Iraeviel and Meristophene walked through the gates to the mine, nearby workers and guards turned their heads towards the newcomers. Meris glanced around at the unsettling stares and placed a hand on her sword while Iraeviel ignored them and walked forward towards one of the more authoritative figures. The guard met her gaze and looked down at the ledger in Iraeviel's hand, "Ma'am this is an area off-limits for civilians," He stated even though she was obviously wearing full body armor, "Either state your business or leave."

She held the book out to him, "Is this familiar to you?". He looked down at the book warily before taking it from her outstretched hand. He looked up at her with furrowed brows "Where did you get this? This belongs to the Armanian kingdom!". At this point other guards had gathered around the two strangers and out their hands on their weapons. Meris spoke up as they advanced and stood at Iraeviel's side, "Please wait! We found this inside of a wrecked caravan! We did not take anything form the wreck except for this book, everything else was missing when we found it." Neither Iraeviel or Meris removed their gaze from the guard's, slowly he looked around and took his hand off of his sword and the other guards followed suit.

"I'm Captain Falden, I am in charge of the defenses of this mine. And your names are...?"
"Iraeviel." She gestured to herself and then Meris, "And this is Meristophene, we only came here to tell you what happened to the caravan. We know that orcs attacked it and stole the ore," She continued, "we followed their tracks to their camp and saw crates of ore being stacked. None of the guards with the caravan survived. Sorry." She shrugged her shoulders slightly.
Falden raised his hand to his brow "Looks like a war is being started. Thank you both for bring us the news of the attack. We'll have to tighten security here."
They had been walking for what seemed like hours and the sun had gone down quite a bit. The mountain trails leading to the mine had been a bigger challenge than what they thought it would be. Not once did they encounter any living thing, save for several birds and a scrawny rabbit that darted past them. Though the entire area seemed to be devoid of human life, they didn't dare to fly over their obstacles.
Idly, Meris began to pluck the strings on her harp before unconsciously settling into a tune familiar to both of them and Iraeviel hummed along to the tune, the addition of music wasn't much but it helped the mountains not seem so desolate.

The sky was orange when they arrived at the gate to the mines. They stood before it and braced themselves for anything unexpected, taking the lead, Iraeviel opened the gates,
"How much farther do you think this trail goes?" They had been walking for a while and the sun had moved quite a bit, they hadn't seen any other people so far. Iraeviel shrugged at Meristophene's question but stopped short, she could hear talking ahead. Meris heard it as well and went ahead, keeping low in the bushes while Iraeviel stayed behind. It wasn't much further until Meris saw the beginnings of a large camp of non-humans, orcs and trolls stacking crates of what she assumed were the missing supplies.

"I think I found the missing supplies, I'm not sure how many orcs are here though." She telepathically relayed the information to Iraeviel as she headed back to her hiding spot. On arriving there, she noticed Iraeviel had drawn her sword and readied herself to fight. "No 'Rae! We don't know what they're capable of! We should go back to the caravan. C'mon." Meris grabbed Iraeviel by the hand and began to walk quickly in the opposite direction of the camp, back the way they came.

Iraeviel stopped short however and pulled her hand out of Meristophene's grip. "What of the supplies though!? We could be leagues from civilization with no food or water to get us through the distance!" she gestured back in the direction of the non-human's camp with her sword. "Well, I'll carry us the distance back to the caravan and follow the road back to where it came from, there's sure to be people there." "We still don't know how far away we are, the place where the shipment came from could be any distance away from the wreck."
"We can search for it in the air, come on, or I'll carry you in my claws!" Meris retorted. "Fine, you win." Begrudgingly, she followed Meristophene to a clearing they passed by earlier.

When they reached the clearing, Meristophene transformed into her dragon self and urged Iraeviel to get on so they could reach the caravan before the sun went down. Iraeviel seated herself in her usual position and Meristophene took off speeding back to the location of the caravan, keeping herself as low as possible to the treeline and using her wind magic to guide her further and faster without the need to beat her wings. It wasn't long before they reached their original position, once there Meristophene shot up vertically in the air and scouted their surroundings. She spotted what appeared to be a mine several miles away, she lowered herself back down to the ground and transformed back into a human and hoped no one had seen her as a dragon. They began the trek to the mine and hopefully a town.
"Again?" They both thought as they plummeted through the cosmos. Iraeviel and Meristophene barely had enough time to rest before they were, yet again, thrown for a loop.
When the blurring stopped they found themselves by a wrecked caravan, corpses were strewn around the area. The pair glanced at each other and Meristophene transformed into her human self, much less menacing than a huge dragon. They did not know how the inhabitants of this place would react to a dragon and it is after all, better to be safe than sorry.

While Iraeviel searched the caravan for a clue as to where they were, Meristophene examined the tracks leading to and from the wreckage.
"Hey, Meris. You should come see this." Iraeviel found a ledger describing the missing contents and their destination. "The Armanian Union? Well, we're definitely not on Midgard anymore."

Meristophene nodded her agreement and went back to searching the tracks for clues, they appeared to go off into the wilderness. "Do you think we should follow these, Irae? It could be worth getting some supplies, we don't know where we are or how far away we are from a town." Iraeviel jumped down from one of the wagons and stood next to Meristophene, at another glance they agreed and began walking in the direction of their quarry.

Name: Iraeviel
Age: Appears 25
Race: Half-Dragon
Side: Armanian Union
Appearance: Female. 5”10’ in height, medium build – muscular, light blue hair (lighter than shown), green eyes. (I can't be arsed to draw them myselves, so I used a doll maker. PM me if you want the links).

