Gauging interest in a remake of a thread I've done off and on for about 9 years. Feel free to ask questions.

The tl;dr is it is a creature capture (like Pokemon) with elements of magic that takes place in a modern to slightly futuristic setting. Players take on the role of trainers who go on a journey that mimics an ancient tale from their land from thousands of years ago. We have our own creatures (over 100), moves, and magic.

The thread will take place a few years after a political war between the two halves of Atren. These trainers will be the first to go out on their Rites in many years, which is a journey that mirrors the path that the two summoners of ancient legends took to each of the temples in Atren. The journey is significant because this journey saved humankind and laid the foundation for the progress of much of the world.

I will only be allowing around 10 players this time due to the difficulty of managing dice for a large number of players (dice determine wild encounters and library rewards, as well as a few other things). If you are interested, please make sure you stay committed to the thread as other players may be turned away.

You can find starting creatures here (yes this does link off site to our database site).

Shio was confident in her ability to be patient in this battle, which would only serve to increase the effectiveness of the duo in combat. Upon seeing the creation of the Blizzard, Shio quickly began to move towards the center line of the battlefield (still towards the back of the Arena). Hitsuji would raise up an Earthen pillar in the dead center of the Arena to use as a way for the two of them to gain positioning advantages. It would be unleashed in time to cut off the Nightfall Shadow's initial path, but the the two globes of light that were positioned about 15 feet behind the pillar, about 6 feet off the ground, and with 6 feet between the two spheres were probably the larger threats. Each of these spheres would begin to have minuscule specks of light appear around them.

Shio was going to augment her overall control of the field. By invoking the power of Phytomancy, she placed a seed within her own skin with the magic. It consumed a part of the natural energy that her magic drew upon, but it would provide a reward to her later on in the battle. The more seeds she would sow, the more powerful she would become, to the point she was confident she could pose a threat to Kiyo.

Hitsuji would remain similar in position to Shio, travelling on a similar path towards the center line of the Arena.

[Note: Hitsuji's Unyielding zone is the entire arena. Also miscounted Sowing Seeds by forgetting Rank VII Phytomancy.]

Fair point. Though in that case, perhaps it would be possible/appropriate to modify the laws of physics to conjoin with magic...such as
F = (MA)(magic)? After all, magic routinely generates more energy/obtains more energy than it could possibly obtain via conventional means, why not use that energy to generate force, the same as telekinesis or other techniques? Also, that enchantment isn't actually meant to deal more damage for the most part...while it can, I intend to be using it as a defensive parry technique.

The specificity of how is important because people need to know if you are bending or breaking the rules of physics so they know how abilities will interact. It also makes it harder on us judges when we aren't certain what you are intending to do exactly.

Telekinesis would in most instances be considered a manipulation of the force equation in my mind. I wouldn't classify magic as a separate element of it.

Sidenote: I like having at least somewhat scientific explanations for how something is being done for sake of ease. :)

could you post Rin in CS tab please

Yes, I just didn't want to do so until I had permission. :)
Rin did not find his presence in the area worth pondering. He was here and clearly for a purpose.

He did not partake in the offerings, like some of the others had, but merely stood off to the side against a wall in a meditative position. Rin was not the most approachable of individuals, a trait he'd had since youth. Serious to the point it was off putting for some, it was a surprise to many that Rin was actually engaged. While still young, the engagement wasn't a surprise to most, given the seriousness of both parties involved. He'd behaved as an adult in many aspects since the age of four, focusing on developing his place in the world and trying to make an impact within it. This is what he found fascinating, rather than the childish whims some of his siblings had indulged in. While they played, Rin began to develop himself as a person. It was why Kisaki, his twin, had the best relationship with him. She was equally serious.

Rin focused on not dwelling on the fact Roku, his fiance, was not with him. The two rarely separated, both working together closely for years as enforcers for their village. In many aspects, Roku was probably a stronger fighter than he was. She had far more physical strength than he did, which seemed like it could play an important role in this competition given the rather imposing size of some of the other combatants. However, Rin had fought against larger, including his father who was even more imposing in terms of size than any of the others here. Of course, that was only in size, as the boisterous nature of his father and constantly friendly demeanor quickly eliminated any fear he could have exploited.

For now Rin would wait until the first round was announced. That was what mattered. The rest was just a formality.
Poketh.
Chiyoko ensured at least one would be fatal, once he had managed to muster this much of a defense. As he began to pull out blades from his body, she quickly twisted the remaining there were inside of him with a flick of her finger. It'd cause an exceptional amount of pain, as well as hinder any chance he may have to make an assault back on her. She made sure to target the ones in his legs to make any defense weaker.

She hated causing pain like this, but she had a sense about Akine that made her believe that if she did not take this person seriously, she would risk not only the lives of herself, Hitsujik, and Tokiko, but others as well. It was time for Akine to be judged eternally.

She also wouldn't make it easy for him to just throw the blades out. Each of the tanto were bound with her strings. Without the strings being cut, she could quickly fling the blades back up at him as he threw them away, making Akine's life even more difficult. Still, Chiyokos other blades and rings that had missed their mark were free to circle back, two of the rings moving to make a complete circle - cylinders at this point - around Akine while the remaining would target from multiple directions along with the tanto she had missed with. She suspected that even with his spirits he would have a difficult time continuing to defend against her omnidirectional assault.

As a further precaution, Chiyoko began to preform a series of handsigns as she maintained her distance between herself and Akine. Hitsujiki remained next to her, having gathered a significant sum of energy at this point. Tokiko remained safe on the sheeps back.
I would be interested in the last slot. I will use the below bio, but please give me a moment to modify.

EDIT: This should cover the jist. Anything that needs increased specificity, please let me know.

@Innue Yeah, life does happen. Life is terrible, circumstance is random and bad shit happens to good people. The world doesn't like anyone, and we all have to live with that.

If I were a worse person I would continue, but I get that life is shitty. And I'm not in the mood to be a bad person today.

Just get that Life is shitty, but don't turn life into passive or direct aggression towards someone who disagrees with you.

Thank you.

And it isn't aggression, but it is just a polite reminder that especially after last week that I'd appreciate you tread lightly with the subject.
