I want to post my character as a WIP to let you guys know what's going on. I will rework the genjutsus a bit as I'm not quite satisfied with how they turned out. I'm after techniques that uses the victims mind against themselves if someone has any suggestions.

@MMGiru I've had a look at your character WIP.

@The Mad Hatter I didn't say "master" but *add* as in he can have more chakra natures even if he can only wield one. And I didn't ask, would our characters progress in skill as they adventure, like reaching Jounin level for example? And...hmmmm, do you plan on making us encounter the almighty M.?

Here's my take on the chakra natures.
To start out with I agree with the hatter on this one, adding a second element would be unwise at this point.
Starting out with two elements too early in the characters progress would only dilute the effectiveness of both I fear. Or as Ron Swanson would say "Never half-ass two things, whole-ass one thing."
Why do people discover their elements?
I see two possibilities. The first one is discovered by accident or by automation (You're an Uchiha = your element is fire).
The second one would be by searching for it, doing some kind of test to figure it out. Learning a new technique or inserting nature chakra in an old technique takes time. Remember the kind of work it took to create wind rasengan?
So if you have one element to work with already, and are learning/developing techniques for that element (which takes time and effort) you really have no interest in adding to your burden by figuring out your secondary element.

When do you want to figure out your next element?
Basically, when you're stuck.
When you've reached a level where you just can't go any further with your current tools (elements, jutsus, training techniques etc) and needs to find new tools to work with to change your perspective, create a more varied arsenal... When you really gain something.
Naruto didn't work on his wind element because he thought it would be cool to have a new technique. He was pretty much told that in order for him to move on and grow stronger he had to learn nature manipulation. He was stuck in his development and nature would get him unstuck.

As I cannot see such a stuckness in this character I would advice to keep the second element for in-game development.
This is based on my own work/training with martial arts. You don't learn new things until you've learned the old things. If you've learned the old things, learn new things. Can't learn the things? Change your perspective and try again.

About the progression in the game:
Yes, the plan is that we're going to gain skills, knowledge, power, coolness, money, bubblegum and bitches (perhaps not in that order).
However we cannot say for certain exactly what we/you will face as it is VERY dependant on what we as players want to do and how our characters reacts to it. At the start of the game we will be severely under-powered and almost all ninjas we face will have some form of structural advantage over us (fighting in/as a team, being connected to a village, having real training and a metric ton of practice behind them etc) and so the best thing is to stick together. As we grow stronger and understand the world better we might split up to go after personal goals. We can't really decide. The game is as much about exploration as personal growth.
'Cause fuck Denmark. We're only good for booze, smokes and loose women.

I was talking about Denmark-Sweden, cheers. :P
Also, is it weird that all these countries at war so often use the same currency? I was wondering if it's minted in Tetsu no Kuni, or something, given their neutrality.

That's quite an interesting point, and I do believe you might be on to something. Tetsu no kuni (land of iron) and their samurai have acted as keepers of balance and peace for a while, and it would not be strange in any way if they were also the minters and printers (I will butcher this language if I want to) of the standardised currency.

However, a side note.
In Scandinavia, the cold bloody hell up north that no one really cares about, there are two countries that exists side by side. The interesting thing is that they also share the name of their currencies, crowns. While they don't have the same value, the currencies are named the same, and as long as you are close to the border they are practically interchangeable. Perhaps something similar is at work in Narutoland?
Please accept my apologies for the delay. Got basic info worked out, bio pretty much set, appearance meh. The jutsu section is proving awkward, but it'll probably be ready tomorrow.

No worries.
Selecting jutsus can be a bitch. In this game we haven't even given you any guidelines for amount and stuff. We want people to get creative. It's also a good way to measure if the players share our idea of "chuunin-level" or if we have to call your mum and complain...
Anyway, feel free to post a WIP and we (and the other players) can give you feedback, might help you get unstuck.

@Halvtand How would you rate my character so far? I'll probably come back to finish him when there are more posts or at least a couple other characters in the CS tab.

To start off. I think you have a fine concept to work with, I would like to have more info on what happened in the mist (why was the clan killed?) and what kind of techniques are in the scroll (along with info on KG). But that will surely come as you finish the dude. Apart from that... Hatter pointed out a few things... Yeah, keep it up and I think we have a good future character. We talked about the background and we agreed that it would be best for you to write our your whole idea before we start picking at details.

If there's anything Halvtand and I like, it's details and science (and Naruto). So we've got a lot of depth in everything. You should see our Skype conversations. We've spent hours discussing every little detail.

Seriously, don't show anyone our skype log. No one wants to see our skype log. I don't want to look at our skype log.
While it is true that we've spent hours talking about every little detail of some seriously ridiculous elements of both Naruto and anime as a whole, that time is dwarfed by the time we've spent insulting and pissing each other off. (for fun)
Just poking my head in. Still working on my character. It began as a lose concept and I've probably rewritten the concept three times already as the final product wouldn't suit my taste.

