It appeared in Dragon Riders of Malm first. Right in the starter town, just where your character lands on its dragon for the first time. Before they gained 'control' of the situation, new players were being sucked down into the entrance of the data-eating dungeon. It was merely a black square. Fine and without detail, but it had this sense of gravity that made you want to touch it. They said it couldn't have been much higher than your head and about as wide. More like a featureless, black outhouse or a large void stone. Everyone of Dragon Riders of Malm thought it was an event. Malm was known for having forceful events. And since contact with the brick resulted in teleportation to a dungeon which proved to be impassible very quickly, it drew more and more people. Then people started dying. Or worse; falling into comas. The GM's of Malm were able to move the starting location for the game. The player deaths and real deaths slowed considerably. But there was no clear way of stopping this data eating thing. Dragon Riders of Malm was the first to fall. It was as if all data regarding the game was gone. It couldn't be accessed from outside servers. Characters within the game during its disappearance reported their immersive devices, such as NerveGear and the new MindPortal, simply shut off. When they tried to log back in, they were transported to another game; Pale Forests Awakened. And just like Dragon Riders of Malm, Pale Forests Awakened befell the same fate. Two more entire worlds have been destroyed since then; Magiqua, a mages-only game and FloraxFuana, an MMO where characters take the shapes of various animals and plants. Webs of the strange data-eating monsters permeate throughout several worlds. Though death by one of these data-eaters is not imminent death, it is still risky. Few characters risk fighting them and those that do, they almost always return with data corruption. The tower has been missing ever since the death of Flora&Fauna, which reported over one-hundred fifty deaths. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Der Monde; Fileds of l'Ahntia Isaac, better known as Palanayukei in this world, stood on top of a large hill. Violet mountains cascaded behind him and red grass glittered across the vast fields below. Wylia, or his Wind Nymph, sat on his shoulder, a green aura emitted from her body as the sun dipped below the horizon. Far off in the distance, data-eaters, or DE's as he called them, roamed over a hill. The data-eating tower has yet to be seen since the death of Flora&Fauna and many fear that it may be in one of the larger games as Der Monde, Blood Moons, or even Sword Art Online. The search has been on for several months. Palanayukei headed down the hill, watching his map closely as he encroached on the DE's to ensure nothing attacked him from the flank. Golden words appeared across his visor "Der Monde; Fields of l'Ahntia" it read. The starter area for many Der Monde players. There's no better place to destroy these things than in the starter areas, he was trying to rationalize the risk he was about to take again. Closer to the beasts now, he hid behind one of the bulbous trees dotted along the field, he drew two crystal wands. One black as night, the other radiated white light. "Beim ehren meida, Beim ehren meidi," I wish one, I wish two "gonn deim Ehrt" from the earth. "Alu ehren foia" And one from flame. Two large stony golemns grew out of the ground. Grass donned on their forearms and shoulders. Out of the air, a small child made entirely of flame appeared. He showered each of them with another spell Thu Eyla, for protection. Though the Data Eaters dideat data, they fell just as any other monster did, with a few hard knocks. "God, I shouldn't do this," he mumbled to himself as he rounded the tree and his three summons headed for the closest data eater. . . |Next person should help me kill the Data Eater/DE to help get the story rolling! ;) |
I posted in the characters tab for your review whenever you're ready.
Heyy, for your character's game of origin, can you please write a CS for King of Rumble? Just a little bit about what makes it unique (e.g., all fist-fighter characters) etc. And as for the stats, they don't need to have actual numbers just the fact that they use a certain archetype, but you can leave them as they are. And a brief history about your in-game character is needed too. All in all, I like the character!
Sorry for the hiatus too guys! I'm on a new work shift entirely and I've been going through lots of other changes. @BrodZ11711, that was totally uncalled for. Period. People come and go in RP's all the time. You're more than welcome to join, but this is my RP and I would never bully you on your thread. You will be reported for both this post and the PM you sent me. Now that that's out of the way! I'm a pretty leisure RPer, so please don't expect this RP to take up all of your time. We'll start a few months after the virus takes over. Also, as a future note, this RP will probably always be accepting new characters, so joining is encouraged.
All the character sheets have been added to the IC! Please make your own individual posts in the character list for future editing. (this includes worlds if you have one) I will start an IC post shortly! I hope you all like action! :D
@Sessamaru Well considering my character will be of a very different race too, that's perfectly okay! As far as the wall of text thing, the character sheets are actually meant to be fairly simple. I prefer most of the describing to be done in-RP rather than in a CS. C:
Hey guys! Still learning the forums! This was supposed to be the OOC but I flubbed up. :P https://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/76546-sao-a-thousand-worlds-of-sickness/ooc @MarsAdept Accepted~! To integrate characters from your world into the rest of the MMO's, each world's moons will affect characters from Blood Moons. Characters from Blood Moons will be the only ones aware of the appropriate moon in each world. Wherever our characters go, if it's night, you pick the moon stat. :) @Videomixer @Midori @CorruptedShadow @malmshodes @WeepingLiberty All of you may join, of course! Also, Mars' world is a great example for what to look for. Your characters and their worlds will be carried throughout the entire rest of the game. Mars' characters will always know which moon they will get a buff from no matter the world they're in. Just like flying is carried over from Alfheim Online and SAO's swordwielding skills are usable. Some characters may even gain new skills from certain MMO's that have nothing to do with their original game! Please post your characters and worlds in the OOC whenever they're ready! Remember, all games have a fighter class, so you don't have to write a world of detail on every class. It's the uniqueness that really matters. You don't have to spend much time at all on explaining each class or job or coming up with a battery of new skills to pick from. You create them as you go along. After all, there aren't many skills listed in SAO and the language used to write magic spells in ALO isn't near enough of a database to pull from. That being said, I will hope to see you all in the ooc!
This is in regards to the Interest Check http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/76401-sword-art-online-like-role-play/ooc?page=2#post-2393297 And for those who showed interest in my idea, here it is again: Rule 1. Be literate and use a spellchecker
The story thus far. . . This RP picks up several years after the boom of immersive MMORPG's. As such, regular people can create their own worlds with their own stats and traits. Then, each character can be shared across an innumerable amount of other gaming servers. Skills and stats carry over. All of the algorithms are adjusted perfectly and no data is loss when transitioning. SAO now spans over five-hundred floors. ALO is now the #2 MMO of all time, second to SAO. The Alf race has also become available upon completing hidden quests in Alfheim Online. Upon completion of this quest, the player can become an Alf or their original race as they please. They can grant another player (any player) the gift of the Alf and all of its special characteristics, such as a much longer flight time. However, the gift can only be given once per year starting one-year prior to the character obtaining the Alf ability. Hundreds of thousands of other games also exist. Some, much smaller than others. And some who's realms span hundreds of servers across the globe. SAO, ALO, and the third ranking game, Der Monde (DM) to be continued Lists of worlds/MMO's will be listed in the character sheet section. Post your character here as well as in the Character Sheet list for future reference.
As far as those three realms are concerned, here's your Realm "character sheet" so to speak, however, you may be part of anyone else's realm too.
That is, if anyone else comes along.
