Sam finished the banana and watched Jordan continue eating her with vigor. His honey eyes stared for a bit before they drifted to the remains of his food... It seemed like common courtesy to offer her something as well but not much left of his breakfast. The silent look lasted for a moment before he decided to make it up another time. After some more time passed and the beginning of the school announcements came, Jordan moved closer to the front for a better view while he sunk into his little cove behind the flowerbed. Sam thankfully was alone as he listened to Director Clavell's long speech. He was focusing on the words seriously. When he gave the final command: Go wherever you want, travel across Paldea, and find something to treasure; the students began to scatter or gather into groups.
The teen merely stood up and observe other students from his spot. Sam leans against the building and lets his mind wander. He didn't really know what to do about the whole treasure thing, he didn't really have much interest in Pokemon battling, researching, or looking for rare objects... like what he was picking up from the chatter of others. Maybe if he traveled aimless something would come to him... He had heard something about 10 sights of Paldea... that would at least be a start. Flinching at his name being unexpectedly shouted out from afar pulled out of his thoughts, he spotted Jordan waving from atop her Tropius with what he was positive was a huge grin. A bit hesitantly, he waved back at her. It didn't feel too abrasive since they met briefly, yet he didn't exactly know the girl too well to feel comfortable either.
Watching her full-on land a guy, he thought about going over to check on her... But as quite a group had gathered around her, he immediately decided against it. The guy Jordan fell seemed to cushion her fall nicely, and another person appeared to go over and check on her. So his intervention was definitely unnecessary... Sam also found being in crowds annoying and tiring... He let out a sigh, he need to do a little research if he wanted to travel to those sights.....
"Manly?" Sam called out as his eyes searched around the flowerbed for his Cutiefly partner. It took only a moment for him to know he was no longer fluttering around there. The boy increased it to a wider area around him but still no presence of the tiny pink bug. His stare turned toward the direction of Jordan... if knew Manly as well as he believed he did, he definitely went over there... Unfortunately, the Pokemon's minuscule stature made him hard to spot from a distance. "Ugh, dang bug..." Sam groaned mildly annoyed as he slowly made his way over.
Meanwhile, the shiny Cutiefly was flying around Jordan with an air of concern.
Just as he popped another donut into his mouth, a brunette materialize into view. The girl looking surprised to see him. His honey eyes snapped over to her as he gave her a stony stare. Normally, that was enough to make people back away, but not this girl. She greeted him, apologized, and invited him to join her exercise routine the moment they met. His watching eyes stayed the same as he slowly chewed and swallowed the food. Talkative and friendly, she was giving off outgoing vibes despite her claim of not being a morning person. Honestly, this girl reminded Sam of the people in Alola he bumped into daily. Those cheery types of people were tiring to be around, and he would rather be left alone.
Before Sam could voice such thoughts, his pink Cutiefly stopped dancing around the flowerbed to inspect the new arrivals. Manly started by flying circles around the fruits of the Tropius before fluttering in front of the girl. Staring for a moment, it let out a happy cry. It then preceded to fly laps around her head pausing occasionally to glance back at his trainer. This got an annoyed grunt from Sam as he watched the tiny Pokémon. However, despite the clear disapproval, he didn't look particularly furious at the Pokémon. A sigh escaped, and after taking sip from his silver thermos, the teen's honey-colored eyes shifted to the face of the girl.
"Alola..." Sam began with an Alolan-styled greeting with the accompanying waving-like hand motion. A habit he had gained from living in the Alola region for many years. His rigid and aloof delivery and expression did not match the typical Alola vibe. "Honestly, sounds bothersome," He bluntly admitted as he rubbed the back of his neck. "But I guess I'll give and play along this time." His eyes were definitely locked on his Pokémon when he added that and not the girl who invited him.
The teen then began to gather his remaining food, stored in some plastic storage containers. Not because he was done eating, but so that food wouldn't get soiled and the area was a little tidier. Sam pushed his things against the wall before getting to his feet, and the size difference between them was noticeable. The girl's head barely reached his shoulder it appeared. He crossed his arms as his line vision angled downwards.
"Name's Sam." He firmly and indifferently introduced himself, "That's Manly." With that short introduction out, he didn't say or do anything else. He just stood there and stared at the girl as he waited for a name or something.
