Li sat up a little straighter and grinned. "Bars you say? You had me at bars." She chuckled. "Food is good too. As wonderful as our furry woodland creatures are, I wouldn't mind some food I don't catch myself. Town sounds like a nice break from all the bickering with our pals across the river."

Jett laughed a bit, then asked curiously, "Do you wanna go down there?" It occurred to him that by disappearing to town for a few hours, he was just asking for trouble from Sacha. He felt slightly guilty, and he decided to leave a note for her in his tent in case she came looking. I don't want to just disappear on her again... he thought. It was pretty lousy of me to do that once. Jett looked at Li and grinned. "Just give me a sec to get ready and I'll be back out." He got to his feet and walked over into the tent Sacha had granted him for the two weeks and he grabbed an old receipt he had lying around. He scribbled out a quick 'gone out, back soon' and tossed it on his bed. He grabbed his bag and walked back out of the tent.

As he flipped over, Li took a moment to examine her conversation partner. She wasn't usually the type for idle conversation but she wasn't finding Jett to be too distasteful. Maybe it's because talking to him might piss Sacha off... Or oh god. Maybe I'm getting more bored than I thought. When he flipped back over, she nodded. "I've heard a few people mention going into town. I haven't made it there yet. Anything there interesting enough to make the walk worth it?"

Jett shrugged, then thought for a moment. "Well, let me think. There's always plenty of restaurants that make for a really nice change from the food here. Oh, and a movie theater, too." He paused, and added with a chuckle, "The local bars aren't too bad either at the right time of night." He tried not to let on how well he knew the town, since he did in fact spend the last month or so without a place to stay, sleeping on benches and in alleys down at the town.

Ambrose shrugs passively. "But you're not second-in-command are you?" He then tilts his head. "If you have to report to the leader on every decision you make, then you're not really doing whatever you want, now are you?" He grins at her. "You're not really thinking clearly. I think you need to take a vacation. Go to the Bahamas or somewhere warm. I think the sun may help also brighten your attitude."

Vera opened her mouth to argue further, but instead took a deep breath and shrugged his comments off. She narrowed her eyes at the strange Rabin and muttered, "Are you getting some weird enjoyment out of trying to mess with me?" She finally felt calm enough to place the bow back over her shoulder. She relaxed a bit on the rock where she was perched.

"She took your knife and punched you in the face? Yep. She's still mad." Li glanced around the camp. "I can't attest to what you did back then but since my recent arrival, I've learned that your average Rabin splits their day between tennis, water aerobics, and time at the day spa." She shrugged. "This forest isn't all that entertaining. I dedicate my time to witty quips and hoping a Brom wanders close enough to stab. Pretty much as exciting as it gets."

Jett let out a loud sigh and flopped over onto his stomach, face in the grass. "There's nothing fun to do around here," he mumbled, his voice muffled through the ground. "I loved living here before... How did I manage?" he laughed. He rolled over again so he was lying flat on his back. "I guess I used to go into town a bit," he shrugged.

Ambrose shrugs. "Ambition doesn't get you anywhere unless you actually pursue it." He tilts his head to one side. "So what's your plan? Murder Fabine and everyone who opposes you? Start a rebellion, take Fabine prisoner, convert everyone to your cause?" He grins. "You could even start your own group! Now that would be very exciting!"

Vera found herself calming down and becoming more rational, the opposite of what this troublesome Rabin seemed to want. She noticed this, which motivated her even further to remain calm. She ran her hand up and down along her bow, something she used to calm herself, as she went on, "Of course not, Fabine is a great leader of the Broms. As second-in-command, I can still do whatever the hell I want and help the group, I just have to report to the leader," she retorted. "And I'm not the one trying to change how others think. I think you're the one that needs to start a new group."

Li took on a dramatic tone. "Well I generally lie around and write poetry in between bouts of complaining about the injustices of the world but in between thaaaat.." She chuckled before returning to her normal tone. "Rank-wise, I'm a fighter. Got the pointy metal stick in my tent to prove it. What about you? What do you do when you're not getting punched in the face?"

Jett sighed. "Well, right now I'm a swordsman without his sword." He gazed sadly toward Sacha's tent. "I used to be a fighter during my time here, but Sacha took my switchblade as part of my house arrest deal thingy," he admitted with a shrug. He thought about anything else he did for fun, but came up embarrassingly blank. "Honestly, I haven't gotten to do much over the past two years for my own pure enjoyment. And everything from my time here is still so foggy."

Ambrose listens to her, smirking to himself as he felt the tension grow in the air. He inhales and looks back at the Rabin camp. "Then why even worry about it? If Fabine's not going to be impressed, you should give up now. Otherwise, you're wasting your time and energy on something you can't achieve." He looks back at her. He chuckles at the image. "I suppose that's true, but at the same time, how could you lead the Broms? How could you hope to strengthen a group like that?"

Vera took a deep breath and glared at him fiercely. "I could lead the Broms," she declares with a snarl. "The Broms would thrive under my leadership. Everyone would be well-trained, well-equipped, well-fed, and happy." She paused and added, "That's more than most of your group mates can say."
<Snipped quote by jaywing93>

Li took the offered hand with a grin. "I wouldn't worry about that. I'm sure you'll find that I excell at being a jackass. One of my many talents." She chuckled. "Whatever went on between you and Sacha back then has no effect on me. I won't judge you on being a super douche."

Jett rolled his eyes and grinned. "Well, I appreciate that." He felt much better than he had earlier that morning, and felt officially cheered-up. He glanced around and went on, "So, what do you do around here? I mean, what's your rank?"
<Snipped quote by jaywing93>

"There is no stronger group, don't you get it??" Ambrose sighs heavily, watching the girl. "I think that hate is stronger than greed. Revenge, vengeance, or whatever. If you're driven to disliking someone enough, you'll stop at nothing to see them punished. I think that's stronger than greed." He raises an eyebrow. "Nothing's wrong with wanting to be second-in-command, so why don't you try harder to get that?" He then grins. "Are you weak? Archers tend to be pretty weak."

Vera gritted her teeth with frustration as he ranted back at her. She clenched her fists and snarled at him, "Try harder, you say?" She let out a huff of anger and growled, "Fabine is the leader, and there's no impressing him." She froze the instant he called her weak, and her eyes narrowed to slits. "Maybe I couldn't wrestle a brawler to the ground, but I can send an arrow through their face so fast they'll never even see the whites of my eyes," she hissed.
