Physical Description Kenshin stands at 157cm (5'3") and sports a slim yet athletic physique. Having spent a good portion of his life helping his father in the fishery, Kenshin has a habit of wearing work clothes when not in uniform. Contradictory of his intense storm gray eyes, Kenshin constantly maintains a bright smile on his face and keeps his long black hair in a messy ponytail. When his quirk is in its active state, his entire body also exhibits a dull neon glow.

Personal History Born to a small town in Northern Japan to a Fisherman, and his Korean wife; Kenshin always felt out of place among his peers. He was teased, mocked and humiliated daily for his distinct Korean features, and the fact that he'd yet to present a quirk for his first years of school certainly didn't help in the slightest. The only escape from the constant barrage of insults and degradation Kenshin could find was by immersing himself in the fantastical world of pro heroes and daydreaming about what it would feel like to be one himself. On Kenshin's eighth birthday, his quirk manifested for the first time-- needless to say the boy's parents were shocked to find an ecstatic glowing child smiling down at them from the ceiling over their bed. For the first time in his life, Kenshin felt not just welcomed by his peers, but celebrated. Whether it was a ball on a roof, a kite in a tree, or the box of cookies on the top shelf; Kenshiro could get them all with a showy representation of his new abilities. Consumed by a childish sense of pride, he thought no feat to be beyond his reach. Ever eager to prove himself, and garner more of the newfound popularity and respect he had grown to crave, he recklessly pushed himself even further with every passing day. Kenshiro's tenth birthday was the day it all came crashing down. A single balloon from the humble celebration had taken off into the sky-- everyone had said to let it go, but the boy didn't listen; he'd done a simple trick countless times indoors, and was convinced that it would be no different outside. By the time Kenshin realized his mistake, he was hundreds of meters above the ground. Fear choked froze the air in his lungs as panic caused his quirk to go wild; shaking him like a doll in the hands of an angry toddler before sending him plummeting. Though he'd been lucky enough to have a pro hero save him before he hit the ground, Kenshin's confidence would never recover. Everything he'd built within those last two years had crumbled away in a matter of weeks, rather than tormented, he was shunned with silent pity. As time passed, Kenshiro had eventually stopped practicing with his quirk entirely and resolved within himself that he would instead take over the fishery from his father rather than become a hero like he'd dreamed for so long. After all, how could he be a hero if he couldn't even protect himself? One afternoon while helping his father on the fishing boat, the aging man pulled his son aside to talk. The old fisherman revealed to his Kenshin that he had once dreamed of being a hero himself, but he'd flunked out during his second year. He knew the pain of watching a dream crumble to dust, and for years he'd been pinching every penny he could, just so he could give his son a second chance to reach that elusive dream-- and become a hero; for both of them.
Character Development & Conceptualization Much like his quirk defies the gravity, Kenshin is meant to embody the spirit of overcoming fear, past failures, and self-doubt. Weighed down with a paralyzing fear of heights, and a traumatic event that nearly ended his life, I'd like to see Kenshiro take full advantage of this second chance at herodom, pushing both himself and those around him to break free from the insecurities that keep them from being the best heroes they can be. My vision for Kenshin is a character who has already lost their own ambition, and is instead kept going by the ambition of those around him, such as his father. This is why despite his insecurities, he strives to push others forward, and by supporting their dreams, maybe, just maybe, it might rekindle some part of that fire he lost years ago.
Abilities & Talents
Quirk Type Emitter
Quirk Description Personal Gravity (個人の重力 Kojin no jūryoku): Kenshin's quirk allows him to generate g-forces and apply them to his own body, effectively allowing him to walk on any (reasonably) flat surface. Currently, Kenshin can output a total force of 2g, but can individually apply each g forward, backward, up, down, left, or right. So far, there are only three ways to effectively cancel the effects of Kenshin's Personal Gravity; by Kenshins's own volition, if Kenshin is incapacitated, or if Kenshin is hit with an emp. Due to nearly killing himself with his quirk in the past, Kenshin outright refuses to activate his quirk midair, and will only utilize it with his feet within arm's length of the surface he intends to walk on.
Other Talents & Attributes Let's set sail!: Countless hours helping his father with his fishing boat has made Kenshin incredibly familiar with the operation of various forms of watercraft. Can I get down please?: Kenshin suffers from a paralyzing fear of heights. I'm a little rusty...: Due to his accident, Kenshin isn't as adept with his quirk as he used to be. You can do it!: Despite how he's been treated in the past by people around him, Kenshin can't help but cheer on his peers at every available opportunity..... Even if it's embarrassing as hell.
