Hello,
I am Gordoth Enodious. I call myself that way. It is not my actual name, but for the purposes of a forum I'll remain Gordoth.
Concerning my experience with roleplaying, I cannot say I am experienced, but neither can I say I am inexperienced. I have tried roleplaying, but I've never managed to hold a group together for any longer than, say, three or four days, as they lost interest in the process. I consider myself literate, but I'd think everyone on this here forum IS literate.
In connection to the preferences I display when dealing with roleplaying, I'd say I have two, those being Fantasy and Science Fiction, however I am more than interested in participating in all kinds of activities hosted by the Guild.
And about me. I am a rookie writer of fiction literature. I enjoy playing video games of all kinds. As is to be expected by one who visits forums such as this one, I am more keen on experiencing stories. I enjoy reading all kinds of literature, I partake in the viewing of many movies and I relish in observing art.
That's about as much as is needed, I'd say. Overall, consider me a jack of all trades. I will ask for tips and explanations, as I am not familiar with the process of roleplaying on a forum. I am enthusiastic about all of this, so holler if you feel like it.
"You can not understand me. Not because it is something that can not be understood, but because you lack the knowledge needed. You can not understand, simply because you have not lived. Only once you have seen that, which I have seen, will you be able to see something. Only once you experience the horrors, experienced by myself, will you understand. Through living after the suffering I have lived through, will you understand. Are those things you can experience? Are those things you can go through in one hundred years, eighteen of which you lack the clarity of mind needed to be human? I fear it is not possible. I fear that becoming human, at this moment, depends on understanding. But not everyone can understand. Why, then, is it that you are all considered humans? None of you seek to understand each other. None of you even seek to understand others. I fear it. I fear this thing, which you call human, is not what truly is a human. You have lost the understanding of the word you use to describe yourselves. Without knowing what you are, without understanding it... You can not understand me."
The bartender, who was a lanky, old man, took a long, hard look at the orc, then glanced at the drunken paladin, who's tab had grown quite large, and then turned around to look for some water. He walked into a room behind the counter, grabbed a mug and dipped it into a barrel of clear liquid. It WAS water, but what good was water anyway? It was dirty most of the time, and people got sick by drinking it. The lanky, old man returned and found the orc still waiting. Fair enough, the coins were also there... A little dirty, but dirty water got you dirty coins.
"Here you go, lad. Have her avoid breaking anything else..." Whined the bartender and placed the mug on the counter, right in front of the green skinned fellow. The old man's long fingers picked up the coins and dropped them in a sack on his belt.
The trek up the mountain was a pleasant experience. The snowy peaks glimmered under the rays of the Sun, creating a beautiful scenery to ease the burden of the backpack, armor, sword and heavy fur coat. Cunkuu was told that more knowledge, and to an extent power, could be found in the Mountain Temple, so he set off without giving it much thought. His steps, although made heavier than the thick piece of weather protective clothing, were still lighter than the stride of the average human.
As he walked up the path, a pleasant view was revealed to him. The small bit of roofing, separating the earth and the chasm beneath a wiggling rope bridge, allowed him to rest up against one of the beams for a moment. A heavy sigh escaped his lips, but the warm breath was kept in by the red, spiked mask. Cunkuu perceived the absence of movement as a strange sign. Could it be the people who lived here were resting now? Or were they always lost in a meditative state? Or were they not here?
He allowed himself to ignore those thoughts and started making his way over the wiggling, rickety old bridge. He did not look down at his feet for even a moment, opting instead to enjoy the sight of the ancient temple. He reached the stairs successfully, and began his ascent. Eventually his feet carried him to a chamber, filled, to the brim, in his opinion, with sokushinbutsu. In its center, a large field of white, completely still, sand. What caught his attention was the sitting man, who could only be a monk.
"Greetings, wise monk! I have come here to earn the knowledge held within these halls!" Greeted Cunkuu, removing his backpack and plopping it on his left.
Okay, @Bishop@Lady Selune@FalloutJack@OrkytheOrc@Rockerman403, things are getting animated so let each other get some breathing space and get into a spirit of how the pace would go. What's happening now looks great, so try to keep it up. And @Fetzen, you still have an opportunity to make an appearance in the tavern, or you could pop out somewhere outside of it.
Orky approaching you would mean its your turn. Also, @Lady Selune should probably get to say a word or two to Urdal concerning the job. Poor sod got a lot on his plate today :D
He instantly regretted his decision to say that he was still hiring. The stench of alcohol was permeated within the tavern, but this one woman seemed to be far more intoxicated than Numenar could have hoped to ever be, concluded Urdal as he pulled back a tad. This was definitively not what he had, proverbially, signed up for. She was a woman that had once served the Gods. No idea as to which God it had been, as there were no definitive features he could recognize, although he was not well versed in those matters.
"Yes, work!" He quipped weakly, trying his best not to breathe in again, at least not while as close to her as he was. What with the orc standing to the left of him, the frame of the nonexistent door of the corridor behind him, and her obstructing his front and right. A gulp preceded his attempts to pull away from the woman without making her feel too unwanted or disliked. He threw a glance to Orky and mouthed 'help me'.
