I have fallen I'll. And might not be online a lot this week. But here's my idea:
~~~ /-\. K. /-\. ~~~
This entity is also named Tzartetroth by the medieval demonologist Ioannes Wierius, who described him as "The Slumberer in the Abyss" in his infamous grimoire "On the Illusions of the Demons and on Spells and Poisons", and Alibeck of Memphis said in his "True Grimoire" that the ancients knew him as Tsalgyar Gorbuth the dark toad-headed god of dreams. Some more recent demonologists and occult scholars have identified him with the gnostic Tsabbaoth and with the corrupt Hidden Master of black brotherhood of the fallen theosophists, Bao Zha Tsu.
Tsaelzarbuoth is an old one. He cannot measure his age in years. This is partly due to the long periods spent in a sort of unholy hibernation. This process causes a sort of temporal disorientation that weighs heavily upon his mind. For all he knows, Tsaelzarbuoth could be dreaming still, this whole existence a reflection created by his sleeping mind. Rest assured, however that his name can be found in the records of the first angelic rebellion...
Tsaelzarbuoth was once a renowned name in the Empire of Darkness. A master of illusions, and an explorer of the depths of the demonic realms. He assisted Astaroth with astronomy. He navigated the night lands with Nergal. He charted the chasms of chaos with Chemosh. And had many other epic and alliterative exploits in the History of Hell.
Unfortunately for him, he possessed a trait most peculiar to the fallen, and damned. He was a dreamer. An ardent optimist. A creature of imagination, and a purveyor of wonder. And it wasn't ambition, hunger, or even suicidal recklessness that drove him to explore the realms of the underworld, and of Chaos, and of Old Night. It wasn't desire or the hope of finding forbidden treasures. No, it was instead a simple thing. A common thing. Perhaps even a human thing. Curiosity.
Common curiosity lead him to find the gateway that would be the annihilation of all that he thought he was, and the birth of his new potential. The thing that he found was far older than any angel or devil. It was at once a being, and a place. A piece of an old experiment in the creation of existence that the divine had forsaken. And the fragments of twisted lore that he learned from this city-chimera was enough to break his mind.
He sought refuge in sleep, and dreams from the insane things he'd learned from that broken off part if a former creation. But the very nature of his new understanding gave substance and depth to his dreams that had never existed before. The forbidden knowledge combined with his mastery of illusions, allowed him to bridge his dreams into the dreams of others. Thus did he become Sloth, The Slumberer in Darkness, and eventually unleash plagues of nightmares, and insanity upon the early humans of earth.
Tsaelzarbuoth is cautious, and reserved. Patient. He could wait until the Dsy of Judgement in dreams, and daydreams, if the paranoia didn't get ahold of him every once in a while. The fear creeps in slowly sometimes. Other times it comes on quick, and disturbingly.
It would almost seem that his former adventurous spirit is now completely broken down his ancient transfiguration. But this is not the case entirely. As he is an escapist, surrounding himself with fantasies, and dreamworlds in which he can forget the ominous things that he discovered long ago, and pretend that things will be alright.
He is Sloth. And so he does procrastinate. And he does treasure rest, and relaxation. As he knows that even death will not release him into the safety, and peace of oblivion which is what he truly longs for.
He likes to fool others.
He likes to be efficient.
He likes to forget reality, and pretend.
He likes to hide.
He likes spiders.
He likes likes chocolate cupcakes with vanilla icing.
He likes to play video games.
He likes ASMR.
He dislikes wealth, and the wealthy.
He dislikes needless conflict.
He dislikes rashness.
He dislikes modern human fashion/beauty standards.
He dislikes coffee.
He dislikes winter, cold weather, and snow.
He dislikes machismo.
He dislikes discomfort.
"Take care to recite heartfelt prayers to the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Mother Mary before you retire to sleep, for this devil is the first nightmare. Progenitor of all other nightmares, and sleep daemons. It can enter, and manipulate even a pious man's dreams. And should it ever awake, and make it's way out of the infernal realms it could weave the very stuff of dreams into potent illusions in the vision of truth, in the depths of mortal minds."
Theme Song:
Limbonic Art - Towards the Oblivion of Dreams
Like a nomad,
in the subconscious realms
Of the beyond.
The night is old,
Yet I still seek peace.
Restless drifting,
The dark corridors
In the unknown chambers of the mind.
Where is the door, to the light of dreams.
Total isolation.
Land of desolation.
Dreamless sleeping.
Darkness reaping.
Deeper into the night I go.
Darker than ever are the pits below.
Sculptures in stone.
Dark protectors of sacred ground
Only the pure may enter,
Into the twilight zone.
With the underworld
Subconscious darkness I am allied
Deeper aspects, forces of nature,
Mind can now see the unseen.
Ancient land hidden from man.
An esoteric dream in the desert sand.
Shimmering sparks in the darkness.
As death overtakes the soul.
Loose the body, and earthly conscience.
The freedom of the spirit must be total.
Firewinds in shapeless forms.
Exploding light from new dimensions.
I am it, and it is me.
A phantom creature.
In supremacy.
in the subconscious realms
Of the beyond.
The night is old,
Yet I still seek peace.
Restless drifting,
The dark corridors
In the unknown chambers of the mind.
Where is the door, to the light of dreams.
Total isolation.
