@MrSkelly We've got six people who've shown interest so far, but I have no problem with a seventh. The OOC is HERE.
@Tojin Average humans. In terms of supernatural abilities, the most I can see anyone having is something lie precognitive dreams or a mild sixth sense that warns them of danger, but barely on the same level to be considered a talented tarot card reader.
Vor Shinse rubbed the sleep from her eyes. Ever since she'd returned from Old Man's Corner she'd been endlessly hounded. Apparently she hadn't thought her plan through too well on how to evenly distribute caps amongst the slaves. The slaves that survived, anyway. The whole thing had quickly devolved into a bloodbath with slaves and slavers alike killing off anyone who had slighted them in the past or whom they perceived to be a threat. Personally, she wasn't mourning the dead slavers and it wasn't like the Brotherhood had given her a dressing down, they were to focused on taking the fight to the Enclave, but she wished she'd considered her options long enough to save a few more slaves. She'd been so focused of how to deal with the slavers that she'd caused innocent slaves to get caught in the crossfire.
She'd ended up giving up on dividing the loot and caps evenly. She eventually pocketed a few thousand caps and gave the rest of the loot and caps to the surviving slaves. Somehow she'd ended up with a Power Armor frame at the end of it all, but she still considered it more of a hindrance than a help if she ran out of fusion cores. Making her way to the dining area of Sky Citadel, Vor Shinse sat down to eat for the fourth time that day, cursing her metabolism yet grateful for the food. At that point it was the only thing giving her the energy to stay awake.
Along the shore the cloud waves break, The twin suns sink behind the lake, The shadows lengthen
In Carcosa.
Strange is the night where black stars rise, And strange moons circle through the skies, But stranger still is
Lost Carcosa.
Songs that the Hyades shall sing, Where flap the tatters of the King, Must die unheard in
Dim Carcosa.
Song of my soul, my voice is dead, Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed Shall dry and die in
Lost Carcosa.
Not All Who Enter Here Will Survive.
There is a place few have tread, a place unknowable by mortal minds. It is a cold world of eternal night, where galaxies dot the sky like stars, where the thick, choking, humid air alone could drive a person mad. A place where the laws of nature appear inverted and incomprehensible monstrosities roam. Those who have walked such lands have arrived either through impossible passageways, tunnels that descend deep into the earth, while others have entered this world through the Dreamlands, traversing the limitations of time and space by escaping the confines of the waking world.
Amidst the darkness lies a city in ruin, forgotten by time, rarely acknowledged by the sane minds of man. Within its deepest, darkest corners lie several thrones, each occupied by a different, crowned figure. It is to one of these creatures that you must petition if you ever hope to leave this place, but your success is not assured.
Few who enter this place ever leave, and those who remain do not survive. Many things can be lost in this place. Life. Sanity. Humanity. Those who escape the Immemorial City rarely retain all three.
This RP is looking for around five people.
This will not be a slice of life. This will not be a school RP. This will be the Bloodborne and Dark Souls of RP.
The purpose of this RP is to flesh out a world I have been building for some time, based on the works of Robert W. Chambers and H.P Lovecraft.
Look around you right now. What do you have on you? Think about what you have on you at work, when you go to sleep, when you go for a drive down the road. If you suddenly found yourself in a place of pitch black, lost in the cold and the dark, how would you fare? This is the situation your characters will find themselves in.
This is an RP focused on survival and character interaction. Confronting an enemy will likely get you killed.
RULES:
- Clearly, no godmodding. There are no gods here.
- Minimum post length of four or five sentences. This includes merely responding to another character.
- No Mary Sues. Even that will not save your character.
- The GM reserves the right to kill your character. The GM reserves the right to change the rules.
- Do not expect a happy ending.
- No supernatural races (Vampires, Werewolves, etc).
- If you want to explore the depths of human sexual depravity, do it in PM's. Firstly, those are the site rules, secondly, I don't have much of a stomach for that.
- Try to use appropriate grammar. Even if you need to edit the post. In which case, provide edit notes.
- If/when you die, new characters are acceptable.
Name -
Gender -
Age -
Appearance - (Images are fine, written description preferred, both an image and written description is more than welcome.)
Occupation -
Inventory - (What your character had on them upon finding themselves displaced.)
Brief Character Background - (How would you describe yourself, you personality, your life in a few sentences?)
Setting
The means with which you discovered this place can vary. Some have travelled to this place through tunnels, some of which are scarcely large enough to accommodate a man, while others are large enough to navigate by car. Others have found themselves waking under alien skies every moment they close their eyes or whenever they seek a moments rest. Some will find themselves trapped in this place for greater periods of time until they find themselves unable to wake, while other never awoke at all. How did you come by this place? Through the realm of nightmares? In a misguided experiment with lucid dreaming? Were you chasing what you thought to be some sort of animal that had been terrorizing your neighborhood, following it into the mouth of some cave only to find yourself lost in the purest sense of the word? No matter the method with which you arrived, all those who find themselves in this place always receive the same welcome. The audience of darkness and loneliness, with no other human or earthly presence perceivable by any of your limited, human senses.
The air you breathe is thick, humid and cold yet also thinner somehow. The burdens of the earth have deserted you and you feel lighter with your steps carrying you farther than you are accustomed. There is no moon or sun that you can see, the only light coming from galaxies that dot the sky like stars, occasionally obscured by heavy, black clouds. Around you are sounds unfamiliar to your mortal ears, animalistic yet foreign to you. Where do you find yourself? What do you hear? The only familiar sound is that of rushing water, invisible to your eyes that are incapable of adjusting to such an absence of light. Is it a stream? A lake? A river? Do you dare seek it out?
No matter the choice you make, only one desire holds precedence over all else; Making your way home.
Well then. Much to my own surprise we have five people who seem interested! As such, I'm going to do two things: Brush up on King in Yellow right quick and get started on an OOC topic, CS skeletons and the like.
