I hope it's accurate? :D

Daniel Wilton

It wasn't looking good. An enemy south, within sniper range, and within range of two cruxi squads. Magus crouched among the buildings at the edge of the battlefield, Daniel trying to take stock of their situation. Even as he saw his allies bursting into action, he still remained, useless. It was probable that he could escape action by fleeing to sector A1, but that was just delaying his demise. He wasn't capable of outdistancing any of the nearest Cruxi, and if they ignored him they would just target the main group to the south. He would stay.

Magus crept along the edge of buildings, Daniel's fingers dancing across the console, looking for a spark of power. Maybe if he held still just long enough, he could reengage the electrical field. On the nav, he could see the others making their moves- and they horrified him. There was nothing to do but wait, and hope. He just had to keep out of sight of the sniper, avoid being gunned down by one, or both of the cruxi squads, and not be shredded by the tentacle beast that no doubt would be hunting him. Unfortunately, hide-and-go-seek was never his favorite VR scenario to train in. The sound of gunfire was tapping away a sector away, and Daniel couldn't decide what would be worse- being torn apart by a tentacle monster, or willingly watching the same happen to someone else. Carefully, he brought Magus upright, one hand one the toggle for the electrical field, splitting glances between his display and the capacitor monitoring system. Give me juice- come on. He had Magus pick up an evacuated civilian vehicle with its one good arm and lobbed it towards sector C2. Give me something.

I'll post after Dragon does
Vamyr Turambar

In his dash out the door, Vamyr barely caught sight of Thurin entering the stables, and shrugged his pack from his shoulders, turning to head out past the inn and towards the main bulk of town. ”Fire! The town is on fire!” The moment the flames hit the thatch of the inns roof, it would make a pyre visible for leagues, both a good and bad thing. He stopped to slam a fist against a door here and there before slowing, pausing to lean against a building and pant as some of the men and women of the village came out of their homes in varying states of dress, most armed with buckets and pots to fight the fire. As people passed, he bent down to tie his boots feeling the shock of the night wear away. I failed.

...

Vamyr came back out of the night at the sound of Ofnir's call, tying off a piece of cloth ripped from one of the inn's curtains around his left arm and pulling his sleeve back over it. He nodded in appreciation towards the dwarf and silently tied his pack and replaced the saddlebags on poor Fred who glared at him in response to the weight. Turambar pulled his cloak around himself more tightly and guide the horse closer to the main group. He put a foot up and mounted his horse, using the extra height to more easily watch their immediate surroundings. He was already sore and tired from the fast pace he had taken to come this far north so quickly, fighting and running about, and now willpower was just enough to keep his eyes open. Hopefully they could be done with this business quickly enough to find a decent place to rest.
I will be posting within the next few hours!
Just an update:

I am going to be out of town until next saturday, so depending on conditions I may get out another phone post dependent on data coverage. If not... well you can expect Vamyr to go for his horse and search for the nearest signal fire to set off ;)
Well, in that case, I can only wish you guys good luck. All issues present in the south are equally present/amplified in the north. Of course, East is technically an option, but I haven't bothered looking into that.
@Ammokkx Excellent points. I was thinking of AA-XOTRY engaging the tentaclebeast diagnolly, as you said. If you ARE safe from the one in the east, then Eiswolf could assist Yeager in attacking the squad. (Shoot, and then move towards the squad, relying on AA-XOTRY to take out the tentacle in the time it takes you to shoot and move.)

As you said, it is unlikely that Yeager could eliminate the squad, but one or two members of a cruxi squad make far better opponents than facing off the forces in the north. There are two squads in the north, which would be harder to defeat than any single squad together.

@Ariamis
I'll add it to the CS, danke :D
@Dragoknighte@Ammokkx@AtomicNut
Combat Strengths
AA-XOTRY - Melee
Yeager - Short-Medium
Eiswolf - Long

The way I look at it, only three Mechas are battle capable, which leaves us with the ability to eliminate only three targets. All the other enemies will be able to hit, and hit hard. So the objectives here are to eliminate key targets in addition to moving to a position that will allow for the least amount of repercussion from enemy fire.

I have three estimates based on map changes and their actions.
-I estimate that all three tentacle beasts can get close enough to engage the main group. (Eiswolf, Yeager, AA-XOTRY)
-I estimate that all three Cruxi squads can engage the group- (Assuming they have short-medium range weaponry, based on their shooting at Harold's corpse from previous position.)
-The sniper is currently only in position to engage Magus, but possibly can move enough to engage others.

Also, note that Magus's capacitors are on a cooldown. They will weaponized and able to fire four posts from now. (Which is a LONG time.)

Options:
Stationary:
If the group remains stationary, no matter which three targets are engaged, another three will be able to attack with no repercussion, with possible additional sniper fire. Group has low chance of survival.

North:
If the main group moves two sectors north, and elimates three targets, (Likely B3, C2, B6) this will leave the group vulnerable to potential sniper fire(H1) and in range of at least one Cruxi squad (E2). It is also possible that the superior movement would allow the tentacle in E6 to engage in B3. This option leaves 1-3 possible attackers. (Assuming the southern cruxi squad can't engage effectively due to repositioning.) Group+Magus may have a chance of surviving.

South:
If the main group moves two sectors south and abandons Magus, eliminating targets in sectors B6, B7, and E6, they should be out of the attack range of all other enemies excepting possibly the squad in B3. As a bonus, enemies taking the time to eliminate Magus will be temporarily stalled, giving the group a chance to reposition. Highest chance of group survival. Negligible chance of Magus surviving.

The options really depend on the tactical importance of Magus. The weapons are on a huge cooldown, so his only possible use would be to take down MIST. (GM labeled the LEL as medium range while moving, long stationary.) However, the Northward option is risky and could very well cripple the squad.

I recommend abandoning Magus in favor of better position and lower chance of mass casualties. (Also, PDF might be of some help.)
Sorry about the lateness, honestly I have had some time towards night to post sunday, and opted to sleep instead. X_x

Here it is though! Back to the main concern... our horses. Always the horses.
