The older man looked up towards the younger elf, "We have milk... but at the moment, not a lot of will to continue." he said as he looked at her, pressing his lips together, "do you have anything to trade for?" he asked, "or instead join an escort until we get out of the highlands?"

"If not, you might be able to find something in the trading town half a quarter of a league down the path on the other side of that hill, and might be able to do more with that coin there... a silver coin from the south could buy most of what everyone here has," he said as he sat there, smiling before looking at the other man who had walked up. His eyes slowly moved as did his torso, his head turning slowly as the smile widened.

"And what can I do for you traveler?" he asked as his eyes landed upon the taller man, "because if you are looking to leave this land, then we will be heading out soon possibly..."
Chapter 1 - On the way to Exodus

On the edge of the western highlands and the mountains in the north, a group gathered, it was mainly folk who lived off the lands or traded, but they had heard from several travelers that there was a way to see a better world. A better world was what most of the poor, desperate, or weak could hear, a life away from a monotonous lifestyle of repeating the same actions every day to live. These people did not work that much, the foraged and lead their herds of various animals through the land protecting them. Simple lives on the outskirts of a civilized world.

This society wanted more; they had come back from the mountains to their ancestral homelands when the river returned life and streams to the region. Their leader Hulius was asked to read a map to the exodus and to lead them there. And so he had set off weeks before, leaving the cliffs of the coastline, and heading inland. Ninety-seven people in total, most of them younger folk, the oldest being the elderly Hulius in his late fifties. There were only humans in this close society.

Several days into their journey, they had left their ancestral homeland and entered a territory unknown to most of them. Here, raiders had come to their camp, they took several people, and some were killed when resisting. Their flock of animals had been cut into almost half as well. Hulius had to lead them to a small trading town in which he had used many times before and bought back the people who were taken. Those that were lost to the sword, not much could be done at that time.

Hulius sat on a blanket next to the footpath towards the city, just off the side with his people, they had collected some new members to join them, but he was looking for warriors or just people to help protect the group. The men could always use their slings, as he had done previously, but it was not much help against numbers, or when an opponent came close. To which, not a lot of them knew how to fight in a melee. Several had offered for coin, but he was unable to give that, he only had his people, and the way to get across the continent.

But he would sit, and continue to rest himself there, he had several baskets with him, along with a sling with a pouch of rocks, a skin full of water, and a crooked staff to help him guide the flock of sheep that was spread across the hill which his followers rested upon. Near him, a fire was started as the night was slowly coming over the rolling hills, a beautiful orange sky spread out above them.

Character's history (villages/tribes/people is up to you on their names/traditions but this is a western fantasy) : Hulius, an older adult from the western highlands, nearest to the mountains. He grew up the family of herdsmen and Shepards; trading was much of his family's ways as they traveled along the lowest mountains and the highest hills. He grew up quickly and was not able to have a wife due to his brother taking one of the few women in the area.

In his middle ages, he still did not marry, but he did have the possibility of siring children with women of pleasure through his travels to some small cities and towns and spending most of his time traveling with his flock. Getting what he needed, and returning his friends and family with resources that herders normally couldn't get.

When the time came, and the word of the Exodus had come to the western highlands, his people wished to leave in search of a new world and elected him the navigator across the lands. Even though he had never left his homeland.

Exodus of the Forgotten Realm

Once upon a time, a god decided there would be a world full of life, that would thrive upon one another. Once within this world, it’s inhabitants were quiet in the aspects of their lives, and living day to day as it should have always been. The inhabitants stuck to their own tribes and species until the day the Monvau River ran dry. Then some of it’s tributaries that kept the highland peoples to their ways. The lowlands, the peoples of the mountains and the undergrounds grew in power as the water and the resources that relied upon it were needed through the different peoples. For a long time, the people of the highlands grew desperate or died off slowly leaving territory unclaimed, wars spread through the highland regions of the continent. People claiming ruins of the few cities that were in the southern highlands. The southern highlands stuck to their own, and with the peoples of the mountains remained strong and, continued their lives how it was previously.

Until the rains came back and the river ran strong once more, the highlands grew once more to how they were supposed to be, and some ancient tribes had returned.. However what was unknown to these peoples were that they were not the only ones in the world, in their feuds they had lost contact with the continents that had surrounded them, and when the first explorers came, they were killed in shock at what the once peaceful people had become. Afraid of the rest of the world, the continent grew distant and ignored. Its expeditions out into the world that was once its friends were never returning. Though the rest of the world waited, wishing for them to come out of this dark time, the barbaric acts that they had committed against each other, and against their lost friends. Wars still rage as blame is shifted from tribe to tribe, people to people, no one is safe any longer, as people try building rafts and boats to escape the continent, but there is no word of what has happened to them. Some have returned home, never getting to the winds or the outsiders that had kept them there for so long.

A group of refugees has begun to amass for an exodus from the continent and with it, the interests of the tribes, and the nations that have begun to form throughout the lands. This is due to some of the individuals coming, such as magicians, priests, soldiers, and nobles.

All have their adventures and travels, and there is a band forming in the southern mountain range, which needs guidance across the continent. The warring peoples have cut off the exodus from most of the continent, and these people have sent out individuals in search of volunteers to protect, and show them where they need to go, and possibly guide them through the exodus into the outer world.

He looked at the man, "I don't think we even know names." he said looking at him, "I am a blacksmith, and I do not know your respective trades."

He smiled as a plate of some brewing stew was placed in front of him with a mug of whatever beer was available. He placed a few small coins on the table after it was set down. Looking up to the individual delivering it to him, "I thank you." he said smiling before turning to the girl, "yes... I was told job that would be a once and a lifetime thing by a friend coming by what was my home."
@Mimichan 0w0 sounds good, just post it in here.

@Abymfubut I might make an RP chat if since we have at least one other, and hopefully gain more with time and activity.
