Curiosity, was it? No, that wasn't it at all. She needed to properly say what was needed to say. And yet, as he held her, all she wanted to do was keep crying. It was so frustrating, but she couldn't help it. She felt like a child again, but it was somewhat comforting for him to say that. Emiri shook her head, trying to explain herself in between hiccups. "N-No...y-you don't understand...I-I can't do anything..." She sobbed, trying to control herself, but failing miserably. "I should--I should have been able to get us out of there, b-but nothing I do works...I can't s-stop time a-anymore..." She spoke between sobs, shaking her head frantically. "A-After all this time...Y-Years of w-wishing I never h-had it...and now it's-it's just gone...!"

Nadeline raised both eyebrows at this, giving a concerned look at Jaakuna. "I would put the blame on the cuffs. They are designed to disrupt any form of magicks and Mist abilities...Please calm down, darling, none of this is your fault at all." She tried to assure her.

"No, you don't understand!" Emiri then cried out, burying her head into Jaakuna's chest. "It happened wh-when we faced the Gigas, too! When I went to attack...I couldn't stop it...so I got struck down. Ever since then I haven't been able to do it at all!"

Nadeline didn't understand Emiri's power in the first place, so she was at a loss to say anything. Her aunt mentioned the ability to control time, but this was a rather curious situation. So did she really just lose her power? Perhaps it was a mental block--she did mention regretting said powers, so maybe she was subconsciously blocking them? Then again, she mentioned the fight with the Gigas, and suddenly her reckless charge made more sense. At this point Nadeline was deep in thought. No, it was not Emiri that had blocked her powers, it had to have been an outside source. Perhaps when the Dalmascan army appeared their ships sent out an Anti-Mist wave? But the timing couldn't be right, the three of them were fighting with no issues. What could it be?

Name:
Nadeline Lenore Roselia

Age:
20
Gender:
Female
Occupation:
Princess of Rozarria, third heir to the throne

Personality
A prim and proper young lady, Nadeline is the epitome of royalty. She is polite, mild mannered, and takes the utmost pride in her position. Her country comes first and foremost. and she takes her duties very seriously. She wears the mask of royalty very well, often being unfazed by most events. Still, she is known for having a short temper and is known to let her emotions get the best of her. For the most part, she is calm, though she doesn't take kindly to insults or being mocked.

The girl is a hopeless romantic, often swooning and encouraging romantic endeavors. While often being able to pick up on subtle hints, she also has a tendency to miss sarcasm. She is often confident in her abilities but lacks real world experience. Still, what she lacks in experience she makes up for in enthusiasm.

Skills:
Educated under an old master of sorts, Nadeline is efficient in the ways of sword fighting. However, she has strictly textbook experience only, though she is quick on her feet and quick to act.

Magick:
Nadelike is proficient in both White and Green Magicks.

Weapon
Nadeline herself wields a rapier she dubbed Joyeuse.
"Oh." Was her only response. Had she really blanked out? It had been a very long time since she had done that. Well, not that long...but still. She looked around at the cell, from Jaakuna's face to Nadeline's worried look, and her guilt nearly crushed her right there and then. Neither one of them would even be in this mess if it wasn't for her. Emiri's shoulders shook slightly, and the girl shook her head. It was her fault. It was all her fault. "I..." She started, trying to control the wavering of her voice, but it all seeped out, and she couldn't control herself. Emiri finally started crying, looking down at the ground. She couldn't look at either of them. "I'm sorry...I'm so sorry...this...this is all my fault, isn't it?" She sobbed, the tears she had been holding back finally rolling down her cheeks.
Emiri looked up at Jaakuna, eyes wide with surprise. Did he just hit her? And across the face? Wait, no, that wasn't quite right. Nadeline would've had both her hands over her mouth if they weren't bound. He hit her! Well, no, technically he just slapped her. Still, it was a rather brash and bold move. Not one Nadeline would ever think to resort to. After a moment, Nadeline gently patted her arm, trying to amend the situation, though she did give Jaakuna a 'why did you slap her' look. Still, it worked, so to speak, though how effective it was was entirely up to opinion. Once the moment had passed, Emiri closed her eyes and looked down, though she opened her eyes once more to stare at Jaakuna. "What?" She asked rather shortly.

Nadeline opened her mouth to respond, but quickly closed it. Maybe she'd let Jaakuna handle this one.
Nadeline's jaw dropped once more, and she was stunned to silence. He didn't need to say more. No, she didn't want him to say anymore. She shifted in her seat, feeling somewhat uncomfortable. It was a foreign feeling for her, really, she was always so composed. Still, this bit of news was...shocking, to say the least. He did say 'if'. As much as things often flew over her head, she wasn't so stupid to miss that. She let out a sigh, leaning back against the wall. "Then it's a good thing we're not." She stated simply, and left it at that. She couldn't even garner the giddiness to appreciate that Jaakuna had essentially confessed his feelings for Emiri. Speaking of her, why wasn't she saying anything?

The blonde looked over at the brunette, who hadn't moved or said a word despite the argument. Emiri remained staring at the ground blankly. She had perked up slightly at the sound of her name, only to shrink back. Metaphorically speaking, she felt like she was drowning in her own guilt. And she felt tired. Why was she tired? Was it physically or mentally? Nadeline stood up and moved closer to her, lightly tugging at her arm. "Emi? Emi darling, what's wrong? Are you hurt? Please, say something." Nadeline was surprised when Emiri turned away from her, effectively curling up into a ball. "...Emiri?" Nadeline asked, starting to get worried.
Nadeline glared daggers at him, the two equally matching their anger. She probably would've hit him already if years of restraint weren't on her, that and it was just unladylike to start a fight. Still, the way he mentioned he didn't care angered her even more. To her, he was just being ignorant. It didn't even matter about his status--prince, sky pirate, peasant, whatever. Many innocent people would suffer, and he was basically spitting in her face. She had worked much too hard to avoid this war, and wanted to do whatever it too if it meant the peoples' lives would be spared.

