though she's... honestly, not the strongest trainer." He didn't want to mean any offense with that, but he felt like if push came to shove Skylar could handle her in a battle. Skylar nervously rubbed his arm as he remembered the other two that may be a problem. "There were two other trainers, too, that were there when Vivia and I were meeting with Azelf and Palkia. Oaken and Eryn. While Azelf chose Eryn to embark in their name, Oaken... I don't feel like he'd be good for anything. Seemed to be really focused on making teams without bonds in mind. I doubt either will be problematic, but just in case you needed to know that they know of all this. Outside of that... I don't think I've told anyone about any of this." Skylar genuinely couldn't remember if he did, so he shrugged.

When Zygarde was brought into the equation, though, things shifted a bit. "I think I remember some things about Zygarde from the books my dad had regarding Kalosian mythology. Whoever managed to break it..." Skylar shook his head. "Best not worry about that, I guess." He listened carefully as Dunstan explained the 'cube' that he put down on the table, and when the offer of Skylar taking it came up, well, Skylar nodded and gently grabbed the cube. "I intend on getting every badge. Couldn't hurt to look around while I search." He placed the Zygarde cube into his bag. "Plus, if I'm gonna be the strongest Flying Trainer in the whole region, I've gotta have some credit under my belt to truly hold it as a worthy title." He chuckled.

Skylar obtained the Zygarde Cube!

Mac ran up to Skylar, holding an empty beaker. "Combusken?"

"Wingull wing. Gull." Seabreeze immediately answered on Skylar's behalf.

"Comcombusken!"

"Wing."

"Combusken..." And just like that, Mac put down the beaker.

"Thanks, Breeze. Sorry about Mac moving that beaker, Professor. I'll keep an eye out for any cells, once I leave town with the gym badge, anyhow." Skylar offered a smile of confidence before he stepped over to the door. "Need me for anything else?"

If Skylar could leave, he was gonna go get some shut-eye and turn the world daytime, get some more training done later. If he was needed, he'd stay juuust a little longer.

"Okay, jeez." Skylar stepped back with Mac stepping forward, just a little bit. Skylar pulled him back by the shoulder and smiled. "Alright, then. Tomorrow morning."

... back to the present...

"Y-yes! A few things, actually." Skylar offered a wave and a smile to Florrie before he pulled out his Pokedex, flipping quickly through the few photos that had been taken before pulling up the few that would be of note. The photos of Entei, Mesprit, Palkia and Azelf to be specific. "I read outside that you were specialized in Legendary Pokemon research, and I figured that maybe some of these photos might be of use. Entei, from the plains near Highhill, sometimes it goes to catch a Mareep from one of the farmers. Mesprit, lake guardian, very secretive but very playful. Azelf and Palkia, well, both at the bottom of a grand sort of depth, though I doubt they're wanting any sort of company..." Skylar trailed off for a moment before he looked down at his wrist. "I... uh, actually have a bit of a deeper connection to Mesprit. They chose me for something, actually. Something big is going on in Worldedge, apparently, and I was willing to try and help out when I got there."

Skylar jangled the Crystals of Emotion in front of Dunstan and Florrie. "Was going to go find Uxie and get another badge or two before I made it there. Raremine here was actually one of my stops, and I was training in the mine when... well..." He pointed over to Florrie. "Florrie and I met there when some Virtues were looking for something. She said you guys might need help with something?"

Seabreeze and Mac looked around the lab at all the pretty artifacts and objects, Mac in particular looking up at the green beakers and crowing softly with how pretty the place looked. Skylar reached up to scratch along the had of Seabreeze in particular, who cooed with some joy.

"Oh right, uh... Professor Dunstan, Florrie. This is Seabreeze, and that-" Skylar pointed over at the Combusken in the corner. "is Mac. Two of my team members that I couldn't do any of this without."