I am working on a genjutsu artist that uses fog/mist as a "trigger". Most of the jutsus will be focused on changing the perspective of the target. ie, not so much "you're trapped in a room full of bees!" as "touching the ground now hurts your feet" (the floor is lava no jutsu).

What are you working on?
Will finish my CS later.
P.S-I even said "Accept" in my last message, the letters are hidden in different words ;)

Indeed. My first thought was "what is this guy up to?", but them my brain kicked in :) Nicely done.
With Konoha to the south, the Hidden Sound to the east and the Hidden Waterfall to the west we have the small Hidden Village of the End, Gobigakure. What's that? Can't find it on a map? Don't know the name of the country? Well, that's part of the problem...
The Village Hidden by the End is so small and insignificant that most other ninja villages doesn't recognize it as one. If it was on any map before, someone has erased it. In the entire history of the village it hasn't produced a single ninja worth mentioning. The village sits on the northern cliffs of its country, surrounded by huge rocks that shelters the village from the outside world. The village can only be clearly seen from the sea to the north, called the endless sea by locals. Thus its name, the Village Hidden by the End.

The village is not governed by a kage, like the other hidden villages, neither does it house its own ANBU-force or any other institution that is often present in established ninja villages. It started out as an outpost for the Hidden Cloud, and has always relied on its main village for leadership and protection.
The village's only jounin, Hyuuga Hiroshi, acts as leader and is in charge of every ninja in the village. Hiroshi used to be a ninja from Konoha, but was thrown out after a family dispute went sour. He travelled around the world, found Gobigakure and was elevated to the rank of leader almost immediately. Since then he has had his work cut out for him. The village is very poor and lacks many of the commodities that people in the rest of the world takes for granted. Missions are few and far between, most people who can afford it take their business to the bigger villages.
Not a single noble ninja family reside in the village, but a few of the more innovative families have developed hijutsu. Bloodline limits are extremely rare, almost unheard of.

Short history:
Shortly after the Village Hidden in the Clouds had formed they started to look to the west, toward the Village Hidden in Stone. They feared an attack, and established an outpost on a conveniently placed mass of land. A nearby village provided entertainment for the troops and before long the first of many illegitimate children was born. The children with a talent for ninjutsu were trained by the Kumo ninjas that were stationed there (more for fun than for actual training), and during the first ninja war they helped keep their small patch of land safe.
After the war the outpost was scrapped, but the village remained popular in the eyes of Kumo ninjas and with time ninjas from other villages as well. The mild climate and rustic lifestyle made the village a popular site for jounin from all over the ninja world to train their genin. And while they were there more than a few decided to visit the popular burlesque houses, both male and female “entertainers” were available to suit every taste.
When the second ninja war came the village was left to its own devices, and took several hard hits. Much of the original village was destroyed, but a few talented doton-users from Kumo created a huge barricade around the village to shield it from harm. That barricade still stands and is the reason why the village is still hidden.
After the second war people stopped caring about the small village. The ninjas that were bred and trained there were nothing in comparison to the kind of talent that arose in the rest of the world and its geographical position was suddenly too “out of the way” for leisurely visits. Because of its remote position huge battles have been fought just outside the barricade between Iwa, Kumo and Konoha. Neither have taken the time to secure the village itself first. The village has tried to reestablish communications with Kumo, but have been rejected every time. It has also tried to reach out to Iwa and Konoha, but they didn’t even reply.

Welcome to the Village Hidden by the End, Gobigakure no Sato. You are one of the villages proud ninjas, a chuunin. You are one of the most powerful people in the village, even though it has been a while since you got to show it. You, and some of your friends have grown tired of the way people from other villages treat you, calling you weak, saying that you're not really ninjas. You've decided to leave the village and grow strong out in the real world, you're prepared to do whatever it takes to succeed. You'll show those other villages that Gobi ninjas are a force to be reckoned with, and you'll (attempt to) beat the snot out of anyone who disagrees.

What we want here is a mainly character-focused roleplay with a handful of dedicated players. Although our characters do start out fairly useless, we want the characters to evolve through the game as more and more of the world opens up and becomes known to them. Like in the original show.
The setting we’re after is very much like that of the early episodes in the show. That means:
Fairly limited power.
Very limited knowledge of the world and everything in it.
The use of a jutsu can heavily impact, and even turn the tide of a fight. Below you’ll find two videos. One from early Naruto, one from Shippuuden, observe the differences.

The story takes place eight years after The Second Shinobi War and just a few years before The Third Shinobi War. That makes it about fifteen years before the start of the series.

More might be added here.

@MMGiruThat's great. Would you like to share your idea(s)? I'm working on a genjutsu artist with a fog-theme myself.

@RedrumPlease do. We have high hopes for this game as both me and hatter has more than a few behind us and a lot of material to pull into the game.

@Garden Gnome Very nice. Great to have you on board, friend.

I'll wait for just a few more hours until I throw up...