Sam quietly sipped his coffee from his stainless steel thermos as he sat in the schoolyard at Papas Academy. He was stationed behind the flowerbed with his back against the school building. He hoped the tall blue flowering bushes would obscure him enough that people wouldn't notice him. The teen's bag and breakfast from the cafeteria were spread out beside him, and he was slowly making his way through some donut holes and a breakfast sandwich.
Sam had barely been in the region for a month before his enrollment into the school. His body hadn't yet adjusted to this new region, so he had been sleeping poorly. Thankfully a thickly applied layer of eyeliner hid any signs of his tiredness. The teen couldn't say he was incredibly thrilled being pushed into another of his parents' random whims, but Sam was starting to enjoy going to school. Some things he liked, some things he didn't. One of those dislikes were that he wanted to wear his gothic clothes rather than the school uniform. The silver chains, piercings, and pink heart hair clip he was wearing today were pretty much the most he could get away with wearing. Sam would be removing the uniform once he was off campus.
Sam could hear other students chatting and running around beyond his field of vision, but he didn't care much about that. Just breathing in the sweet scent of flowers, his golden eyes watched an enthusiastic pink speck zip around the flowerbed. The teen boy would have remained in his dorm room until class time if it wasn't for his Cutiefly, Manly. Seeing how happy the little pokémon was to be around flowers made the trip worth it. Taking another sip of his drink, Sam tried his best to ignore the presence of others and enjoy his time eating among the flowers.
Sam is a taller young teen- standing exactly six feet tall. His build is average with very little muscle definition, which causes his body to be softer looking. He has light skin that is very smooth and without blemishes. With a boyishly rounded face, he tends to look younger than his age. He keeps it cleanly shaved. Golden honey-colored eyes peer out from a sea of darkness created by his long bangs and black eyeliner. The eyeliner makes his eyes pop and draws attention to his indifferent gaze. It also hides the bags under Sam's eyes from the lack of sleep. Silky and straight black hair reaches down to the middle of Sam's back. There's a crimson streak of hair within the long bangs that hugs his left cheek. From the shine, even length, and lack of knots- Sam's hair is obviously well taken care of. It is often worn down with a variety of different hair clips pinned above his ear. A couple common hairclips are a skull and crossed bones and a pink heart-shaped ones. There are occasions when Sam pulls his hair into a high ponytail at the top of his head.
Sam has adopted a gothic style of clothing, so his clothes are mainly black, leather, and tight-fitting. He does often wear dark red accessories as an accent as well. A typical outfit he wears is a black long-sleeved fishnet top underneath a black skull shirt, leather pants with red belts wrapping around his thighs, and tall belted leather boots. Due to the school dress code, he doesn't get to wear his preferred outfits all the time but will still accessorize with black fingerless gloves, tons of silver chains and belts around his waist and neck, and a spiked collar choker. Sam has multiple piercings in his ears and a nose ring that are all silver in color. Whenever he needs to carry a bunch of items around, he wears a leather single-strap bag that's black and red.
Personality:
Sam gives off an insociable and tough first impression. Standing with his chest puffed out, arms crossed, and an unblinking glare- makes others think he is not one to mess with. That first instinct is not one to ignore. The teen absolutely refuses to sit down and push around by other people. He'll choose to leave the situation, most times, but there are times when he'll have some choice words. His words are blunt, sometimes cutting deeply without a care about how the other person may feel. He is often unsympathetic towards others' minor difficulties and complaints. Even when Sam isn't uncaring about something, he just depressingly states how harsh the situation is. He has a habit of judging others based on their first impression of him.
Generally, Sam is neither hostile nor friendly. He won't suddenly bite someone's head off, but he won't attempt to make conversation either. The teen will respond when addressed but will typically keep to himself. Sam tends to have more snippy and sarcastic remarks, when he becomes annoyed. Deliberately, he will say things to invoke irritation in the other person. There will also be moments where Sam will add unneeded impolite commentary. And there are the rarer moments when he is tolerant of others. Although he still seems indifferent, he'll start a conversation without being prompted. Offer to help or listen if it's nothing too troublesome. He comes off as a very quiet acquaintance who is pleasant to hang out with. It isn't a friendship with Sam, just him being willing to minorly deal with someone.
