”Is it entertaining to be a complete idiot? I wouldn’t know, honestly.”
Name: Lester Astrante
Appearance: Lester stands at 5'8'', making him taller than most. He has pitch black, shaggy hair that he takes care of more than he would like to admit. His eyes are of a captivating gray color and more than once has he been told that they are really, really captivating..... by his own mother. His glasses are of a thing alloy resembling steel, but many are uncertain of whether that is really the case or if he is just trying to impress others.... as most always.
He sports a slim physique, and he is clearly no athlete, but that doesn't stop him from wearing skin tight clothing most always, albeit because he finds them to be the most comfortable clothes, and the ones that suit him the best.
He almost always uses a jacket to look formal, dress shirts and black pants. He also has a card holder strapped to his tight, holding a deck of cards to use in his magic. He used to have a holster strapped to his chest, but wishing to leave his past as an edgy teenager he has since then stopped wearing it.... though he still has the tanline from that one time he took it to the beach.
Age: 17
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Occupation: Student
Personality: Just one word that you should know about him: Smug, arrogant bastard.
Lester is smart, there’s no denying that. He almost always is reading up on something he doesn’t know about, and firmly believes that knowledge equals power. While he might be right about that, many would say that power is not equals to being above others. Some will say that this is completely right, whilst others, like Lester, will laugh and say ”Then, what is the point of power?”
Lester is, without a doubt, one of the most annoying people you’ll ever meet. With quite a mouth on him, smart-assy comments and the very, very bad habit of correcting others while they are speaking, Lester is even hated by the teachers.
All of this, of course, is to hide the feeble, weak man inside. Afraid of being judged, afraid of being humiliated, he often tries to fuck others over before they fuck him up. Bad thing is, his bravado is not shaken by physical threats…. he’s way past over those. What really frightens him is someone that knows more than he does… if you are to prove his knowledge and intelligence wrong, then his facade will crumble, reverting him back to the shy, introverted and scared man-child he is.
He hides it from most people, but he is an avid nerd, geek, otaku or any other derogatory adjective you’d like to use to describe his liking to read fantasy books and whatever comics are available to him.

Biography: The son of a respected military commander, Lester’s reputation from the get-go should’ve been agreeable…. if his father were still alive, that is.
Having been labeled a traitor for being suspected of trading information with foreign countries, the man was taken off his post and discharged without honors. Nothing too grave, right? Well, that’s where you’re wrong….
Days later after this, the man was killed in cold blood as he was buying groceries. Rumor has it the government wanted to silence him, but the official description is that he was killed by a random junkie that wanted to rob him.
Since then, Lester has been seen as the son of a traitor, and people always take care of reminding that fact to him.
Psychological reports say that this is why he prefers to keep to himself rather than to speak with others, and why most always keeps others at an arm’s distance with his being arrogant and forceful.

If you’ve had any experience with comics, you know this is not just a cheap parlor trick…. even less so if Lester really wants to hurt you.
He is able to manipulate cards at will, any number of them, as well as creating constructs with them that he can also move with his magic.
Interests: He is really into comics and he will read whatever he can get his hands on. He would’ve probably been a fan of anime, manga and video games if he had lived in the old world, but oh well.
Skills:
- Speed reading. Lester can read as much as a 1,500 words per minute and in good days he can read up to 5 books a day.
- Marksmanship. Lester is adept at using firearms, something his father taught him from a young age.
- Magic tricks. The kind that need cards. He picked up in elementary to make friends, but has since then become more adept just because he likes it.
- Weapon Knowledge. Lester knows how to thoroughly put guns apart, put them back together and clean them. Any gun he sets his sights on is probably one he already knows. Combining this with his proficiency towards using them make him quite the fanatic for guns.
