I'm having way too much fun with my Legend of Zelda Encylopedia. This is the game that got me into roleplaying so have a lot invested in it's lore and stories. Too bad can't have all the games too.

Yulen had to marvel a little about just how unfazed Quinn was about the whole ordeal. Despite the fall she seemed completely fine and wasn't even shaken up a bit, she must have nerves of steel, or perhaps ignorance. Well, everything was well so that was good.

"Glad you weren't hurt at all. While I do have things I must get to, I can at least help you transport these ruffians to their holding cells." Yulen joked, referring to the Cuccos as criminals. "I'll take the other one for you. Here kid, hand that one over to me." The kid happily deposited the bird in his arms and then ran away to do whatever it was he wanted to do. Yulen looked menacing down at the bird but thankfully the bird had given up to its fate at this point.

As they walked the birds to their pens, Yulen got to talking with the rather energetic Quinn.

"Yep, I had just finished work for the day. While I am good enough to have the boss beg me to start full time, I have other duties to attend to which I can't ignore. I'm good at climbing, and good with tools so carpentry is rather easy for me but it will be never more than a side-job for me."

Yulen looked at Quinn as they walked. She was a rather, fresh-faced individual who looked rather young, even child-like. She was a bit rounded but with strong, gray eyes and soft freckles that made her look like a picture of innocence. His first impressions of her was that she was honest and hearty, a kind but rambunctious soul. She was certainly someone who would add some color to the traditionally drab Kakariko Village.

"You're fairly new around here, aren't you Quinn? What made you decide to move all the way out to our drab little village? Well, at least it was a drab little village years ago. Guess I can't really say that about this place anymore with all the new people moving in. I guess only a few years more before we become a bustling place on par with Castle Town."
In the end it comes down to what did the Sagas add to Star Wars?

Prequels established pre-Empire politics, the Jedi Order, the Clone Wars, all sorts of iconic jedi, and showed how the Jedi got completely hoodwinked and scattered to the winds despite their power. A lot of the designs of vehicles and robots were awesome, and it really did get right down to the 'war' part of Star Wars. The amount of cool toys and games to come out of it was astronomical.

Sequels gave us these: New characters, the complete destruction of the Jedi Order[At least in TLJ, don't know about ROS], deaths of most of the original cast, and porgs. Freaken porgs, one of the only things to actually sell well as merchandise. One thing I did like was the upgraded Tie-Fighter, a much needed upgrade to the original for sure.

Prequels just gave so much more for fans to explore and wonder about. The prequels as movies will never outdo the originals but the amount of interesting content it provided, along with the background to how the Empire came to be, still makes them more interesting to me. The sequels just didn't add anything that really caught the imagination, which just made me not care about them at all. As far as I'm concerned, the sequels are just a strange, alternate universe that will never be canon to most of the pre-sequel fans.

The sequels are essentially, Disney's Fan Fiction written by two different authors that hated each others' writing.

Hmmm...I wonder how well Nintendo Land is going to do. :)
<Snipped quote by IceHeart>
And none of this is in the movies because it is relegated to books, comics, and even fucking Battlefront 2 (did you know Battlefront 2 is so canon that it literally explains the start of The Last Jedi?) and that is the real tragedy of the sequels, that so much of it is relegated to outside material. If the sequels weren't set so close to the end of the OT and TFA didn't have to play it so safe that it might as well have just been hitting the reset button in The Matrix then maybe they could've done more to establish the stakes beyond "Oh it's the same but not really."

Ultimately the true success of the sequels is the characters. As long as you pretend Episode 9 didn't happen anyway.

You know I actually did know about Battlefront 2, but I never bought the game because I was very angry about the predatory practices being used in its gambling features. I was also angry that they tried to use the game as a way to explain the Sequel Movies, you should never have to buy a game to understand something about a freaken movie. Forcing such a tie in was one of the worst things that they ever did as such a blatant attempt to sell additional copies because you 'needed' to know that information. Games should always be a fun addition but never a need if they are related to a movie franchise.

I just refused to watch Episode 9 in theaters, maybe I'll give it a watch from a red box out of morbid curiosity but after the disaster of changing directors between movies, I knew there was no way the Sequels would be able to recover. TFA was just a sad rehash with some potential, TLJ just went in an entirely opposite direction and instead of having the gumption to go full steam with it, retracted itself as much as possible with episode 9.

The appropriate name for the Sequel Saga would probably be The Director Civil War Saga! Cause by the 2nd movie, that was pretty much what it had become. They tried to subvert expectations, got a ton of backlash, and just wimped out and tried to reverse course which probably just made things even worse than it had to be. So, Director Wars it is.
I pretty much know what to do with my character but seems like we might need to work a bit more on yours. So does Quinn have any family in the village? Is her job just to look after the birds right now? Does she have some sort of ambition she wants to strive for? Oh, and I was planning to have your character be the one to actually wield the Master Sword because of Yulan's lineage and skills.
I liked Star Wars as a kid and even know I like it but not to the same extent as back then. The Star Wars movies were fun and all but it was the various games I played based on the franchise that really got me into the series. I am not ashamed to say that I liked the prequels though I will easily admit there was a lot done wrong in them, especially the Phantom Menace. That said, what the Prequels managed to do was show how the Empire came to power and what the Republic was like before the Empire which was great at establishing lore. Just knowing what the Jedi Council was like and how many there were during that time period was exciting and interesting. Quite a few fun games were made based on the prequels that I had a lot of fun with and I did enjoy the Clone Wars series, even if it was a bit wonky.

