Biography/Personality
Sara was born and raised with a strong sense of justice. Her mother worked at the local hospital, spending long hours saving the lives of so many people as a heart surgeon. Her father worked as a wonderful and dedicated police detective, catching criminals that always seemed to elude others. Seeing both of her parents doing such good work inspired Sara to do the same, she was always kind to others and helped anyone she saw in trouble. She was the girl that stood up to the bullies - and got teased because of it. Sara never let if faze her though, she kept doing what she thought was right and just. Going down such a path it was only natural that after graduation high school Sara choose to go to the police academy.
When she was chosen to become a Guardian Sara saw it as an opportunity, a chance for her to protect the people, to be a "Warrior of Justice" as she always put it. She worked hard at helping and working with her fellow Guardians, seeing them as her closest friends. However just because she was Guardian it didn't mean that Sara stopped perusing her dream at become a great detective like her father. It was hard and there were many times she didn't think she could balance the two jobs - but she did it.
Now that it is time for her to pass the torch Sara can finally concentrate fully on the dream she had set for her. Sara realizes that she can't continue being a Guardian forever and gladly accepts the role of being a teacher for the new generation.

Oh and as I was writing that, we have another Elder! I love it, fun backstory and a good motivation for justice. Can't wait to see how they interact with the group! Guess this solidifies me as Magical Girl Elder Ice, and new gen Magical Girl of Nature.

Sarah Mulryan, Tyrant of Lightning

Name: Sarah Mulryan

Appearance:
Pre-transformation:
A tall, imposing woman Miss Mulryan stands at a sold five nine, about your average height for a male. Often found dressed in business attire, fancy dresses, with a well kept and immaculate appearance one would expect of any socialite. With a toned, healthy body, its clear she takes great care of her physical abilities and self despite being a single mother.

Post transformation...well...this probably isn't too appropriate for a single, widowed mother? Not that she cares. Sarah's transformed appearance leaves very little to her imagination. With attire evoking some sort of ancient culture, her dress is airy, easy to move in, and allows for maximum flexibility and allows for her to fight optimally.

Personality:
Ask almost anyone of the old generation, and they'd tell you that your friendly socialite wasn't always so. In fact, in her youth she was quite the troublemaker. A delinquent even, leaving many wondering why she had even been chosen in the first place. Violent, selfish, and mildly cruel in her early to mid teen years, she did fight a particularly vicious Shadow Beast, but always ended up seeming to cause just as many problems as she solved. It wasn't until she turned 18 did she finally literally get some sense beaten into her - still, best not to piss her off. Under her friendly, motherly exterior, that old rough and tumble personality still shines through every now and then. The 'Tyrant of Lightning' title wasn't simply given lightly.

Now, Sarah is a far more approachable person. A wealthy socialite, she spends her days doing private tutoring in history, as well as being a curator at a local museum, often coordinating exhibits and making sure all the artifacts are taken care of and other general duties. She cares greatly for both her daughter and any children, and often makes regular donations to orphanages and other homeless shelters. Has trained and studied several forms of combat, mostly involving martial weapons.

Biography:
Sarah has had a rough upbringing. Orphaned at a young age, but soon adopted by a military family, her rebellious attitude during her teen years might seem somewhat understandable. Sarah was a nightmare of a child, often getting into fights, got expelled from several school and overall simply was not a very good person to be around. Even becoming a magical girl couldn't seem to curb her more violent tendencies, though she did have something to direct all that energy towards now - the evil creatures plaguing the city. Her aggressive, merciless nature towards them made her a bit of a shunned element even among the other magical girls. Didn't help she was kind of an ass to all of them.

Things change though, and after getting nearly killed and another magical girl rescuing her, she managed to clean up her act. She even met a man when she was 20, and intended to start a family, though such hopes were dashed when he was killed by some rogue shadow beasts. Now with a child to take care of, she landed a job as first as a teacher, then a museum curator where she still works.

She personally, has no qualms with passing the torch to others. She is entirely fine with letting the new generation handle things. She's an old woman now, and the future is always something that belongs to the new...but why, does it have to be her own daughter?

