@Polybius Alright. Your character has been accepted although I would appreciate it if you added a picture of your character's armour. I'm fine with the added conflicts, given that the universe this story takes place in has a ton of madness and war.
@ClocktowerEchos Wait, you changed the date?

@ClocktowerEchos I would appreciate it if you told me if my application was accepted or not. If you did previously, then I am afraid that I may have missed it out.
Name: Conrad Tueller

Codename: Shade

Age: 36

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Personality: Tueller is a quiet and cold individual whose main priority is finishing the mission, not caring if his teammates die, befitting his consummate professional nature. He is completely emotionless most of the time, showing little empathy and sympathy towards his victims. Tueller is almost completely dedicated to orders, and will do whatever it takes to complete them. His tendency to move almost supernaturally quietly is what earned him the name 'Shade', which he accepted, occasionally and ironically bringing up the fact that he used to be a member of SHADE, a special ops group who was known to do some of the most dangerous missions.

Reason for Hire: Hired some time after becoming a ruthless bounty hunter and taking out one of the UEG's most wanted criminals.

History: Most of Tueller's early history and childhood is a mystery, being highly classified information that only the highest ranked Seventh Column personnel know of. However, it is known that he was a Special High-risk Assault/Defence (SHADE) operative, a highly trained and classified special operations unit under the UEGNC who fought in the Colonial Uprising, an ongoing conflict between the UEGNC and rebel colonies who did not want to live under the UEG's rule. He was a highly efficient and dangerous sniper who made kills with pinpoint accuracy, one of his most notable achievements is perhaps managing to snipe an enemy pilot in the cockpit of his fighter travelling at Mach speed while Tueller was more than a dozen kilometres away and inside a moving dropship.

Due to reasons unknown, perhaps due to bad pay, Tueller left SHADE and became a freelance bounty hunter who assassinated more than a hundred high-profile targets before he was contacted and hired by the UEG itself. The UEG hired him to assassinate Dean Connery, leader of the infamous terrorist group False Testimony. The group was responsible for the bombing of numerous colonies, and the Asgard Avalanche, one of the most well-known terror attacks where the group set off explosives on the mountains surrounding the tundra world Valhalla's capital city Asgard, killing millions and partially destroying the city. It was the reason Connery was one of the UEG's Most Wanted.

Despite the sheer difficulty of this task, Tueller nonetheless spent months tracking down Connery, finally locating him on the UEG colony Arcadia. The rebel leader was staying in one of the colony's many resorts located by the sea, in front of Arcadia's largest rainforest. Tueller took him out at night, sniping him from more eight kilometres away from inside a cave as Connery was using the washroom, leaving him open due to a window that was conveniently head-level. The .62 caliber hypervelocity railgin slug fired from Tueller's SR2991 sniper rifle easily punched through the crystal polyglass and into the head of the rebel leader, tearing through skull and brain matter like tissue paper. No one noticed until next morning thanks to Tueller using a silencer on his rifle and being virtually invisible due to being so far away, and he slipped away like a ghost. When hotel staff found Connery, he was slumped over the toilet seat, with half his head missing and brain splattered all over the wall.

After the contract was fulfilled, he returned to the UEG and was awarded a huge amount of Credits, and was hailed as a hero although he did not want his name or identity to be revealed. Just a day or two after this, his exploits were noticed by Seventh Column, a shadow organisation and contract agency, and he was hired and chosen to lead a newly-formed mercenary team.

Weapons and Equipment: Tueller wields his signature SR2991 Sniper Rifle, an incredibly powerful ranged weapon that fires .62 caliber armour penetrating rounds at hypersonic speeds using its electromagnetic rail system. This allows launched projectiles to have an effective range of more than twelve kilometres. It is equipped with a smart targeting system, a sort of 'autoaiming' system that tracks targets and tells the wielder where to aim, although Tueller normally uses his own instincts and skills to make kills.

His secondary weapon is a Pharaoh Tactical Firearms SG29 Shotgun which fires 6-gauge rounds. It can switch between a semi-automatic and automatic fire mode, and can fire slugs, buckshot, or flechettes. Like most conventional human-made weapons, projectiles are propelled by a series of magnetic coils.

He uses a 9-inch obsidian-edged combat knife for melee uses. Despite being highly skilled in ranged kills, he is also a brutal close combat fighter.

His Tactical Cloak allows him to hide from view and turn invisible, the only evidence of him being there is an almost unnoticeable shimmer in the air. If he is hit or if something collides into him, the cloak flickers and exposes him, and if he takes too much damage, the cloak will fail. Moving tends to interfere with the invisibility cells and will also expose him if he moves too quicky.

Skills and Abilities: Tueller is an expert sniper and cunning strategist, being able to plan out complex strategies to take out targets. He is skilled in all sorts of weapons and vehicles, being both a trained pilot and operator thanks to his hellish training from SHADE. He is a deadly combatant, well-versed in numerous hand-to-hand combat techniques.

Quotes: 'Unfortunate.'

On a side note, I admit that Tueller is basically an even deadlier expy of the mercenary Locus from the webseries Red vs. Blue.

Welcome to Seventh Column, killer.
----------------------------------------------------

Humanity has long since spread to the stars after the discovery of the Relative Interdimensional Field Transit Faster-Than-Light drive in the mid 23rd century, a device that worked by cutting a hole into reality itself, then proceeding to burrow into an alternate dimension of space known as RIFTVOID where the speed of light is several times faster than in realspace. With this, humanity quickly went interstellar, colonising planet after planet, star system after star system. Of course, someone needed to govern all that. And thus, the United Earth Government was formed, born from the crumbling ruins of the old United Nations. For the first few decades or so there was peace.

However, in the late 23rd century, a group of colonists on the edge of human space rebelled, not wanting to be controlled by a single planetary body. At first, they were peaceful, but quickly turned to violence when they were ignored by the UEG. These rebels resorted to terror tactics such as bombing local cities and attacking civilian ships. The UEG, not taking kindly to these terrorists, formed their military wing, the United Earth Government Naval Command. This new military crushed the untrained rebels, and relative peace was restored. Relative peace, because rebels would continue to stage guerrilla attacks on colonies year after year, although they thankfully weren't that much of a threat anymore.

It is now the year 2839. While the colonies located the closest to Earth may seem like distant utopias and beacons of human achievements, the Outer Colonies were not so much. These planets, due to the UEG having little influence on them, were almost lawless, a place where corporations would participate in black market deals, and where insurgents were most active.

This was precisely the reason why Seventh Column, a shadowy assassination agency, hired a team of four of the best mercenaries and assassins in the colonies to deal with this scum of the earth. Seventh Column was feared for its extreme efficiency in taking out targets, and rightfully so. They hired only the most lethal and remorseless killers out there. No one really knew about Seventh Column, only that they existed somewhere out there. But they do have a way of inspiring rookie mercenaries to work for a position.

A very large paycheck.
