As Akira continued to follow his Sensei, traveling at Sayuri's side behind the other three he began to consider what might lie ahead. The bloodied cloth did indeed suggest that the there had been an attack, it was almost certainly the traitor as well as nobody else had any reason to be out there, though the question who or what had inflicted the wound? While a wild animal was certainly a possibility it wasn't very likely, most creatures were docile and not many would attack a person in the trees. The only other reasonable explanation was another person or group was behind this and given that the traitor was nowhere to be seen meaning he had either escaped from them, been taken by them or was working with them, Hirudora's words indicated this was indeed the case. Eventually he broke his silence and called out. "Hirudora! Can you deduce whether the other individuals are from this land or another? It may offer some insight as to what we can expect to face and where they might be heading."

Akira's gaze then shifted from the front to Sayuri, the one team member he knew the least about and had barely even spoken to. Glancing forwards to see Chinatsu's back he considered the relationship he had established with her, it wasn't quite a friendship but it was certainly an uneasy trust, he just hoped that when the time came they'd be able to work together as her long range archery and his close quarters swordplay could prove a lethal combination if used effectively. His head then turned back to Sayuri and he spoke once more. "Sayuri, what combat techniques do you use? While the topic of conversation wasn't typical or especially interesting for Akira it was very relevant and could potentially lead to more talking between the two, and that wouldn't be a bad thing.
Yes that sounds fine to me.
Angus will probably go with it, if not for destiny then to make sure Ekra doesn't get into trouble.
For Yanto the past week had been a fairly hectic one, first getting called off a drug bust to head down to HQ then a meeting with the chief and getting shown the news broadcast regarding the return of Kira and then his...Promotion, if it could be called that. Head of a new investigation task force to investigate Kira, he'd been given access to all the records from the previous incident and honestly things didn't look good. This appeared to be the work of a copy cat killer and while there was certainly plenty of evidence and knowledge to go on, the previous task force had not one but three geniuses working with them. The worst part was that Yanto knew there were people much more qualified to be doing this but the higher ups had put him in charge because of one reason, not his intelligence, not his numerous high profile arrests but because he was expendable, it didn't matter if he failed and died and because of that he was likely going to be cut off from the rest of the police force unless absolutely needed.

As he sat looking over the 3 members he had on his task force so far, each one feverishly scrawling through lists of Light Yagami's known associates and potential methods of luring the killer out. On the plus side this killer was obviously not intent on being covert, they were also inexperienced and made several mistakes that allowed L to work out Light's location. Killing criminals only shown on national television, targeting those who committed crimes that Kira deemed evil, they were most definitely one of his worshipers. So far the only real option Yanto's team had was to sit and wait for something to happen, he at least wanted to wait until his request to access Light's old death note was approved or denied, then he would make his first move.
Breeze sat atop a create in the store room of The Leviathan munching on an apple and getting lost in thought, thinking back to how he'd ended up in his current situation. He wasn't quite sure how he ended up a part of this war, he wasn't quite sure how he had ended up on the side of Chaos either. It was probably the rumours he'd heard, the wealth mostly, the freedom sounded nice as well and then there was the fact that he wouldn't be stuck hanging around a bunch of goodie two shoes but that meant a lot hanging around fairly terrifying creatures like that clown guy. With a slight shudder he finished off his apple and headed up onto the main deck before tossing the fruit over the edge, he spotted the group boarding and wondered what was happening. Despite being competent he wasn't really in the loop, for the most part he just did recon and scavenging missions, finding whatever he needed and pinching things from the Cosmos and generally avoiding fights if he could.

Giving a mock salute to the others as they boarded the airship, Breeze called out. "Ahoy there! Where're we heading out to?" He leant against the railings of the ship and cocked his head to the side. "Something big going down?" Fixing his bandana slightly he grinned and stretched his arms upwards. "Gonna' be nice to get out of the rift." Chatting and putting on a smile was the best way Breeze found to deal with the others, putting on a front of slight naivety meant most of the time they didn't ask too much of him not did they try to make long and dull conversation, it was he who would try to speak first.
Would the police not have Light's death not in evidence storage or would Ryuk have taken it back?

Born the son of a Japanese banker and an American bar owner Yanto had a fairly normal upbringing until his 17th birthday saw the death of both his parents in an arson attack. The culprit was never apprehended and it was this that lead him down the career path of the police, he gradually worked his way up the ranks and gained himself a representation as an efficient and creative officer of the law, even planning and taking part in a number of undercover operations.

Akira let out a quiet sigh as he heard the bad news, wasn't this summon supposed to be an expert tracker? Maybe the traitor was smarter than they had anticipated, maybe they were planning to double back on themselves and take another route. The boy reached into his tool pack and rooted around before taking out an extra kunai, a smoke bomb and some wire. He swiftly attached the the bomb to the wire then tied the wire to the two kunai before throwing them at two trees to create a small low level trip wire. "If he tries to come back this way we should be able to see the smoke from pretty far away." He said, bending over and testing the wire by flicking it with his index finger.

Standing back up to his full height, Akira looked over to Chinatsu who was pacing. "Getting worked up about it won't help," He said, shrugging slightly. "the best thing we can do is get back to our patrol and hope that Sensei and Sayuri have better luck." Which that said he put his hands behind his head and started trying to work out the quickest way back to their original course. It was just as he began working out how they could cut back to where they left off that Hiroshi spoke up over the headsets.

Akira moved a hand to his own communicator and replied to his Sensei. "On our way!" He then looked over to Hirudora and Chinatsu. "Same formation as last time, let's move." He wasn't ordering the two, simply stating what they already knew, after those short words he leapt to the nearest tree, pulling himself up the branches then setting off, cutting across land to head directly to where the other two were. He tapped his communicator once they were moving at a good pace. "Sensei, you and Sayuri should probably follow the lead, no sense in waiting around for us when you could be tracking the traitor, right?" As he said that Akira looked over his shoulder to Chinatsu, asking her as much as he was his Sensei.
Looks like we have two police/investigators and two Death Note users, maybe the GM can be the Shinigami?
I'll probably end up being a human, possibly a member of the police. If that's ok.
