Hildibrand Helidor Maximilian Manderville! (Hildibrand Manderville for short...!)
Gender:
Male!
Age:
Unknown (late 20's, early 30's)
Game:
Final fantasy XIV
Appearance:
Equipment:
What is a Knight without his trusted blade?! The treaty blade, a weapon bound by a secret power would only activate and be bound toward a Warrior of light! It just so happened, Hildibrand was not only a Warrior of Light... But... A GENTLEMAN OF LIGHT! It's power radiated with holy energy, allowing hildibrand to use it to protect others once more! And while Hildibrand may be a novice in swordsmanship, his unpredictability, and sheer determination more than make up for it...! It's the thought that counts!
Abilities:
Super speed: Being A Manderville Man has some perks! Such as Hildibrands incredibly fortuitous ability of Super Speed! When the going gets touch, the Manderville keeps going! Like the speed of a bullet, nothing will escape his grasp... FOR JUSTICE!
Extreme endurance/Damage resistance: A Manderville Man must defend a beautiful Lady at all costs! So a Manderville Man must be able to take any abuse from others to help a lady escape, it is a Manderville Mans sworn duty to protect such darling ladies... FOR JUSTICE!
Hildibrand Manderville can soak up unearthly amounts of pain and damage from his opponent, he isn't invincible, but dear god can he take heavy amounts of punishment with but a scratch! Such a Gentleman! Being able to survive explosions, resist zombification, , poison, magic, Stabs, slashes, earthquakes and even the force of a meteor! How one survives such attacks? Only a Manderville knows!
(Hildibrand is pretty much a highly protective character, he can attack but he sucks at it, primarily for defending others, a tanky build is his main forte, very low attack, high defense and mobility)
Weaknesses and Limitations:
Rather dimwitted: While he may be an investigator, he is rather stupid when it comes to anything involving detective work, and thus, puts his intelligence into question. Thus, he finds himself the butt of the joke at times, falling into simple traps and falling for the most ridiculous of disguises.
Weak at fighting/combat:
Indeed, with an endurance of steel, Hildibrand WOULD be a powerful fighter... if he could fight worth his salt. He cannot, and indeed, is terrible at the sort. He's a Gentleman, not a fighter! But he WILL try!
Personality:
Hildibrands personally can be summarized as a slapstick dimwit, who's stupidity can be instantaneously recognized by even some of the less brightest of people, offering his services for cases already solved and when investigating cases, he is completely incompetent.
That isn't to say he isn't a good man, in fact, hildibrand is an incredibly noble, kind and honest gentleman, who seeks only to protect those who are less fortunate than himself and who have no hope, somehow, this buffoon of a "detective" with his clumsy nature, witless words and comical attitude gets the job done every time, some say luck, some say it's just the powers of a Manderville Man!
Always seeking to protect a lady or innocents anywhere he goes, he will put himself in harms way selflessly to preserve the lives of those he seeks to protect, while asking hardly anything in return, a strong sense of justice radiates off his magnificent, beautiful being, his teeth shine with the truth of man, his eyes gaze with that... of a Manderville Man! Doing whatever a Manerville can! From the corners of Coerthas to Thanalan, He is A Mander-Mander-Manderville Man!
Backstory:
Much of Hildabrands backstory is shrouded in a veil... of MYSTERY! Born between the loving father Godbert Manderville and mother Julyan, two extraordinary beings, with power so strong they were mistaken for beings of another planet, their genes passed down managed to strengthen Hildibrand to become the pain taking machine he is today, while missing out on both his mothers brains and his fathers ungodly strength, he was left with a durable form, and with it, since he was born into an incredibly rich and prosperous family in the most richest city on Eorzea, he wanted to bring justice to those who could never receive it. Being rich only gave you so much, But Hildibrand threw his royal and noble title away, and decided to become a simple Gentleman, and inspector, a fighter for JUSTICE!
Hildibrands story would take him on exciting adventures, fighting alongside the Heroes of Light to stop a plot to zombify the entirety of Ul'dahn, he fought alongside the Hero of Light against foes such as Typhoon, Ultros and Gilgamesh, the arms thief of many weapons! ... And arms!
Near the end of his wonderful journey, and by accident, his words unlocked the power behind the Treaty Blade, and with its power, Manderville Hildibrand SHOT like a bullet to the sky! Vanishing before the stars where he landed in the snowy lands of Ishgard! What happens now?

FIND OUT NEXT TIME ON - HILDIBRAND: AGENT OF INQUIRY!
Entry Point:
Happily strolling through the streets of Ishgard in FF XIV.
@Happy Go Lucky There's no plans for an overarching plot, the nature of the RP is that it's mostly free-form although from time to time there will be side plots relying on us banding together. Looking to get a co-GM or two under the belt first!
Weapon(s): Shadow- A clever engineered metal bow that can fold up and hide within his cloak. It is easier to pull back than most short bows. Thanks to the extra power it travel as far as long bow and strike just as hard.
Quiver- Loaded with blunt arrows, standard arrows, and grappling arrows.
Armor:
Cloak- Not armor per say but he use's it to conceal and hide his identity, armor against prying eyes one might call it.