Despite all the flaws, the Prequels opened up so much of interest to the fans about the Star Wars Universe, and prequel series like Knights of the Old Republic were fun and amazing, with quite a bit of influence from both the prequels and original sagas. Fans' imaginations soared and tons of role plays and games made the community feel alive. Also there are plenty of games like Jedi Knight that were placed after the original series and based on the Expanded Universe that were quite interesting, unique, and fun.

Then came along Disney with the Sequels and the first thing they do is declare the entire Expanded Universe as non-cannon. Ok, so technically that makes sense as you wouldn't want to be bound to the Expanded Universe when trying to make a sequel which is fine, but just the fact that they had to go out of their way to point that out was a bit concerning. It was a red flag for me, though a small one. Still there was a lot of good characters and story lines in the expanded universe, though admittedly I knew mostly just the game stuff but there were definitely a lot of good story lines and characters to mess around with. Also there were a lot of interesting politics that I gleaned from the few books I read about the New Republic and the challenges it faced, the sequels basically just blew it up, literally.

The rebels in the original were exactly that, rebels who were rebelling against a cruel and corrupt government that had changed a Republic into a Dictatorship. The resistance in the sequels were a group of basically militia that was attempting to stop the expanse of a somehow really powerful empire remnant group while the New Republic sat on its ass having parties and not caring about this rising menace because they weren't threatening the core worlds...like really? What happened to the other empire remnants? How did the New Republic become so corrupt, incompetent, and lazy in such a short time?

We have a resistance that cosplayed as rebels, we have a Republic that apparently only cares about money rather then running a galaxy, and somehow the Empire had some secret order that rose to Empire levels of power and construction despite not having access to the core worlds? It was all just so...random. Yes random is probably the best word I have for the Sequel Saga. Old characters either went in completely weird directions or regressed back to their earlier days. New characters had weird development and most things that would have made them interesting, was pretty much completely ignored as the movies were bounced between directors.

The world building was strange and just seemed out of context with everything that had happened before. I could not find the new characters interesting enough to want to get to know them. All of the villains seemed weird or just incompetent. The New Republic government was literally blown up in the first movie by a weapon bigger and stronger than both Death Stars which had the manpower of an entire Empire behind their construction. Hyperspace was completely messed up with a ship becoming a ramming weapon stronger than most conventional weapons. There were just so many strange and, in my opinion, bad world-building choices in the Sequels, I would never be tempted to play a game or do a role play based on the the Sequel Saga.

Is Star Wars dead? No and I'm sure it never will be; however as long as Disney continues their current course, they will continue to see massive declines in anything Star Wars related, especially if it is related to the Sequel Saga. The Sequel Saga is a dead saga in many eyes, I for one greater prefer LEGENDS to the new canon despite its obvious flaws because I just find it so much more interesting. The Sequels nuked the politics side of Star Wars with a big gun and I just found the Saga dull and uninspired. I'll stick with Kyle Katarn and the Jedi Academy Star Wars over the Sequels thanks.
Hmmm...love Flan but not sure what to do with her now. I was thinking of having some harvest slimes go out and scour the mountain for anything potentially delicious but aside form that...nor sure what to do. Doesn't help that I know hardly anything about actual cooking. She lives to serve so doesn't make much sense for her to leave the Chateau herself.
Warcraft III classic was the height of 'good' Blizzard[in my experience], so many good memories playing all sorts of zany and interesting custom maps, and just playing through campaign mode. Then they just let it kind of crumble away and they've been trash ever since, as they just kept most of their resources devoted to WoW and finally came out with Starcraft II which was just...not as good as the first one. I could never get into MMORPGs for very long so I never bothered with WoW so after I gave Starcraft II a chance and was disappointed, Blizzard just faded from my game scope.

I didn't even know they were making a Warcraft III remaster until I saw articles about how bad it was in comparison to the original. XD

Tem-Tem seems interesting and could potentially be a good alternative to Pokemon, a series that I also used to love but fell out of love with. I can't say I'm a big fan of the graphics though and I'm really trying to avoid buying any more early access titles, really don't want to pay for an unfinished product. I've done that a few times and...they seem to have a really hard time getting out of that early access stage.

Best to wait for the product to be complete otherwise you just might have paid for a game that is never finished, or just poorly optimized. I understand it helps them make the money needed to finish the game, but I'm afraid the temptation to use that as an excuse to squeeze more money out of people can be easily abused with Early Access. At the very least you should be able to buy the game at a discounted price if you decide on Early Access.
That is a rather impressive skill to fall asleep while writing!