"It doesn't matter whether you care or not, it's happening regardless of any of our wishes." She replied cooly, once more taking her seat and crossing her legs. "If that is what you truly feel, then why did you bother saving Emiri when you did? Surely you could have just walked away, but you didn't. It may be a personal matter for that instance, but if those are your true feelings, you may as well hand her over now and spare us both the wasted time." She snapped. "Run away all you like, there are certain things in life we all must face whether we like it or not."
Nadeline's jaw dropped. Was he crazy? Was he insinuating that the situation was her fault? The nerve of him! Oh she could shove him off the airship and not even care! What exactly did Emiri see in this vulgar, idiotic brute? Surely he wasn't so narrow minded to truly think that the situation was caused by her!

The blond haired girl then stood up, glaring at Jaakuna. The two were just about equal in height, with Nadeline missing but a few inches. "How DARE you! The entire reason we went was to discover what the Rozarrian Empress wanted with Emiri, and we got our answer! Would you rather have us run around blindly, not knowing anything?!" She huffed, clearly fuming. "Don't you think it's odd that the beast only appeared when she stepped forward? You know there are actually MORE out there as well! If either Empire gets their hands on her it's a ticket to more of those powers!"
"It does seem like a bad situation." Nadeline replied, as unfazed as ever.

The three were in a holding cell on the Valefor, though they may as well have been in a dungeon. Nadeline vaguely recalled the tales she had heard around the palace about Nalbina Dungeon. Nope, things didn't look good, but she was hoping their trial could go well. Trespassing wasn't that serious of a crime, was it? Would they get locked up? Fined? Community service? Nadeline watched Jaakuna pace around, and truth be told, it was making her even more nervous. Oh, if her father found out, she'd never be let out of the palace ever again! She'd have to actually stay put! She finally frowned, though it was a small one.

Emiri, on the other hand, was completely consumed in her own little world. Nothing she tried worked. She couldn't pause time. She tried again and again, and each effort actually felt like it was draining her. The question was why now of all times? What had changed from the battle with the Gigas? What had she done for her power to forsake her like it did? All those years of cursing herself...all the times she was used for it...and now it was just gone. It couldn't be a coincidence, and as she heard Jaakuna complaining, she felt guilty. She could have prevented this entire mess if she could have gotten them to the Ifrit.

"Emi? Hello?" Nadeline called out to the brunette, but she did not respond. She assumed she was worrying about the arrest. "Emi, you don't have to worry, I'm sure if we explain ourselves it will work out, okay?" The blonde felt slightly disheartened as Emiri ignored her. She then looked to Jaakuna, and rolled her eyes. "Come now, must you pace around as such?"
The girls looked at one another, then back at Jaakuna. Fight? They were already wanted by two nations, would they dare risk making enemies of another? Not that it mattered much, as now they had obviously angered/upset them enough to be chased into the Sandsea. Emiri looked at Nadeline. "Aren't we in Rozarrian territory? Just reveal yourself, Naddie." She thought this much was obvious, but then again, they weren't Rozarrian soldiers...they were Dalmascan.

Nadeline looked at Emiri, shocked. "Emi, if they knew of my identity, I am sure we'd get to even more trouble...and that could possibly cause some friction between Rozarria and Dalmasca." She replied, biting her lip. "That and...while technically speaking we tread on Rozarrian ground, the Tomb of Raithwall is well known to be Dalmascan, they reside over anything that happens...including dealing with tomb raiders."

One soldier stepped forward, drawing a scroll. "You three are on sacred ground, daring to come to Raithwall's Tomb. You are hereby under arrest with the charges of trespassing and defiling the ruins of the Dynast King."

Emiri looked at her companions, slowly taking both Jaakuna and Nadeline's hand. Nadeline looked at her curiously, but after a moment, Emiri let go, once more looking at her hands. Why couldn't she stop time? What had happened? How many years she had cursed her power...and now, when she needed it most, it failed her. She felt so abandoned, so to speak. She should be glad, but instead she has become powerless to help them out of a situation they could easily avoid by escaping! Emiri closed her eyes, shaking her head as she tried to figure out what was happening. Nadeline looked at Jaakuna, slightly confused, but said, "They'll take us to the Nalbina Dungeons, I'm sure...but we cannot fight this many and cause a national crisis." She regrettably sighed. "I suppose...we must surrender."
The brunette was more then happy to hear Jaakuna had wanted to leave as well. Maybe it was the stuffiness of the ruins, maybe she was just anxious to get outside, whatever it was, she wanted to get out. Nadeline skipped along after her, the three gathering around the Way Stone. She touched it, feeling them getting warped once more, but this time they were directly warped back to the entrance--outside. Emiri didn't think she would appreciate the Sandsea's heat like she did, but boy did the fresh air feel good. She stretched as she stepped out and began to walk down the stairs. A great shadow covered the sun, and Emiri looked up to see an airship flying over them. Didn't the Jagd prevent most airships from flying over the Sandsea?

"Oh dear." Nadeline gasped, looking around curiously. "It seems we have company."

Emiri looked down and spotted several troops, some of them on Chocobos. She noticed they were gathered around the entrance in form. Were they waiting for them? She backed up to where Jaakuna and Nadeline stood. They didn't seem hostile, but then why would they even be there?
