Summer break is upon me! Woo Hoo! Roleplaying, Warhammer (Age of Sigmar), writing a book, and the gym are my main activities for the next nine weeks.

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books for 50 years. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.
I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about fifteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.
When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons (Edition 1 & 2). Later editions came out after I quit that game. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts. I love doing this form of role play, especially since I have a solid foundation on the past.
There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.
I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.
Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over four years ago. :(]
Almost two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Currently, I try to limit my stories to one at a time. Unfortunately, I rarely find one I enjoy and others are willing to write in. When I do, they die way too early. Jacob Gauthier was born and raised in Concord, NH. His family is still there. After he came home from Iraq in 2003, he got a job on the Springfield Terminal Railway, and became reacquainted with his High School Sweetheart, Helen Mansen. They got married in 2005 and bought the house on Mulberry St. in 2007 just after Jacob Jr. was born.
The children attend public school in Huddeen with all three in Huddeen High School. Jacob's wife Helen is active in the PTO at school and Jacob spends much of his time away from the family's house working for the Railroad. Helen has many friends in the community and is well liked. Jake's connections are stronger in Concord where he grew up and since his job has him on the road quite often, he just hasn't taken time to get to know too many people in town. He is acquainted with his immediate neighbors on Mulberry St.
The children have many friendship connections all over town. Jake Jr. is a Senior and four-year varsity Track and Cross Country member. Jennifer is a Junior and plays tennis in the spring getting mostly As and a few Bs on her report cards. Jake jr. gets As, Bs, and a few Cs on his report card and can't wait to get out of High School. Kyle plays the trumpet in the High School marching band and plays Dungeons and Dragons with his friends. Kyle loves to dream about science fiction which he has a voracious reading appetite for. He is working towards a 4.0 GPA his freshman year of high school.

Jake is truly concerned for other people. He loves his family and appreciates them very well. He has long standing friendships with the men he served in combat with in Iraq and would do anything for them. He appreciates the friendships he has with the men he works with on the Railroad which was bought out by CSXT Corporation two years ago. He feels he is appreciated at work and at home. He loves and trusts his wife supporting her in everything she gets into.
When Jake was a boy his father, William often took him and his twin brother John hunting. Uncle Bob would often go on these hunting trips with Jake, his brother John and his father. Uncle Bob served in Vietnam in the USMC in 1969 - 1970. His father never served in the military. Uncle Bob has two daughters and no sons. He never considered bringing his daughters hunting. It was not something you did then.
In more recent times, Jake and his twin brother John often take Jake Jr. and Kyle on hunting trips just like they did when they were children. Like Uncle Bob, John only had daughters and no sons. Again, he never considered bringing his daughters hunting and they never pushed the idea.
Jake Gauthier is very close to his brother and parents. He often calls his mom and dad in Concord as well his brother who is married to Lisa (Kennedy) and live in Concord with their daughters Stella (12) and Penny (10). Any chance he gets, he drives up to Concord to visit family. His sister Leslie lives in Durham, NH with her husband Ed Welcome and their three children, Norman, Grace and Adam. Norman is actually an illegitimate child Leslie had before she married Ed Welcome. Professor Welcome teaches History at the University of New Hampshire. Jake's sister Clarice is married to George Allen who runs his own auto repair shop in Concord. They have five children; Pam (15), Jackson (11), Marylin (9), Nick (7), and Boden (5).
Helen's family is also from Concord, NH. They are of Irish descent and the young woman fell in love with her high school sweetheart as teenagers. After graduating High School, Jake wanted to break up with Helen so she wouldn't feel tied down at home while he was off playing at being a soldier in the US Army. She realized, he did this to set himself free to get into whatever mischief he wanted while he was traveling the world. She knew in her heart there was no one else for her and decided to wait for her one true love to return home. He did.
Helen chose to support her husband and her children anyway she could. She has a lot of close friends in Huddeen and the women of the PTO work together to help one another out. Helen was an attractive woman in High School and still is. She was not as confident then as she is now. She knows her mind and is not afraid to share it. She does keep physically fit with running and working out in the gym.

Jake Junior idolizes his father. He knows he is a veteran like Uncle John who served in the Marine Corps, but doesn't ask his dad too many questions. He is aware some veterans don't like to talk about any bad things they may have done in their past. Maybe there is something he is ashamed of? Jake just doesn't ask even though he is extremely curious and has considered joining the military after school.
Jake dates Tessa Hempstead a junior who happens to be friends with his sister, Jennifer. The two have been dating for a year and fawn over one another frequently. Jake's mother Helen often compares Jake Jr and Tessa to herself and his father Jake Senior.
Jake is considering going to a trade school either during or after the military to become an electrician later in life. He does not want to work on the railroad and does not want to go to school. His mother would love for him to go to college, but knows they cannot afford it.

Her Uncle Eddie is a professor and UNH and she may consider studying biology, nursing or pre-med at the Durham, NH campus to get a degree.

Kyle is a big fan of Star Wars and Star Trek. Most people choose one or the other, but he enjoys both. He often dreams of being a Jedi Knight or flying in space aboard the Starship Enterprise. He spends a lot time writing creatively in his journals and he has several. He has considered publishing a novel, but most of his writing is incomplete as he jumps to different ideas too frequently. Kyle has at least five close friends who play DnD with him frequently. He plays Hockey as a Defenseman, but he is not that good at it. He does not dream of one day playing for the Boston Bruins.

I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts. I love doing this form of role play, especially since I have a solid foundation on the past.<br><br>There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.<br><br>I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017. <br><br>Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over four years ago. :(]<br><br>Almost two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government.
