Well that was a fun but of catching up :P I'm really curious as to what Devika will do with 2 boys who like her :P
"Good Morning Flood." she greeted, taking a seat. Makoto smiled at the little exchange between Phoebe and Flood. Though it would be a pain, she thought the paint bombs would be kind of funny. It was paint, so no-one would truly get hurt. If he had planted real bombs she would be concerned. Makoto began to eat her breakfast, fruit and some oatmeal. It was warm and refreshing, she always enjoyed healthier food. There was something crisp and fresh about it that she just loved. "Good morning Ryan." Makoto greeted when he came to sit with them. Again she listened as Phoebe and Ryan interacted. She could tell how much they meant to each other just by how they interacted with one another. It was wonderful and she was happy for Phoebe but... it also made her ache with loneliness. She had no family, no one to be close to that she could share the day's events with. Soon Makoto began to just focus on her meal and inadvertently make herself as invisible as she felt. She felt for Ryan though, her mom had put really tough expectations on her as well... when she was alive. Makoto wanted to help if she could but she nether had any advice for him nor thought it was her place to speak up. Plus, he changed the subject fairly quickly, not wanting to talk about it either in public or at all. Makoto hoped that she was not witnessing the beginning of a butting of heads in their relationship. "Hey Flood, do you know when gym starts?" Makoto asked, trying to move her brain along and focus on something other than the feeling of her heart being compressed.
Flood was busy playing with a pocket knife as he stabbed holes in the table he was sitting at. He saw Makoto and Phoebe and waved at both of them. He put away his knife and resumed eating.
Phoebe nkdded "I did, yes. Nicholas is still new to his powers, and I promised I'd help him. It was also nice talking with him, something we haven't really skne before" she said, as she showed Makoto to the cafeteria, waving at Flood, wondering what had gotten him in such a mood, but it didn't appear that he had actually stolen his food this morning. "I hope he joins us. And Ryan. I think Nicholas wants to do the whole brother thing, make sure that Ryan is good for me" she laughed, realising she was babbling. "Anyway, why the martial arts?" She asked
Makoto also waved at Flood, happy to see him and intending to sit with both him a Phoebe for breakfast. "I'm really glad you two had a chance to talk and that you are helping each other. I think it's really sweet of him to do the whole big brother thing. You and Ryan are really cute together, congratulations." she said, smiling warmly. Makoto had by now noticed the ring on Phoebe's left hand and was trying to find a good time to congratulate her. She figured while they were on the topic of Ryan, it was as good a time as ever. Makoto moved with Phoebe down the small line in the cafeteria, collecting food to eat. "I chose martial arts because I figured it was a good place to start and I had taken a basic combative class at my old high school." Makoto began. "I really enjoyed learning the Chinese martial arts, they seemed to flow easier than the others and they have good striking patterns." She kind of laughed to herself, under her breath. "At least, that's what I liked from the little I experienced in that class. I used one of the strikes in Power Development yesterday." pointing out a visual reference that Phoebe may have been able to associate the martial art style to. The young ladies had gotten their food and so Makoto began to walk in Flood's direction. It seemed to be a usual thing that the other classmates at the school gave him plenty of room. Makoto thought it sad but she had a feeling it was for good reason. Still, she always gave the benefit of the doubt until proven wrong. "Would you want to sit with Flood today?" she asked, trying to make sure that Phoebe was alright with sitting at the same table as Flood so early in the morning. "It seems like there is lots of room for us." she added, sheepishly.
Phoebe was just starting to wind down, reaching back the dorms she saw Makoto, she smiled and waved calling out "hey! Are you heading down for breakfast?" She walked over, untying her hair and running her fingers through it, sliding the tie over her hand. "How as the rest of you afternoon? I'm sorry I had to leave, but...It couldn't be helped"
Makoto looked up from her map and smiled at Phoebe. "Good morning!" she almost giggled out. She was glad that Phoebe was so peppy, it made managing her own sadness a little easier. "Yeah, I was just on my way to see what I can get for breakfast." Makoto hoped that the breakfast would be as good as the lunch from the day before. She was starving, having had skipped dinner to play games with Flood and Katherin. "It's alright, I had a lot of fun with Flood and Katherin. I signed up for my electives as well; Chinese Martial Arts and Advanced Anatomy and Physiology. Did you sort out everything with your half-brother?" Makoto couldn't quite remember his name. There were many people she had only actually met once and even at that, didn't get much time to spend with them.