Leather armor- Dyed black and carefully cured this leather armor protects from basic attacks. While not the strongest material it's light it's protective perfect for a thief on the go.
Personal Trinkets: A silver pocket watch Found with the watch as a child it helps him control and regulate his powers, without it he can begin in out at random.
A glowing stone with a rune carved in to it, given to him by his sister. It share's an energy with him, unique unlike other magic he has encountered. He has yet to dechiper it's potential.
Short History: Many stories float around about how Jack Thorn was born, most of them wrong. Yet to hear Jack tell you himself it sounds as if he finds it almost boring knowing the truth. His parents, Mera and Valerian Thorn were prominent wizards in Elvish lands specifically working in magic in time control and manipulation. They had even been devising a way to rewind time, of course they were having a problem of subject phasing out and not phasing back in thus being lost outside of normal time.
Valerian had also finished the project when Mera in to labor, a spell that would rewind time on whim. He planned to use his pocket watch as a stablizing agent much like other mages used a staff. Yet it went wrong when he tried to cast it, time moved forward backwards and in some area's simply froze. After Jack's birth Mera left to fix the damage done by there work, yet when she repaired the damge it drained her life force. By the time she had repaired the time line, her body had become that of Elf thousands of years older she could barely move on her own. Saying good bye to her son she passed on, thus Jack Thorn was sent to an orphanage barely six months old. As Jack grew he discovered the easiest way to get what he wanted was to steal it.
When he was twelve they closed orphanage he lived in, however they made arrangements to transfer the children to an orphanage in a human city nearby. Before he was sent off, Jack decided to investigate his parents old home and lab sneaking off with an older girl from the orphanage who knew the way to two found Jack's family home. They entered the building, untouched since the accident and began to search Jack found the pocket watch first. Knowing it was his father's the inscription inside of it, yet a glow in the corner room interested him he began to carefully move towards.
What Jack didn't know was, that was the spot his father had cast the spell, perhaps it was blood or simply fate. When he touched the glowing almost sparking remains of the time spell he was flung across the room. His body envolped in light blue sparks he could feel magic, for the first time his life he could use magic. Something he had never been trained in or taught, as his friend Talia pulled him off a man walked through the door. He threw out his hand and the man froze, time had paused and he could not move. Jack and Talia fled the building as quickly as they could.
Over the years, Jack learned more spells, he could rewind himself jump forward blink through time, and even phase out of time temporaily hiding himself from the universe. All this came at a cost, he was againg faster than the normal Elf understanding his power he began to use it less. He learned the talents of thief and began to hit cities, stealing from vaults to wealthy patrons, Spectre became feared by all for how skiled he was. Yet soon the Thieves guild decided thye could not tolerate one lone Elf out doing them, they began a hunt calling for the head of the thief Spectre. Run out of the by the guild and pursued by merceneries Spectre escaped in to the forest seeking asylum and perhaps he has found it.
Other: His left eye burns blue when ever he use's his time control powers, it happens before he casts and just after as well. Giving a warning or letting the person attacked know what he just did.
"Then you must be quite the unique boy then! I'm a little jealous! Just make sure you keep that ring of yours safe okay? You never know if someone mean would be interested in unleashing such horrifying power, so make sure you keep the knowledge of it tight lipped, alright? I already have enough people needing healing...!"
He finished with a jest, his smile widening, before deciding to talk about his own past. It was only fair, and it would help spark some conversation, and keep the night going for the both of them, after all, if the two of them had nothing to say, it would make their chat quite boring indeed!
"I use to come from a village of healing mages myself, called ourselves the Herald's of Hope, desiring to spread our healing to the world. When one of us reached eighteen years of age, we would decide to either go out into the world, to assist the people in their troubles, and heal their wounds, or stay in our secluded hermit village, and continue to learn and teach the next generation. I decided to stay in the village. Wanted to teach the younger ones all about our powers, so that they could help other people when the time was right. Either we would grow up, and die of old age in the village, or live long enough for the Apocalypse to come, that was our life. If the apocalypse came... We were to hurry out of our home to help save the day, healing the worlds warriors so that we may combat the end, and stop it. That's was our destiny, what we were fated to do"
Denzel's face then twisted into a small grimace, as if he wanted to frown, but he refused.
"You may be wondering why i'm outside my home, if I wanted to stay... well, lets just say everything doesn't exactly go to plan, so I decided to leave, and help the world now, rather than later, i guess...!"
Denzel smiled with relief noticing the little draconian creature wake from his unconscious state. Poor thing must have walked for ages onto to get kicked so ruthlessly by the most pompous individual he had ever met, the little guy probably was scared, he assumed in his head. Standing up, Denzel held the small dragon in his arms, like one would hold an infant, and upon hearing him speak, Denzel responded gently. He was surprised at the dragon like creature talking, but to be honest, making sure the draconian creature was okay was the top priority.
"My name? Denzel. Denzel Harrowing. But who I am is irrelevant, what's more important is your health, how are you feeling? A little less worn out? Can you stand? Or... fly?
Denzel sat the creature down on one of the empty tables away from everyone else, and sat beside him on one of the chairs.