Sam is slow to fully warm up to others before putting them into the friend category. Rather than getting hurt by flighty friends, he simply doesn't make any. When deemed as a friend, Sam is an excellent one. No matter what is the problem, he willingly listens and even brainstorms ways to solve them. Troublesome things that he absolutely despises, he's willing to do for a friend. In friend groups, he is the leveled-headed, responsible one that always talks people out of doing stupid or reckless actions. Sam is truly a caring, loyal friend if one can breach his walls. The teen is generally not interested in love. Since his trust is a lengthy process to gain, most crushes on him don't last. Sam has never had that level of trust to be completely vulnerable to anyone other than family. That's not to say he doesn't find people cute or attractive. But his feelings haven't yet developed beyond that. Sam shows disinterest when directly flirted with.
Sam is a pessimist that hardly ever sees a good outcome. Thus he never set his expectations too high and is not affected when things go wrong. Calm and collected in the direst situations, this helps him think and maybe find a solution. When others try to force their optimistic views on him, he finds it annoying. Which causes him to ignore it altogether or find flaws that could cause it to turn out badly. He doesn't dislike positive thinking; he just doesn't like to be told how to feel. Sam hates pretty much anything that tries to change him into something he's not.
Sam likes to be by himself and just let his thoughts wander. While he cherishes his alone time, he tends to have fun whenever he hangs out with others. It's just that he gets worn out pretty fast being around a bunch of happy and hyper people. He absolutely loves flowers, cute things, and sweets- and he is not embarrassed to admit it. At the same time, he also really likes- gothic clothing, piercings, and chains, even though it create a bad image. Either way, Sam just stays true to himself- loving and doing whatever he wants without being restrained by other opinions.
Backstory:
Floaroma Town, Sinnoh, is where Samuel was born. His parents were a carefree and lively couple who rarely considered the consequences of their actions. Despite their boisterous and cheery attitude, then son grew up as a quiet and serious kid that could take him of himself. His personality never brought any worries to his parents as he was a well-behaved even if wasn't very talkative. Unfortunately, kids his age saw him as eerily silent and unsociable, so Sam had no friends in his small hometown. He spent most of his free time sitting and taking in the sweet scent of flowers in the meadow north of the town. He had just turned seven when his parents' work moved them to Goldenrod City in Johto.
Sam was also unpopular with his peers in this new city. Being used to having no friends, he was indifferent toward the treatment. When he started to get a taste for black and darker shades of gothic clothing, adults also began to think he was up to no good. What was unexpected was despite the many rumors about him being a troublemaker, a boy named Marquel began to approach Sam in a friendly manner. Having zero experience with kids his age being nice to him, the boy took a more defensive stance toward him. But even that didn't deter the stubborn boy. Although after their random meeting while he was visiting the local flower shop, the fact Marquel didn't find anything odd with it caused Sam warm up to him. Even though it seems one-sided on Marquel's side to others, to Sam, he was best friend. However, his parents were transferred to another region after only a little over two years. It hurt Sam a lot to leave behind the only friend he had ever made, but promised that no matter what they'll always be best friends.
His parents were transferred two times before settling in Hau'oli City-Alola as their new home. The moving from place to place really jaded him to forming connections with others, since he could move at anytime and be forced to leave them behind. Even though Sam's gothic aesthetic taste in clothing clashed with the colorful Alola atomsphere, people here were actually quite friendly regardless. However, their overwhelming friendliness and generosity rubbed him the wrong way. It reminded him too much of Marquel, which still hurt a lot to separate from. So Sam found himself not getting close to anyone. Probably due to the birth of his twin brother and sister, his parents job stayed in Alola for longer than usual.
Sam was around twelve at the time and would often venture out unsupervised into pokémon-infected areas without having a pokémon of his own. It wasn't that he didn't want a pokémon, just the pokémon selected for him didn't choose him back. Though he brushed it off it was actually a pretty big blow that not even pokémon wanted to be near him. He eventually found his favorite place on the island, Melemele Meadow. He would just sit there and take in the sweet scent of the yellow flowers. It reminded him of his hometown and Goldenrod city's flower shop, so it was relaxing. He would spend hours sitting there- from early morning to nightfall. It wasn't uncommon for a group of Cutiefly to flutter over him. One particular Cutiefly would always fly really close to him. He stood out from the group because the pokemon was a spot of pink upon the sea of yellow. After this happened so many times, it eventually just started perching on his head and going home with him.