Isana Mulryan, Fledgling Tyrant

Taking after her mother, Isana is fairly lucky in the gene pool. A bit taller than guys her age, she dresses as one might expect of her more well off station. White hair, amber colored eyes and pale skin, she gives off a rather wealthy and exotic look until she opens her mouth and shatters any princessy appearance she might have given.

Transformed:
Taking cues from military uniforms, her transformed appearance seems to embrace her somewhat fighty nature in that regard. A black uniform with a simple rain cloak, red trimmed fur collar, military cap, tights with heavy duty military boots.

Personality:
Isana takes a bit from her mother, though thankfully she's a lot more chill when she was her age. A tomboy through and through, Isana could care less for girly things. She prefers spending her time fighting, playing sports, and you can bet your butt she's eagerly looking forward to wet her blade on some shadow beast blood. Friendly, upbeat, and generally good-natured, you can find her when she's out always looking for something to get her blood boiling. At school she often gets into trouble for starting fights, much to her mothers amused chagrin because she knows exactly where she gets it from, but aside from that is a fairly exemplary student with high grades. A model student, especially in the athletics department.

At home though, she's basically a lazy neet that wants to do nothing but laze around and eat junk food all day. The only thing that seems to get her motivated is the thought of a fun little brawl.

Biography:
Born to a twenty year old mother and magical girl Sarah Mulryan, Isana's had a fairly normal life growing up, aside from her rebellious tendencies. School life, friends, getting into fights, sports, and being trained in a few forms of martial combat by her mother. A fairly normal life and normal upbringing, not particularly aware of her mothers magical girl past, something Sarah wasn't too keen on letting her even know about until fate deemed Isana worthy of being one herself.

Walking home from a friends house after watching a sporting event on TV with them, was when she was set on by a rather vicious beast. Most people would have probably freaked and run. Perhaps it was because she was just as mildly insane as her mother was at that age, but she stood her ground - and in the midst of it, she was blessed with her artifact.

She likes to say, if asked about this particular encounter
"Ahahaha, what? Scared? Naaah, if anything it was exciting. Watching its head go 'plllbt' was hilarious."

Very lovely character sheets! I love them both and I think it'll be an interesting twist to have the generation gap be... Well, familial sometimes. The dynamic still maintains the purpose of the 2 different element rule as well, as the mother would likely want to guide and tutor her daughter but different elements function differently so she likely would only be do so much. This pairing adds a dynamic relationship to the narrative, allows others to easily participate with them with purpose, and overall I love their designs and histories!

Anya, Magical Girl of Ice

Name: Roksanya (Anya) Alekseevna Salkova.
Age: 18.
Magical Element: Ice.
Championing Artifact: An antique steel shovel (can be summoned to her side).
Gender: Female.
Generation: New.
Occupation: She is being groomed, along with her siblings, to help in her father's company.

Personality: A girl with an expression that is almost consistently as smooth as the element she controls, she sometimes may be perceived as apathetic. Smiles are not exactly rare, however true ones often are. Anya finds the most fun in being with her family, but as they are all pushed apart by their goal-driven lives, she finds herself smiling less and less these days. When transformed, the atmosphere around Anya can teeter on the edge of eerie. But rest assured, she is on the side of justice... or so she says.

Additional Notes on Appearance: Anya is a pale, slender sort of girl, with no muscles or considerable curves to be spoken of. Her hair, smooth tresses of platinum, is straight and long and doesn't contrast at all with her skin. Her eyes are a lovely blue-violet.

Biography: As a child born into a family with considerable wealth, it was already flowing out of her pockets the moment she was born. It obviously meant Anya didn't have to work as hard as her peers around her but this never stopped her from having the determination that she does today. Ever since her mother became sick, whether it was in school, sports, or simply helping out around the house, she would do it without question. She had few friends, but those that she did have were precious to her. A snowy evening in December marked a moment in her life that would become unforgettable. Anya and friends were marching their way home when they heard terrifying howling similar to that of dogs. It happened quickly, and not a moment later, frightening creatures emerged from the shadows and pounced, snapping at her friends. Anya felt her blood freeze over as she scrambled to help with whatever she could. A sudden voice from above screamed something, but she could not hear. Then, a shovel shot down, striking into the snow. It was obviously horrible for digging snow with its antique metal blade, but she had a feeling it was perfect for digging ice. Anya picked it up, and felt herself transforming immediately.

