Bio

Hello! I'm Heap!
Welcome to my little corner of the guild.

My current life status and availability:

I live in the Western area of the US in an apartment I work 2 jobs and 50-65 hours (Not exaggerating) a week to pay for. I work primarily as a professional graphic designer and part time at a local family owned shop mainly as a favor to the owner who needed the help. Aside from that I'm relatively active in my social life and non-role-playing activities so while I'm still online everyday the hours are usually really early in the morning and really late at night. That being said, if you find me in chat and I randomly disappear, I'm not trying to be rude, someone probably just showed up at my door wanting to hang out or go out.

My Roleplaying style:

When it comes to joining a role-play I usually go for a more adult themed type. Not necessarily intimate just more of a mature context. The genre doesn't typically matter so long as the idea is somewhat original, that to say, I don't go for role-plays based on any specific media very often. The exception being if the role-play is based off an already well established story that it's not completely following the canon of it.

Who I am:

Curiosity is my blessing and curse. I must know as much about everything as I possibly can and often will never take a simple answer to a question without either inquiring further or doing extra research on the subject until I know it's origin, current political and monetary state, how it's used and if in any way it could influence my own life. So far as I know I'm a pretty easy going, fun loving, person, I'm not afraid to go against the grain or do something that seems a little odd. In the end I genuinely just want to be a happy person and in turn share that happiness with everyone around me.

Side note:

I've made a few friends since being here and truly cherish my friendships with each and every one of them (you know who you are). If you guys ever need anything, ever, I'm there, you never need to ask twice or feel like you are any less important to me then you really are.

The Ibrus Clan is also a thing consisting of myself, @Vashonn, @Caster and @Big Dread. We are a group of miscreants and are all really good friends. I would do almost anything for them.

In New Campton 8 yrs ago Forum: 1x1 Roleplay
Freya's stood in front of a large lit screen in her office on the 84th floor of the Cybogenesis building. The office was large and sterile. Along the back wall was a large window that wrapped the office giving a panoramic view of the city from high up. On the far right side of the office was the Doctors desk. White and clean with a large monitor on top of it. Behind her desk was a large white cupboard which seemed at first glance to be just a glossy white if not seen closer to find the cracks of the door panels. One of these cupboards was open revealing an intensely organized compilation of papers, binders and files, all labelled and filling the cupboard entirely. On the corner of her desk was a robotic prosthetic arm, mounted to a stand with a date etched into the base of the plate. This was the first prototype of the cybernetic augment line. There was a glass table surrounded by white chairs in the center of the office where a glass pitcher with water inside and 4 cups lay stacked on top, beneath it was a round grey rug.

On the opposite wall of the office was a large monitor, beneath it was another computer, microscope and various other medical equipment. This is where the Doctor stood. Her white lab coat draped on her shoulders and hair tucked behind her ears as she leaned into her microscope. "Interesting." she murmured to herself, taking her eye off the lens and scribbling into a notebook that sat next to the scope. Though she had her right eye augmented to no longer need the scope, she still found herself using it anyway on occasion. The sound of a throat being cleared startled her attention as she whipped around to find a man sitting on one of her white chairs pouring himself a glass of water.

"Mr. Davidson." she said in a hurry, "My goodness I didn't think our appointment was until..." "10:00am" he said cutting her off. Freya checked her watch quickly, 10:05am. She put down her notebook, placing it on the side of the table the microscope was one and made her way to the center of the room where she sat on one of the chairs. "Right, well, what is it you wanted to discuss?" she exclaimed, her mind still on her research. She examined his clothes for a moment noting that he wore a grey suit with a blue tie and black dress shoes. His right arm was cybernetic augmentation and he also bore the augments allowing him to browse web and take phone calls internally.

James Davidson began, "I've come to see how your progress was coming along on your latest augmentations, I understand you are trying to replicate organs, is that correct? When can we see testing done on that? I have some great marketing ideas that would really boost our shareholders interest." Doctor Rutherford stood now, her face turning a deep shade of red, in a mild, calm tone she responded, "With all do respect sir, this is science. We are talking about operating on human beings, these augmentations must be perfect before they will touch the flesh of a human." "But, Doctor." Mr. Davidson interrupted. Freya put her hand up to stop him. "The research and compilation of cybernetic organs is still in it's early stages, I ask that you not discuss this project with anyone without discussing it with me first." Freya sat down again and took a sip of water as Mr. Davidson pulled out the little blue pill known as Careltta and swallowed it.

He plopped his briefcase on the glass table and opened it. Snapping each of the clasps open with emphasis then placed his hand inside and pulled out a few magazines. Crime rises in New Campton with yet another bank robbery by the augmented. One the headlines read. The other two read Boy found dead with augments ripped from body, Are augments worth the trouble? and Stock markets increase with cheaper labor costs thanks to advances in robotics, Poverty levels at an all time low . Freya glanced at them and read the titles quickly. "You need to help me salvage this." Mr Davidson said standing. "This is your mess." Freya retorted. "My job is to help people in need, it's your political and monetary influence that caused this. Augmentations were not meant to be used as tattoos are, they are meant to give those in need a chance at a normal life." Mr. Davidson stood now, his face growing flush, "Mr. Crawford, who may I remind you pays your salary, wants a new augmentation next month." Freyas face recoiled with disgust. "Tell Mr. Crawford that if he wants to step into my office for me to implant incomplete augments into his body he can be my guest. It is not going to happen, end of discussion. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some patients that are needing my attention at Holbrook hospital." She opened the glass door leading to her office then motioned him to leave.