Manly the Cutiefly became his pokémon. With the tiny fairy bug by his side, his hardened exterior softened up. His defenses were still up, but it became more common to see his kinder side. With his more girlish liking of cute things, he would brighten up with his cute little pokémon of his. Most likely due to his Cutiefly's presence, teens his age began to approach and talk with him more. While he never truly bonded with another human in Alola, he could have conversations and had minor acquaintances. So much so, he was even a little sad leaving them when his family moved to the Paldea.
Sam expected just another stop where he would occasionally meet kids around his neighborhood before having to move again. But this time, he found himself being enrolled in the Papas Academy where he would live in the dorms. He wasn't very excited about it, but he's finding some of his classes entertaining. Sam is trying his best not to get his hopes too high.

Sonny was quite distracted and did not notice much as he when from dangling from the chandelier to preaching on a banister to in front of the food table again. There were only a couple of pastries left on him after his many sporadic movements around the ballroom. The fire fairy didn't find any clues not that he even knew what he should be looking for. The weird pink drink looked interesting... The redhead grabbed a cup and chugged it down... It had a very fruity and sugary taste. It was then he finally realize more fairies had arrived and dropped whatever remaining pastries on the ground in front of him as he approached the new group. There seem to be a discussion about something going on that he didn't pick up much of anything except the mention of going to Lumina. Filled with much-unbridled excitement about traveling to somewhere new, he failed to pick up the reason why they were going there. Sonny assumed it was a clue that was found about this whole petrification business, while he was searching for some himself.
As the fairy Sky left for a moment, the redhead fairy remember that Summa would still be looking for him. He needed to leave a message so she wouldn't worry too much. Not having anything to write with he used fire magic just outside the castle's door to singe the message: Going on an important quest Summa, catch up with ya later~ Sonny; onto the ground. After writing that thoughtful message without regard to the difficulty it would be to clean up the scorch marks later, he joined the other..... six fairies in a fairy unicorn-driven carriage.
---------
Lumina Forest
It was a pretty entertaining ride to the Lumina place, with the abrupt jolting and jerking the vehicle did. He spent much of the trip half hanging out of the carriage feeling the wind against his freckled cheeks and taking in the more colorful surroundings. It was great not having someone tell him, 'sit still in your seat' or 'you'll fall out of the carriage.' He did almost fall out a couple of times when there were some sharp turns but he didn't so point him. With a final hard bump to the ground in front of a giant tree, they arrived at their destination.
"Good job mateys," Sonny threw up a thumbs up to the Sky and the navigator who got them to Lumina. There were a few new scrapes and tousled hair from the rocky ride, but he seemed unconcerned about that. After expressing his gratitude, the fire fairy exited the carriage with much enthusiasm, there was a lot more vegetation to see than when he visited the Fey Topics. His yellow eyes scoped around the area for a moment before shooting up to attempt the take in the view of the tree. His fiery wings fluttered with excitement. "So we goin' ta scale this behemoth?"
Shortly after arriving, Sonny's hand was kissed by some blond fairy guy. It was kind of weird. But he wasn't one to judge weird people’s actions. The guy began to go on some kind of spiel first introducing himself as something Sky, and that people were turned into stone including… Sonny's attention was suddenly attracted to some untouched very delicious-looking pastries… His yellow eyes locked onto them… so sweet smelling and in perfect stacks. In the middle of the explanation that he was totally still listening to, he was gathering the food in his arms and stuffed various sweets in his mouth. The fire fairy tune fully back in right in time to hear something about an attack on the Fairy Festival. That got draw him back into the conversation.
“Mmmph thmmpg flmmpf ph mmplk!” Sonny blurted out incoherently with a full mouth. He finished chewing and swallowing a little bit of pink cream at the edge of his lips. Before he could repeat his statement, the girl asked a persuading question that stop him from repeating what he said before. Having multiple times of being accused of things he didn't do, Sonny understood it wasn't good to jump to conclusions. "The lass gots a point. Ye need proof before causin’ a mutiny… there might something around to prove the… the….. the one’s responsible treachery."
