Damn, sorry to hear that. Wonder how that happened.
I just wanna say that I like the idea of interactive flashback scenes. I find that pretty intriguing (rather than normal flashbacks that simply characterize an individual or individuals of one player).

I guess I was just so caught up in the role he was pretending to be that it never occurred to me that it could be fake. It was also one of the first PS3 games I got (I got a PS3 late) so that may have had something to do with it. Everything I was playing back then was blowing my mind lol.

Telltale is awesome as well. My favorite of theirs is Tales of the Borderlands, but I haven't finished Life is Strange yet (though that was done by Dotnod, not Telltale).
@FantasyChic
Glad somebody besides myself liked both of those games, only I'm the opposite. I feel like Heavy Rain had the far better story and Beyond Two Souls had the far better gameplay. I think Heavy Rain left an impact on me because I didn't see the plot twist coming. Like, it legit caught me off guard and maybe that's shameful to admit lol. That was also the first time I'd played a game like that so it was memorable. While the story in Beyond didn't live up to my expectations, the gameplay was a lot better than heavy rain. I enjoyed playing it whereas I enjoyed watching Heavy Rain more than the gameplay segments.

@Viciousmarrow
Although I disagree, I can actually see where you're coming from. I had friends that said the same thing so they watched it and enjoyed it, but hated the look of the gameplay. I, for one, loved the emphasis on brutal melee combat so I tried not use guns whenever I could. It just felt so right for the world of the game. In the end though, I appreciate Naughty Dog for their characterizations and story above their gameplay lol. I wouldn't say they've revolutionized gameplay with either Last of Us or Uncharted to be honest.
@corneredbliss
You're not the only one. I wouldn't say Last of Us is my favorite game of all time, but it's definitely one of my favorite games of all time. The story really was that good. That's why I have so much faith in UC4 - it's directed by the Last of Us guys.
@FantasyChic
I did Jude only for the hand to hand style lol. I love hand to hand combat. I like Berseria's lead character too. She looks badass.
@FantasyChic
Zestiria is indeed some crap, but we are kindred spirits; Tales of Xillia is my absolute favorite. I loved every second of that damn game. I only played the Jude route, but I did all the post game stuff and stayed over leveled all the way through lol. Great combat system, geez. It made it that much more painful that Zestiria sucked.

Berseria looks damn great too. I'm excited for that one, I Amy even go PC for it.
@Oxenfree
You have a point. I'm more speaking to the aesthetic. I much prefer the dark Fantasy visual style and atmosphere of Bloodborne versus the medieval tragedy of Souls. A minor thing really lol. I miss the gun and back and side step too versus the panic roll lol.
@FantasyChic
I would love to like horror games, but I'm too much of a bitch to play them lol. Mass Effect 2 is one of my favorite games of all time, man that game was so good. I don't know that I can name a favourite RPG series really. Persona, Tales of, Final Fantasy, Witcher, and Mass Effect are some of my favorites. Persona 4 is close to the top though, while Witcher 3 is one of the best games I've ever played in general.

I do play COD, but sparingly.

@Oxenfree
Bioshock Infinite was pretty enjoyable to me. Good story. I've been playing Souls 3, but slowly. Bloodborne is my favorite souls like game so I'm hoping we get a sequel to that.
@Viciousmarrow
I played the hell out of the original Ultimate Ninja Storm. I feel like each progressive entry got lazier though? Ultimates were no longer flashy QTE cutscenes and story mode got shorter and more barebones. Tekken 6 is my favorite, but it was 3 before that; I just love juggling lol.

That makes perfect sense considering I was never a Street Fighter guy either, at least not until just now with Street Fighter V. That game is inexplicably fun to me lol.