I have a few ideas for newcomers and I am still trying to decide which one best fits the RP, here is my elder magical girl though.

The steel gourmet, Rin Ishiyama

Name: Rin Ishiyama
Age: 31
Magical Element: Metal
Championing Artifact: A single glove
Gender: Female
Generation of Magical girl: Elder Guardian
Occupation: Waitress / Baker

Appearance:



-Pre-transformation
In her civilian form, Rin is a short woman with wavy brown hair going down to her neck, typically accompanied by a beret or other type of soft-looking hat should she not be on the uniform she uses when working for a local bakery.
-Post-transformation
The transformation makes her a bit taller, her hair getting straighter but being placed in a complex hairdo, her eyes also gain a honey-like colour. Based on a baker's outfit, with a chef's hat and an apron, the orange colour coded uniform gives a feeling of softness and sweetness that might not match how hard her magical, bow-decorated, kitchen utensils can hit.

Biography/Personality:
Rin had a pretty normal early life, she was an average girl with an average family. A happy-go-lucky girl, not exactly shy but very polite and not one to approach others by her own will, very dedicated at whatever she did and one who liked to keep things neat and organized. Like most girls of her time, she liked to watch magical girl shows. Though her favourite shows were the more whimsical ones, once a certain show popularized the concept of teams of magical girl soldiers, she lost interest.

Ironically, she found herself chosen to be a magical girl soldier, and although she had her small defiances here and there, typically by being extra silly in her power usage, she still dedicated all of her time to it. Perhaps too much, sacrificing much of her daily life, her school grades and many personal relationships so she could be out and about patrolling the streets. She didn't land any job like the ones she wanted, ending up working as a waitress in a small bakery near her home and selling her own pastries in the weekends, living in a small house with not many friends outside of other magical girls and even those...

Time always moves forward, and as much as her cheery personality conceals it, there is clearly some reluctance on her part on passing on the torch and accept her diminishing skills, after all, once the torch is gone, will she, the one who spent so much of her time on this, be left in the dark?

As I may be asked to address it at some point and I want to be polite and forward in my duties as a GM I feel obligated to note there were some minor grammatical errors present and mixed uses of "in" and "on" may be confusing but these did not impede my ability to understand the text presented. So just be sure to double check and all.

I like her upbeat personality and I am eager to see how she'll use her metal kinetic abilities in fun and unexpected ways. As a mentor character her interactions with the group will be fun to see, but bear in mind they have lives and such so mind her schedules. I look forward to RP'ing with you if you are still ready to play! Feel free to move her to the characters section and I will add you into the roster.

Also, I encourage you all to remember you can play one character in each generation to fill in the times your characters would not be present for. If you feel you would have to force a character into a scenario often feel free to submit a second character and switch them off when you feel the necessity!

Biography/Personality
Koharu is a girl who always tries to look on the bright side of things, to always be positive no matter the situation. For those who know of her home life - its a miracle she can be that way. Koharu lives with an alcoholic father and a mother who barely acknowledges her, she finds it difficult to be in the house with either of them and spends a lot of her time outside, not returning home until the last minute and then spending all her time in her room. She struggles with finding a purpose in life. The only thing that Koharu has been able to find a passion for is swords - her grandfather used to make them for shows and props, she loved to watch him and wanted to learn how to swing them just as gracefully as he did. The times she spent with her grandfather were her favorite, when he died it hit her hard. He was the only person in her family who actually paid attention to her.
Koharu never expected to be chosen as a Guardian, to have the fate of protecting a seal thrust upon her. But after holding her artifact and feeling the warmth radiating from them she came to realize that perhaps this was a way for to find her place - she finally had a reason to keep on moving forward. She also sees this as a way to makes friends, something that she has a hard time with. She feels awkward around new people and doesn't know how to talk to people.
On the outside Koharu comes off as obnoxious and loud, she doesn't always think things through and will make mistakes. She is fiercely loyal though and takes her role as a Guardian very seriously, though trying to balance that with high school is harder that it looks. Her artifact tales the appearance of two chopsticks, on a normal day she wears them in her hair as decoration - when she needs to transform they transform with her to look like two katana.

