I think you've missed Nex's point. He's saying that those that have agreed to help out at a Gay/Homo pride event are not likely to be the bigots who'd be "scarred" by seeing this stuff. They might be surprised by the crazier aspects, but that's all.

I understood completely, but you forget that there are different levels of tolerance to homosexuality. MOST het guys I know are fine with "straight-acting" homosexuality, but still openly despise any flamboyant or "extra" behaviors, i.e. assless chaps, speedos/jockstraps, crazy costumes and hitting on str8 guys. Contrary to what you believe, this is the mentality of most heterosexual LGBTQ-supporters.

Griever, I'm sure that if they were the sort of people that would be extremely upset by the behaviours that you've displayed, they would've declined attending a gay pride parade in the first place.The most you'll get from them is probably a bit of surprise at how far some people go.

I work in corporate, so Griever IRL or online =/= Griever @ work.
If I acted the same at work as I do outside, I'd be fired in an hour flat.

Also It's not a parade. The Pride PARADE is one of the events held during Pride Week, probably the most mild, but it's not the only event. Pride Week consists of about 9 events during June 24th - June 29th.

Our volunteer thing is 2 events held during Pride Week called "Dance on the Pier" and "VIP Rooftop Party 'We Party: Presented by Masterbeat'"

The IT company I started working for in summer of last year has this silly pleb policy which requires employees to do 10 hours of community service annually. Every so often, they'll send out emails about corporate-sponsored volunteer events. This year, I alerted the outreach team that NYC Homo/Gay Pride is coming up (June 28th-29th), thus the people who slacked on volunteering for the rest of the year can make it up in one weekend. The email was sent out and has already gotten a few RSVPs, mainly some of the heterosexual men on staff, who believe they'll simply be helping out at some fancy gay cocktail party.

Little did they know, there's going to be all sorts of deviants and sweaty, drunken, shirtless (and less) menz at this event.