With that said he twirled around to examine the ballroom area. Still tons of statues of once fairies, delicious pastries, melting ice chuck... Maybe a new perspective would help him find something. With much vigor, Sonny began zipping around examining the floors, walls, and ceiling. With his sudden stop-and-go movement, he would drop some of the pastries he was still cradling in his arms. Eventually, he settled upon the sparkling chandelier of pink crystals that was mounted on the ceiling. Sonny dropped several more sweets as he pressed his hand on his forehead to give the area another scan. More arrivals, appear, and… did she say something about a prince?
The sounds of festivities are all around- fairies happily chattering, vendors hollering trying to catch the attention of passers, and sparkle-shooting noisemakers going off here and there. Glitter and bright colors are on every inch of the cloudy pink streets. There is also the sweet scent of pastries wafting down the colorfully well-decorated roads. There is so much going on and to see, that would make anyone excited. Especially someone like Sonny who isn't used to such colorful and lively events. He begins to flutter over to a particular vendor that seems to be selling some very intriguing-looking objects. He didn't get far before his wrist is grabbed and he is yanked back to the center of the street.
"No wandering off," A sharp voice of a woman demands as her grip tightens. With a click of his tongue, the fire fairy's annoyed yellow eyes turn to his 'escort'. An older-looking female fire fairy in a lovely violet dress stared blankly back. She seems uncaring of the attitude thrown at her, if not mildly irritated. "Don't need you causing trouble before we reach the castle." She states in a matter-of-fact tone that edge on mild aggravation. With her other hand, she pushes up her square glasses.
"Summa, I ain't no young babe, ye don't need to babysit me," Sonny replies in a deep, gravelly tone. The older fairy is a servant and his tutor from the Pompfey palace, and she is often assigned to watch over him when he goes out since she was the best at dealing with him. Summa merely lets out an exasperated sigh as she stiffly continues to tug Sonny behind her through the festival. Her sapphire blue eyes stared at the sky for a moment. The light tan-skinned fairy appeared done with dealing with him. Her uncaring eyes glance back at him.
"Would stop talking like that, sir, you're not a pirate. Fire Fairies don't do well with water." Summa softly rebukes him as she continues to guide him through the crowd. "And if someone didn't stop you, would have come here wearing tatter clothes..." Sonny's current outfit is a pristine white vest with gold and black slacks which he didn't like to wear personally because of how stiff and tight the fabric is on him. It makes moving around hindering. While the flower crown is a tad girly, Sonny is actually of kind digging it. The only things in his attire he chose is the eyepatch that had a flame design on it and an orange scarf. "So yes, you do need a babysitter. Once we reach the palace you'll be free to explore to your heart's content."
"Bah... boring," he slips out of his deep grumbling tone to moan about this treatment. He is an adult now, he should have more freedom than this. His eye catches booth of interest and he resists Summa's forceful pulling. "Ice cream booth, we should dock and plunder a scoop." This did make Summa pause. Her head turns and stops dead on the pink and yellow color booth with a couple of water and ice fairies inside. Ice cream is quite a rare find in Pompfey so much so that it sells out almost immediately when sold there.
"I... guess it won't hurt to get some." The older woman easily gives in. She quite liked ice cream and it has been a while since she had the pleasure to eat it. The two found themselves waiting in the short line examining the flavors from afar. Because Sonny's attention is focused on getting some ice cream, Summa lets go of him as she reaches to get some money. They are next up in line when she had procures some. Summa turns to ask what he wanted only to find he is nowhere to be found. She exhales deeply as the peppy water fairy asks what she wanted. "Give me a triple scoop."
Sonny, meanwhile, is chasing after a rogue purple star-shaped balloon up above the streets. He catches it with a satisfying smirk before something lights up in the sky that draws his attention. A message in light that spells out 'HELP'. Without any other context, the redheaded fairy zooms off toward the source of the message, letting the balloon continue floating on. Sonny finds himself at the palace of Feydellia. The front gate is opened, and a fairy is looking rather panicked outside. He lands nearby poised in a fighting stance. His eye snaps over the incredibly pale, dark blue hair lady.
"Ahoy Lass, what be brewin'?" Sonny questions her as he scans the area. He eventually notices the ballroom that is completely lifeless and filled with tons of statues. Out curiosity moves closer to examine it further, it is completely silent in contrast to the busy streets. There is no movement, there is a tower of melting ice... and a couple of those statues look a lot like his cousins. Sonny enters the ballroom to take a closer look. These are a perfect recreation of them. He circles them and spots the little exact details the statues have, his brain not registering exactly what has happened.
