Aria
Approaching the front desk at last, Aria rummaged through her bag.
Ayntayikk Ambassador...? They must be referring to that man, The thought crossed her mind as she lowered her hood, the smallest of frowns on her face.
'Man'...and yet... Placing her hands on the counter, she looked behind her shoulder, as if expecting him to pop out once more. As her blue eyes scanned the room, however, there was no sign of him. Had the other man not mentioned him, she would have thought him as a figment of her imagination. It wasn't as if she hadn't experienced her own share of danger--but that otherworldy feeling was...
The sound of someone clearing their throat snapped her out of her thoughts, Aria's eyes wide with surprise as she realized she had been addressed. The woman in front of her was less than amused, her thin smile less pleasant than it could have been. "Can I help you?" She asked with the air of someone who had to repeat herself.
"
Y-Yes," Aria berated herself mentally as she threw on a smile. "
I am Aria of Escain."
"Ah, of course. You'll be set up at the bar--Florence will be aiding your performance," The woman nodded, motioning the way. "You may begin whenever you're ready."
"
I thank you, and...I apologize," Aria nodded in understanding, following the woman's directions.
The bar seemed to be active all things considered, though she would first place her belongings on a small chair off to the side. Unclasping the front of her cloak, she let it slide off her shoulders. Folding it neatly, she would place it next to her bag, taking one last look in her small handmirror. She looked a little paler than usual--the presence of that mysterious man still seemed to linger in her mind, it seemed. Furrowing her brow, she inhaled slowly, letting out a breath in a huff as she placed her mirror in her pocket. As much as she wanted to know more, she had a crowd to please. A disinterested crowd, she was sure, but a job was a job.
Stepping onto the slightly elevated stage, she bowed her head to the pianist. After getting the signal that he was ready, the woman turned to the rest of the room. As the keys of the piano started the accompaniment, it seemed to catch a little attention, and Aria put on another smile.
"
Dreaming of the stars on high
That speak to me in secret sighs
Drifting out on a breeze
Only I can feel and hear..."
