And back I am. Exhausted, certainly, and may need a while for that to wear off, but I'm once more here to read and even write!

Should have been writing posts. Took part in D&D shenaniganry instead. Got to fix that tomorrow.

There's a lot of backlog here on my end. I'm trying my best to lessen it, but replies might be less frequent for a time. A welcome change from the nothing doing I went through though! Thanks partners!

I suppose it is about time for me to copypaste fill in some information about myself over here just as well. Only took me a few years to getting around to do it.
I am a married individual in my twenties from the country some people dare claim does not exist. The Finland conspiracy is an old joke, you can stop with it now. Not a native speaker of the English language by any means, though I did begin studying it exceptionally early for our country's standards. I suppose it was some sort of a test case. With that out of the way though, what more should I be saying here...
I like being nice to people. If one needs to ask why, well that alone is reason enough.
I play and Dungeon Master Dungeons and Dragons, both offline and in the past also over here.
I enjoy OOC chatter, be it planning the RP or a more casual exchange (not that RP'ing is that serious). I can make do without, but don't be afraid to talk to me.
Whatever the case, I'm here to have fun and hone my writing abilities!
I do think that should about cover it, yes.
Thanks for stopping by I suppose! I do also have a Discord account, but I prefer to start anything RP related on the site. At least with people I don't know from the past, that is! But hey, now if you are a longer time contact of mine and happened to read this, now you know and can ask!
@Lucius Cypher@Gordian Nought There seems to be an issue in none of us being quite sure of who is in charge of Leosin at the present moment. It was described that Torus took him on bearback, as well as Orchid keeping him company. Now, what actually happened?
I would prefer a coin flip personally, @Hekazu, that or setting the standard of whoever has the higher Dexerity score of the two. Either way both of those are fair and should not too radically alter the approach of our hunter-knight and what he well intends to do. If these men are intent on preventing their escape and all their work, as well as having been associated and complicit with the evils of the cult we have seen so far, only one reasonable thing to do.
A houserule governing the matter is naturally possible to be set. This is simply how WotC wrote the tiebreakers to be performed, but I am fine with adding an additional layer of randomness on top of it. Now personally I prefer giving the one who rolled higher on the die the chance to act first, but that may just be me. Nonetheless, before any decision is made, I would prefer to hear from @Ryonara just as well.
Right, initiative order has been established on the Characters tab as per usual. As the rules are, I will require The Harbinger of Ferocity and Ryonara to decide whose character goes first since they share the initiative count. If they have not done so by the time said spot in initiative rolls around, I will do so with a coinflip. Either way, it does seem like Orchid has found himself with the opportunity to act first.
Since initiative has been called, we should act according to it. And since enemy initiatives are unknown, they might get to it first. Please wait until complete initiative has been established @Lucius Cypher.
@Norschtalen To be hiding at that time (effectively at least) would have required slowing down. As the party was hurrying along, that would have been a tough thing to do. However, it might still have been possible. Please roll for stealth at disadvantage, if you seek to do so. Once we move into combat, Hide action is available as per usual, without said drawback too. If the character's location is appropriate for hiding, of course.
Brannor had nearly freed all the slaves when two hurried pairs of steps rushed towards the slave tent. The front flaps flew open, and though the man could not see the man who had done so he was familiar enough with the voice that declared "I knew it!" that he knew their time to be short. It was investigator Krets. And the other voice that answered him, that he knew better. A voice that boomed with the force of its owner's ancestry. A voice belonging to a certain half-dragon.
"Yes indeed, investigator. We should have taken action sooner, in that you are right", Cyanwrath conceded before raising his voice to a shout: "TO ARMS! NOBODY LEAVES THE CAMP! THE SLAVES ARE RUNNING, AS IS THE CHAMPION I FOUGHT ONLY A NIGHT AGO!"
It took no more. Where the interest had previously been in the fire raging in the kobold slums, one of the wearers of purple grabbed all that attention without difficulty, the humanoid cult members and hirelings now starting to gather towards the exit. The clock was ticking. They would either make it or break it within the next two minutes. Thankfully, they were already close to being out by this point. Only four people stood in their way, spotting those that attempted the skulk through the shadows. "Halt! Who goes there?" their apparent leader, dressed in very similar manner to the dragonclaw by the name of Stern earlier.
Getting through might be possible without a fight, just slipping through the guards, but that would both prove extremely difficult for the one helping the monk and more or less doom the slaves. Or they could fight their way through, banking on the fact that they would have the time to do so before reinforcements arrive. Or perhaps they would choose to do something completely different? Time was of the essence, decisions needed to be made.
The party has had the chance to reassemble themselves. You are currently approaching from the East, through a path less travelled and aiming straight for the plains outside. Unfortunately, a roadblock of four enemies has formed itself before you, between makeshift walls of wooden spikes and boxes.
Ladies and gentlemen... ROLL... FOR... INITIATIVE!
I will come to add something in a day or too unless the events change, but I am assuming Brannor can be successful in his mission and escape to rejoin with the rest. If not, do let me know. Likewise, if there is anything that can or will crop up for this, do inform before it becomes solely assumed we have success in this mission.
There is a complocation in the way of our heroes, that much I can tell. I have been waiting to see if our remaining two participants had anything to add, but silence is a tough answer to decipher.
