Perfect Date: A night under the stars on a grassy knoll with books and wine. Just reading together, her head on his lap and their hands laced loosely on the picnic blanket. They don't have to talk, she just wants him to be there. Maybe he whispers sweet nothings in her ear and maybe they slow dance to no music in particular but she's happy around him and she can be herself.
Worst Date: A night at a karaoke club. Her date dances around too much and demands she does too. He jumps up and down to the music and lands on her foot. Cheap beer is passed around and people jostle her as they try to talk to each other from opposite sides of the room. He's not nesacarily a bad guy, it's just that he enjoys too many entertainment based things while she doesn't

Gaia threw her keys onto the kitchen counter as she slammed the creaky apartment door shut with her foot. She kicked off her scuffed sneakers and looped her scarf over the coat hook.
"Lola? You home yet?" Her voice rang out unnaturally loud in the empty apartment. Silence greeted her in reply and Gaia sighed as she headed towards her room and plopped down on the lumpy comforter. It was quite humid so she nudged the window over her bed open with her palm, relishing the cold night air that washed over her face. A buzz from her phone reminded her of the ongoing conversation she was holding with Mrs. Dawbridges, one of the senior advisors at the university stacks and one of Gaia's motherly figures. Through the cracked screen and dim light emitting from the out of date, clunked up device Gaia could faintly see the text:
>Mrs. D: Did you look at the brochure yet, darling? You've been alone for too long. Find the one <3
Oh dear Mrs. D who had printed out the TAP brochure in her office for Gaia to look at. True, it had been too long since she'd received any modicum of love and maybe she needed it but through
this? Gaia was more than a bit skeptical. Plus the cost of it all, she didn't have enough money to pay for it. There certainly was no point in even thinking about this whole thing unless she received some kind of weird funding to pay for it. Gaia shook her head. Whatever. It was fine if she didn't find someone, that she wouldn't get the romantic future she had dreamed of ever since she had dug up a box of Nicholas Sparks novels in the basement as a teen. It just wouldn't happen for her.