Makoto awoke from the sun brightly shining into her bedroom. She rolled over and looked to the old clock for the time. It was a restless night, her pillow was wet and her eyes were crusty. Slowly she rose, it was still early. Makoto made her bed and revisited yesterday. She may have made some new friends; Phoebe, Flood, Katherin, and maybe even Kagerou. She sighed, looking into the mirror after taking care of business. She would need a good face wash this morning. Makoto made the bed with the sheets and blanket that was already there. She dug into her bag for toiletries and took what she had to the bathroom. Using warm/hot water she scrubbed her face and thought about the day. She was looking forward to her electives. From her experience yesterday she was not looking forward to Power development at all. Makoto moved on to getting dressed after having combed out her hair and braided it once again. She put on the same pants from yesterday and the same tank top. Makoto tossed the warmer sweater of the 2 she had brought with her. It was one of her favorites, it was bright orange. Pulling on the same shoes and jacket from the previous day, Makoto left her room and headed for the cafeteria for some food. She found a paper map in her room that she must have gotten when Storm enrolled her here. Using that as her guide she left the dorms.
Just so you all know, I'm heading into a month of midterms and midterm assignments. This week (the first) is killer as I have 2 assignments and 2 midterms. I may not be around much over the next week for sure but I will try to keep up posting at least once every 2 days on average.
*hugs gently* Ouch. That sounds like it's gonna suck. Don't worry, though. We've got plenty of students in the group, not to mention people who just have job and life stuff flare up from time to time. You take your time, and if you can't post, that's really okay. Life and school come first. Also, sleep and food come second. Anyone who says different has never been in college.
Haha thanks :) I appreciate the encouragement.
>.< Just spent the last hour tryong to enrol in my pharmacy degree
Wow, good luck to you! I'm in health science too and I couldn't imagine doing that ^^"

"I will call him and see if he has anything planned. He isn't home much now that I am at the academy. I guess he gets lonely too. But I will definitely call and see if this weekend works for him." It was a good suggestion Katherin thought. One she should have thought of herself. She probably would have eventually. But having Makoto suggest it gave her a chance to make arrangements with her father.
Both of the girls were either completely ignoring Kagerou or didn't hear her at all. Might as well use it. "Girls, hello?" She had a concerned expression as she came up next to them.
"I'm glad to hear it. Let me know how it goes" She said to Katherin, offereing her support and friendship. "... Oh! Sorry. I didn't see you. Your name is Kagerew right?"Makoto said, noticing the girl come up to walk beside her. She swore the girl came out of nowhere but got the feeling like that type of thing happens here.
"At least you have an idea at where to start with your powers and a platform to work from. I'm still trying to understand half of what I managed in Power Development." Makoto commented, concentrating on the memory for a moment. She wondered what her parents would have thought of her abilities. She wasn't sure how her mom would have reacted, her dad would have struggled but loved her anyway. That's what she thought would be most likely. Makoto however, liked to think that they may have been proud of her. She wished she could talk to them, see them, hear their voice one last time. Her eyes stung thinking of how they were gone. "Hey, if you miss your dad, why don't you visit him on the weekend? We don't have class every day right?" Makoto suggested, desperately wishing that it was that simple for her own situation. "If you don't want to go alone, I can go with you if you want?" she offered. "I'd be useless at getting around but i'm sure i can help, even if i'm only a traveling buddy."
"I like school. Everyone is very nice. I think I will have many allies when I graduate. I miss my dad though." Katherin told her. "Nights like this we would play outside until I was exhausted. I love winter. I know its weird but I think it boosts my ability some."
"Does he live far away?" Makoto assumed that most students here weren't like her, having - had normal parents. Rather, she assumed that most student's here had at least one parent around that was also gifted. Maybe it was naive of her to think so, but from what she had encountered so far, it seemed to be the case. "I wouldn't be surprised. I think I heard Flood say that you could control ice at lunch?" She checked. Ice to her was an interesting power, she couldn't even fathom how to use it."Winter was always my favorite season too, but for different reasons. I always enjoyed the lights and how it reflected off of the snow and ice."