Magic: Fire magic, he can conjure it from his body and make it take the form of objects and animals. He can even make it take the shape of another fairy. It is obviously a mass of fire but he can make them move around like they are normal creatures. He can make normal fireballs and such too, though he rarely does so. He is unable to use his magic if he is wet.
Appearance: Sonny is an average height fairy with a slender yet well-toned body. His skin tone is a dark chocolate brown color. Other than some bold black freckles on his cheeks, his skin is without any major scarring and blemishes. Fiery orange hair with yellow tips is neatly cut mid-neck and the bangs are swept to the left. Sonny's hair is tidy and straight without a single strand out of place. It naturally ends up like that despite the minimal care he does for it. A bright yellow eye peers strongly out from below the orange hair which gives him an assertive image. As for his wings, they have the shape of the common yellow swallowtail butterfly except the edges are a little more wavy giving it a fiery look. The part of the wings close to his back is solid black and lightens up to an orange color before turning yellow at the edges.
All Sonny really wears these days is an off-color white lace-up top, tan knee-length shorts, an orange scarf, a dark orange sash, and a pair of black knee-high boots. The sleeve hole and bottom of the shorts are frayed from being amateurishly cut giving them a torn look. Everything else about the outfit is in excellent condition as proof it hasn't really been worn much. An eye patch covers Sonny's left eye and it is black with a flame design on it.
For the party, though Sonny has been 'encouraged' to wear a pristine button-down vest that is white with gold borders, long black slacks, and spotlessly clean black dress shoes. The fire fairy also was given a crown of orange flowers to make him more presentable. He is still wearing the scarf which adds some color to the attire and his eyepatch.
Personality: To put it frankly, Sonny is eccentric to the point that after meeting a pirate he decided to give himself a pirate name and be one. He is quite compulsive and willing to jump on anything that sounds interesting. He is one to do unconventional and inconvenient activities just for the fun of it. Many find his actions idiotic and reckless, seeing him as nothing more than a troublemaker. It doesn’t help that people nearby get dragged into his nonsense. These negative opinions of him rarely even get registered in his brain and he just continues doing whatever pops into his brain. This is mostly contributed by having an awful attention span that results in him getting very easily distracted. Sonny also has a terrible habit of half-listening to people which causes much trouble and misunderstandings. While not a bad person, Sonny doesn't even factor in how his careless actions affect others. So many of his wild actions more times than not just causes problems for everyone involved.
Because is his admiration of pirates, Sonny has been taking a pirate guise. He dresses similar to them, and talks in a pirate accent. He has even given himself the name Captain Aldridge. There is not must difference between his pirate persona and his usual self. Though his tendency to drag in others is on purpose as he attempts to be a leader.
History: Sonset was born in Pompfey like most fire fairies. He is actually a part of the royal family though he is just the 2nd cousin to the future heir with dozens of older fairies in higher lineage. So there is little chance he would ever inherit the throne, which is fine by him. His childhood to teen years was spent in the fire fairies of Pompfey territory. He found life in the barren wastelands they call home plain boring, but living in the royal family castle was even more unbearable. So often, he would sneak out to play near the lava pools of the active volcano they lived near or at the edge of town where he played around with his magic. Many times his hunt for something exciting to do has almost resulted in terrible accidents or injuries. Luckily nothing serious ever occurred from his reckless behavior.
Right around when he reached the age to be considered and young adult, he finally got to leave Pompfey. Sonny was excited to see something other than endless sand and a few stray cacti. The Fey Tropics still had sand but it seem different as it sat at the border of the large body of water. There was so much green and water, that Sonny couldn't help but get distracted and separated from the rest of his family. It didn't take long for him to be hopelessly lost without really knowing where he should be going. Then a strong windstorm passed through and he got blown away from the city.
As fate would have it he met with a water fairy named Neptune that called himself a pirate. He was a combination of strong, cool, and kind, and it made Sonny look up to him. After half a day of traveling, he was brought back to The Fey Tropics and his family. Sonny had a new love of pirates to much dismay of his family.
Other: - His full pirate name is Captain Aldridge Rowley. - The eyepatch he wears is cosmetic and both of his eyes are perfectly fine. - Sonny oddly likes water despite the negative effects it has on him.