Mr. Davidson huffed, gathered his papers and briefcase and left the office, adjusting his tie out of habit as he did. She closed the door behind them both and locked it which automatically turned the lights off. Freya made her way towards the elevator to go down towards the lobby standing poised before it as it made it's way to her floor. As the elevator rang, she entered it and was taken down to the main floor. As she exited the building, a group of reporters were out there microphones in hand saying a million things at once. "Doctor, is it true you are encouraging everyone to get augmentations?""Doctor, how are you reacting to the sudden surge of crime your company has cause.""Miss, can you comment on why corporations like yours are ruining the human race?" Freya weaved paced them and hailed a cab which took her to the hospital doors.

She entered the hospital and made her way to her first patients room. A little boy of about 8 years old sat in his hospital bed. His parents, smiling at him sat beside his bed reading him a storybook about dish running away with a spoon. Freya knocked on the door gently as she entered the room, pulling the clipboard with the patient data off the hook on the door. The parents eyes grew with delight upon her entering, the little boy tossed his book aside and smiled at the doctor expectantly. "Doctor Rutherford!" The boy exclaimed, "Look!" He said moving his right arm and right leg around stiffly. "They are moving again!" The boys mother burst into tears with a smile and his father held his mother smiling as well with a tear running down his left cheek.

"Well done Jacob!" The doctor said with a smile, gently placing her warm hands on his arm and moving it around. "Does this hurt?" she said gently. The boy shook his head no and smiled at her. Freya smiled sweetly at the boy, "Mind if I talk to Mom and Dad for a minute?" she said with a smile. The boy shook his head no again as the three adults stood and exited the room. As the door closed, the mother wrapped her arms around Freya, "Thank you Doctor. When they said he would be paralyzed on his right side after the accident I didn't know what I would do. He's just a boy, you know?" The mother said through muffled tears. Freya patted her back then pulled her gently to attention moving her gaze from one parent to the other, She began calmly. "Now, the synthetic tissue used to repair his nervous system should regenerate itself as he grows but there is no guarantee how much it will grow with him, I want you to bring him in to see me every six months until he his twenty to be sure everything is still progressing at a natural state. Can you do that for me?" The parents nodded and sighed glancing into the patient room window at the boy who was now reading the children's book to himself. "He should be okay to leave the hospital in a few days, it'll take some time for his body to adjust to the procedure but, he's going to be okay." She said reassuringly. The three of them entered the room again where Freya gave the little boy a hug and kissed his forehead. She closed the door behind her as she left the room to give the family some privacy and sighed with a small smile to herself.

Her next patient was a man in his thirties who suffered an amputation in his leg while serving in the military, she did his surgery pro bono so he could great his new child to the world with two legs. A few other patients followed before she left the hospital around 4:00pm to continue her research in her office.
I was originally going to do a female character but it seems we have a lot of those already so male it is!

Let me know what you think!
@Rusalka Eeesh! That sucks dude! I hope you feel better! Stay out of the light, satanic migraines don't like light! lol

Name Generators and Image Sites

Sometimes coming up with a name or finding an image to suit your character can be difficult. I've compiled some helpful sites that make this stage of character creating a little easier.

Name Generators:

Fake Name Generator = This site is great for giving you details you wouldn't normally think of. It goes completely in depth to the person it just created for you. As real as all this wonderful information before you looks, it is all fake! Don't start sending weird letters to the addresses it give you. =]

Mithril and Mages = This site has all kinds of name generators made specifically for role-playing. Need to come up with a city name, tavern name, business name, street name, etc. This site is great for that, the name generators that are provided here are extremely well organized and useful.

Image sites:

Please see Cupcakes guide to posting images If you are having trouble getting images to post.

ZeroChan = This site is great for finding Anime/Manga type images. There are mostly characters on this site but you can occasionally find interiors/exteriors as well. The search function works great as well though you may still have to sift through images before you find one that matches what you want exactly.

Deviantart = Anything you find on this site was made by the user the image is posted under. The search function is only minutely useful as tags are placed by the users and some won't think of a word to describe there image as you would.

PhotoBucket = Photobucket is my bottom of the barrel site I go to when I really just can't find anything on any other site that suits my needs. There are some great images on here, but there is also a lot of crap. The search function works, but you often get images that have nothing to do with whatever you searched for.

The Paper Wall = Although this site is primarily for finding desktop wallpapers there are some fantastic high-quality images on here for either characters, landscapes, cities, etc. It is a wonderful resource for finding those great detailed images. The search function is pretty terrible I won't lie. You can use it and you may find something your looking for but, the tags are created by the uploaders as DA's are so more often then not they don't put enough tags or they put the wrong tags on their images.

I will continue adding image sites and name generators as I either discover them when the listed fail me. If there is a trusty site you use that I didn't list, please PM me and I'll check it out, then add it to the list above.

Hopefully this is a helpful guide! Happy character building!