Question, how "raw" should elemental powers be? Like, not what I am thinking of doing, but should fire powers be raw elemental burst of flame / lava or could it be something like, the creation of a fire lance / whip or the ability to throw fireworks and the like?

Depends on the generation of the character you're running. Ideally a new generation magical girl is quite literally out of the box so to say, like maybe a week since they were chosen as a guardian. So the extent of their powers will be incredibly raw in practice until they either play around with it and figure it out on their own (which will take a lot longer for them to figure out form and control), or they are instructed directly by their elder.

As for the elders, as creative as you can get. Molten lava can be arguably Fire or Metal depending on perspective. Similarly can the water magical girl control the water inside of plants? My personal take would be yes, with extreme difficulty and imprecision since it's like manipulating a puppet by their strings rather than by their arms directly. If that makes sense.

So, the primary difference is the new fire magical girl would be needing to really focus just to spew fire out of her hands while the elder could say smack her hands together Full Metal Alchemist style and part her hands to a literal fire lance and throw it to cause massive explosions.

So tl:dr, raw or refined relative to their experience. And mind you, the elder magical girls are also "past their prime" and are slowly declining in power while the new ones are slowly rising in power.

The Wellwater Tavern - A High Fantasy Slice of Life Comedy

We are the tavern keepers of The Wellwater Inn, a struggling local inn for adventurers to come and rest their feet. We would be taking turns manning the counter, and trying to satisfy our customer's (Played by the other player) needs. Our goal would be to satisfy our customers, gaining good reviews for our tavern, and slowly building up fame for the success of our inn.

This is simple and straight forward. We'd simply be taking turns playing Tavern Keeper as our main characters, and then we take turns running characters we make up without warning to make eachother laugh with tales of adventure, the personal problems of their lives, and the general goings on within our tavern. This is as casual as casual gets, just a chance to unwind and be a little silly.

Dread Unlife - Zombie Survival - Romance and/or Survival Horror

Two Doctors with an antidote sample must deliver it to a military facility after the facility they developed it at was overrun and made inoperable by the zombie swarm.... Survival is all that matters. Lack of food, clean water, the constant threat of infection, hysterical humans who relish in the anarchy, and the dreaded zombie hordes themselves stand in the way of the last hope for humanity.... Will our heroes make it out alive? Or will the age of Humankind finally come to an end?

Someone was floating the idea of a 1x1 zombie survival RP, got me craving something like that now. Could be a Romance, could be a gritty horror, could even be a little bit of both. Let's talk about it!~ I just really wanna do a zombie RP now.

The Cyberbird - Sci-fi/Cyberpunk Future Noire

A detective and their partner must track down and capture the elusive hacker known only as Cyberbird before they perfect a super virus that will hack into the local area's populace with cybernetic brain enhancements as well as potentially the AI controlled androids that run most of the city. The two main characters were selected thanks to their lack of brain cybernetics, which prevent them from being directly hacked by the criminal. This however can be a double edged sword, how do they catch an online criminal when they can't even trace their online presence?

Before you ask, yes that is a Ghost in the Shell reference! Well, the title is anyway. I expect this one to play out a little more ground level cop/detective work, more akin to Irobot with a kind of Bladerunner aesthetic to it. I'm open to more genre subplots in this one, but I would like to mainly focus on a crime drama kind of plot line. I would have Cyberbird's plan mapped out in some private notes elsewhere, and play my character to have a slow methodical approach to catching them. My partner would be free to explore and list some assets they would be able to bring to the table in our investigation for later use to catch the criminal. I think this idea would be incredibly hard to pull off, but OH so rewarding if we worked at it right!

ps: This might require a tad of cooperative world building, so if you like working on world building lets have some fun with it! I wouldn't be hard GM'ing the world around me so don't feel scared to pursue areas you'd be more in control of than I would.

A DnD 5e RP - High Fantasy Adventure

A small time group of mercenaries Adventurers take on their first big time gig, taking out a savage Orcish settlement that has terrorized a farming village. With the reward money, they plan to finally can afford a proper guild hall!

It's a basic adventure that can turn into more adventures at our own discretion. We can each have 2 characters to keep our cast diverse, all based in DnD 5e's player race and class arrangements. Pretty uh.... Pretty straight forward huh?