Personality: Extremely passive and reserved until put into a battle of any kind (mental, physical), where she won’t stop until her attention is caught by something else. Does not tolerate beating around the bush in conversation and can be very blunt at times. Her loyalty is gained and friendship made when you fight alongside her in battle. Hates the undead but is otherwise tolerant of all races that show some degree of civilization and honor that happen to not oppose her. Sometimes rushes her choices and Meristophene has to mediate her conscience into carefully choosing a decision. Hates indecisive people and being indecisive herself.

Backstory:
She lived in a village hidden in a forest. She had a husband, two children and everything she could want in her simple village life. One day as she was inside of her home reading a book, there was a thunderous crash followed by screaming. She went outside to investigate, she told her children to stay inside and to keep playing with their toys. Upon exiting her home, a gruesome sight lay before her.
Villagers were being slain and torn apart everywhere she looked, her friends were nothing more than body parts strewn across the now unrecognizable village square. The ones responsible for this gory scene looked like giant, stone infa-.
A loud crash, blood, and she couldn’t feel her legs anymore. Her home had been pulverized by one of the creatures that landed on it. Dazed, she looked down and saw a bloody plank of wood protruding through her abdomen. A flash of light, roaring and

Silence. Darkness.

When she opened her eyes again she was in a strange new place, upon asking about her whereabouts, a silver and blue dragon explained to her what happened. When the realization about happened hit her, she screamed.
Years later, she has devoted herself to hunting false Gods and protecting the world’s seals from harm.

Weapon: One-handed sword that can also be used as a two-handed sword and a shield.

Magics: Can weave weak elemental spells into her sword and can teleport (blink) very short distances (never more than 8-10 feet).

Other: The dragon side is going to be severely nerfed. She will never appear in front of people as she normally would with wings and whatnot, only as a human with light blue hair and above average fighting capabilities (unless for some super-duper climactic story reason, but whatever). Both characters can travel through time and space –unwillingly, however- and get stuck in situations and worlds where they help the inhabitants until they get thrown across the cosmos again to a new place. (Explanation for their being in this roleplay).

Strength: In a pact with Meristophene – gains telepathy to her only. Singing, playing the piano, is surprisingly good with children.

Weakness: Being separated from Meristophene, - reason for being a half-dragon. Being distracted during battle, she’s a horrible multitasker. Impatient. Also cats and chocolate.

Name: Meristophene
Age: Appears 22
Race: Dragon
Side: Armanian Union
Appearance: Female. 5”2’ in height, light build, light blonde hair, gold eyes.

Personality: Much more friendly than Iraeviel at the first meeting and usually quite happy, fights with as much focus as Iraeviel. Can be quite snarky at times and a little sarcastic but never means it – enjoys jokes. Meristophene sometimes acts as Iraeviel’s conscience and advisor because of her calm and patient nature.

Backstory:
She chose to fight for humans, an odd occupation for dragons, but not for her. She was compassionate towards them and felt that they deserved a chance to live. She was flying over a forest with her comrades when she saw Them tearing apart a village and its inhabitants. With a roar of anger, she swooped down upon the scene and crushed one of Their heads between her massive jaws. Her companions followed suit and destroyed the false Gods in the village, though they created dragons, They treated them as Their servants.

While her companions finished off what was left of the creatures, she noticed an unconscious woman hidden under the wreckage of a building. She urgently used her snout and wings to remove the rubble and rescue her, the woman was in bad shape, impaled on a piece of wood that appeared to have come from the building she was in. Calling for help, her friends rushed around her, one of them suggested a pact with the human. There was little time to decide, and she quickly agreed. She nudged her thoughts into the mind of the dying woman and beseeched her to agree to a pact in order to survive. Barely coherent and on the brink of death, she agreed.

She brought her new pact-partner to her base where she rested between hunts so that the woman could recuperate and get used to her new body. Tattoos spiraled across her body as it healed and ejected the wood. Her legs and feet grew scales and claws, she gained wings and horns and her eyes now glowed green. The woman eventually woke up extremely disoriented. Dreading the conversation, Meristophene told her partner of what had transpired at the village. She screamed and cried.
It was weeks before she was willing to move, months before she gained mastery of her new body, and years before she became proficient in combat on both land and air.

With Iraeviel fully healed and accepting of her new fate, the pair traveled across the world to shut down any hint or whisper that Gods may have interfered on earth.

Weapon: Short sword and magic. Dislikes using the short sword as it increases the chance of blood getting on her clothes.

Magics: Wind and arcane magic. Cannot breathe fire, instead firing energy at her foes. The wind magic is only for extra leverage in the air when flying - increased agility.

Other: Also nerfed. She will never fight as a dragon, only uses her true dragon self to quickly get herself and Iraeviel from one place to another, (also see parentheses in Iraeviel’s “Other”.)

Strength: In a pact with Iraeviel, useful for forming strategies in battle or deciding on what to make for dinner. Despite being a dragon all her life until she met Iraeviel, she is actually a very good cook. Playing the harp and singing, sometimes duets with Iraeviel.

Weakness: Being separated from Iraeviel - reason she can take on a human form. Melee characters, she’s so concentrated on dodging blows that she can’t cast spells. Cloudy skies, loves flying through clouds because of the water droplets coalescing on her scales and making her look like a moving rainbow – gets depressed and wistful when she can’t. Loves clothes.
