Would a teleportation semblance be acceptable? It will be Identical to Nightcrawler's ability from X-Men. However, after a specified number of uses, the affiliated user becomes fatigued-making them less useful in combat; as well as a higher vulnerability to lethal damage. The affiliated user can also transport others with this ability. However, doing so doubles the consumption of aura.
Just a rough aspect of the teleportation ability in relation to a user's Aura.
That's fine for the most part. It's practically Ruby's semblance.
do we need to do teams? This is as AU as it gets while not straying into things like RL high school AU. From what I understood the academies are even nonexistant. Isn't it just making things difficult? for one you would have to somehow make certain the number of players is divisible by four...
I thought about this, and decided to just remove teams. You bring up a valid point.
Remnant. A land divided. First came the great war. Then came the Faunus war. The humans and Faunus fight each other doggedly, both sides refusing any talks for peace. As the war dragged on, both sides started to get more and more intolerant of the other. The human kingdoms make Menagerie into one large "labor" camp for the Faunus. The Faunus's White Fang pride themselves in "cleansing" the inferior human race. These are just a few of the examples of several war crimes committed by both sides.
With such a massive war in progress, both human and Faunus alike ignored the Grimm who also inhabit this world. They both thought the Grimm was mere wildlife, an afterthought. There were those who hunted Grimm, but they were few and far between. These hunters lacked structure, training. Their warnings were left unanswered. Many just believed they were blowing the situation out of proportion. After all, the Grimm were just beasts. Once the war was over, the armies of the Kingdoms or the Faunus would drive them into extinction.
This was hardly the case. The ongoing war strengthened the Grimm, for the suffering and heartache in such a brutal war fed them. In their unchecked state, they began razing many lands from both Human and Faunus alike. It was only when Mantle was overrun that the Humans started to realize they had severely underestimated the capabilities of the Grimm. Atlas decided to send a field army to retake Mantle before the situation became untenable.
Long story short, they succeeded. At a heavy cost. The Grimm seemed to outflank them within the city, and the seemingly easy, straightforward fight became a living hell. Even after the army had captured the entire city, they found Grimm hiding in the buildings, waiting to ambush anyone unlucky enough to step into their trap. Atlas was shocked. The Grimm were showing signs of intelligence once thought only capable by Humans and Faunus.
It was a big wake-up call for the citizens of Remnant. For the first time, Humans and Faunus decided to end hostilities between their peoples. While animosity has not disappeared between the two races, they now realize they will have to band together in order to avoid mutual destruction by Grimm.
Thus, a rallying call has been sounded. Any able-bodied persons capable of fighting are to meet in Fort Beacon, for immediate assignment into units. It could not come at a more opportune time- The Grimm are nearly at Vale's gates. This impromptu Alliance will now stand together or crumble together.
Setting
For this RP, you will be an individual who has answered the call to arms at Fort Beacon. I am very flexible about character backgrounds, you can be from the Kingdoms, White Fang, or a freelancer. There are of course more options available to you, so feel free to just run it by me if you're not sure. I will also be assigning "Teams", as this is a RWBY rp still after all.
Rules 1. Be kind to each other. If you have a problem with someone else, first take it to PMs out of common courtesy. If it is a real issue that impacts the rp, PM me. 2. IF a fight does break out please do not incite the flames. Just PM me and I'll see what should happen after calming everyone down. 3. No mary sues/marty sues- self-explanatory. I will simply reject your CS. 4. No godmodding of any sorts. That means no autohits or meta gaming. If it is an insignificant enemy, then by any means just feel free to do whatever. But if a fight breaks out between players or a "boss", this rule applies 5. While I am not very strict about grammar or post size, I do want at least 2 or 3 sentences at the very least, as it is a casual rp. 6. Please try to let us know if you are alive or if you are unable to post. I know life happens, but it's nice if we get an advance warning so I can prepare for this eventuality. 7. No smut. PMs. Romance is fine, but please don't smut it up. 8. Have fun :)
This is just the REQUIRED information. Feel free to fiddle with format and whatnot, as long as you have these. Appearance: Name: Race:(faunus/human) Gender: Age: Affiliation: (If your character is part of a certain group) Semblance: Weapon: Personality: Bio:
Your typical RWBY rp follows the events of the show for the most part, with the slice of life of Beacon Academy... But I figured that you're sick and tired of that.
Instead, this RWBY rp follows an alternate history. A RWBY universe where the Faunus War never truly ended- The Faunus War simply escalates as time passes. The White Fang still makes an appearance, but instead of starting out as a peace-loving organization, they are volunteer fighters, known for their brutality and savagery.
The hunter schools are never founded, and while Beacon exists, it is a military base instead of a school, a staging area to support operations in the area.
Human and Faunus tensions remain high. Both sides participate in "ethnic cleansings", execution of POWs, rules of no quarter.
In the present time of the rp, both sides have come to a ceasefire. But not for peace, for "morals", but for a common enemy.
With the lack of hunters/huntresses, the Grimm have run amok. Hordes of the beasts have always preyed upon poor villages, but now they seem to conduct coordinated attacks on both Human and Faunus alike. Cities and bases once considered well-defended are now laid to waste, and armies from both species alike seem to be outflanked and outmaneuvered by Grimm.
Both species face extinction by Grimm. Realizing the threat the grimm face, a Human/Faunus army gathers now in Beacon, hoping their impromptu alliance might stem the tide.
You are a Human/Faunus who has decided to join this task force massing at Beacon, and are currently awaiting to receive your team assignment.
Feel free to ask any sort of questions at all, and of course, to express interest.