Well at the moment it makes sense to have shorter replies until we have something else to write about. While I think of a good excuse to get our characters to climb Death Mountain Trail, our characters should probably have some more interaction in the village as well as establish their characters a bit more. Maybe explore their families and situations a bit.
The struggle was real as Yulen stubbornly held on to the cucco as it tried to escape but he was having none of that. He held on was tightly as he could, until he suddenly saw a shadow fall upon him. He looked up just in time to see someone literally jumping over him.

"W-What?" He said in surprise and lost his grip on the bird which attempted to 'fly' away, but the person managed to grab the bird...and then fall off the ledge. Yulen fell on his butt when he let out of the bird and watched in horror as he watched the girl, who he know recognized as Quinn, a fairly new arrival to the expanding town, disappear over the edge.

"Quinn!" He shouted as he scrambled over to the edge to see what had become of her, fearing the worst. As soon as he managed to look down though, he noticed Quinn gently descending down to the ground with a screaming cucco, shedding its feathers like crazy as it flapped like a headless chicken. Yulen gave a dry chuckle and a sign of relief as she touched down safely and looked back up him to thank him.

"By the Goddesses, don't scare me like that." Yulen grumbled but couldn't help but smile as she started to scold the stupid bird. "That's what you get you stupid bird, I hope you get fried for supper."

That complaint out of the way he decided it was best to go down and at least make sure she was alright. He wouldn't be able to spend too much time as he had other things to do, but well, it was kind of his fault he supposed that she had fallen over the ledge in the first place, even if she was the one to jump. Yulen, not wanting to make the extra effort, descended the ledge which was easy enough to do since he was no longer holding on to a feathered beast.

"So that's your bird is it? Glad you've managed to wrangle the bugger in, still, do you like falling off ledges as a hobby?" Yulen joked as he tried to see if she was hurt at all. "That was rather reckless considering where we were."

Event: Thanksgiving Day Parade Begins

Entity-chan's eyes lit up as she recognized the brush wielder. While his abilities were interesting, the real reason she remembered was because he had been the one to treat her to that marvelous desert. Anyone willing to treat Entity was ranked a little bit higher in its book.

"Thank you for the treat the other day! Hmmm, about a month now? I suppose for you that might be quite a while." The Entity pondered while tapping its chin with an index finger. Her eyes rolled up a bit in thought but then she noticed that none of them seemed to recognize her.

"Oh right silly me, you humans rely quite heavily on visual stimulation to recognize things. I could change into that form I took but that would be a no-no considering where we are so you'll just have to get used to my new look! I'm the umm...person who informed you for the current situation of things." Entity-chan gave a little twirl and wink for good measure, just because.

"I would ask you to treat me again, but I believe in this city there are quite a few, Thanksgiving Feasts that happen after the so-called, Thanksgiving Parade, which is open to the public so I fully intend to stuff my face then! If I'm not mistaken, that Parade should be beginning shortly." As if on cue, several speakers that had been set up around the festivities areas started blaring an announcement.

"THE ANNUAL ANGEL CITY THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE WILL BE START IN JUST A MOMENT! PLEASE VACATE THE PARADE ROUTE AND ENJOY!"

Thankfully, the route was very clearly marked and almost no one was in it, expect for a few people who wanted to quickly get to the other side of the road. Soon cheers erupted from the Parade's starting grounds as the groups and floats started making their way down.

The first things to appear were native american and pilgrim dancers, prancing around in unison and perfectly coordinated in pilgrim, native pairs. A few turkey costumes also flittered about, happy that they were not the ones used for Thanksgiving dinner. Next was a band that was letting out some rousing tunes, followed by several floats. The floats ranged from patriotic, to historic, from religious, to secular, almost anything that people had to be thankful for was represented in the Parade.

"The city really knows how to put on a good spectacle!"

"Well here goes nothing!" Emily said trying to psyche herself up for her upcoming performance. Putting on a brave face, she took her first steps as the Seraphim High School gymnastics team took to their stage. In order to make sure they could pull off their stunts, the team was on a moving float, of course being on a moving stage was a lot more dangerous than a usual performance so a lot of their more daring tricks were forbidden. The only other friend of Emily's on the team was Denise, while Akari was in woodwinds and Katherine was part of the tennis club.

There were only about eight allowed on the float at a time to make sure there was enough room and of course because of safety concerns. Emily and Denise put on their best smiles as they started their routine. The routine was kept simple, since they would be at it for a while, but there were plenty of flips and cartwheels involved. It wouldn't be their best work but it was impressive considering where they were doing it.

Emily just hoped she had the stamina to keep it up till the end. She started to notice a strange ticking sound, but she really couldn't tell where it was coming from. Well in a way it was helpful for keeping her rhythm so she just put it in the back of her mind as she did her routine.
