she/her pronouns. I'm interested in a wide variety of roleplays, but I tend toward prefering High Fantasy and High Sci Fi settings (think Elder Scrolls or Warhammer 40k). Whether it's a Nation Roleplay (I love digging into fictional politics) something on a smaller, individual scale, or something in between, there's a good chance I might be interested! I especially enjoy fantasy setting with weird, esoteric fluff - up to and including the nonsense that happens in Elder Scrolls, or, occasionally, Age of Sigmar.

Fave settings /period/ are Warcraft, and Golarion. WH40k and AoS are close.

I was using the wiki page as a general guide for the history. I'll try to make those edits as soon as possible.
Alright, I will make those edits. I wasn't entirely sure about what to do, considering how little Poland gets mentioned in the lore summaries.
This is an app. It is your friend. It is in progress. Nation: Poland/Slavic Union Leader: President Anatol Plawgo History: After having spent decades split apart by hostile foreign powers, during the Great War, Poland was finally able to break away and become independent in the ensuing chaos. Poland, during the great war, was infrequently fought over compared to the territory of the nations that controlled it. While the nations that formerly controlled it (particularly Austria-Hungary, Prussia, and the Russian Empire) were largely crippled, struggling to keep themselves afloat, Poland was able to declare its own independent without much fighting, and relatively few causalities. In addition, thanks to the increasingly weakened state the aforementioned nations were in, the newly-formed Polish government was also able to reclaim much of its territory, though Prussia maintained control of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The next move for Poland, in addition to rapid military buildup, was to stimulate the Polish economy using its recently reclaimed ports and national resources. Largely thanks to the speed with which the Polish government moved towards economic recovery, it was able to establish itself as a major European trading power, so much so that it quickly came to even economically rival many of the nations that formally controlled it. The economic growth that Poland experienced allowed it to fuel military buildup, and thusly secure its position. For the first time in decades, being both a major conduit of trade and a technologically advanced nation, Poland was able to exert its influence both domestically and internationally. The Polish government and its people clung to their newfound freedom, and took drastic steps to ensure that their position remained secure, especially beginning in the 1970s. Possessing of advanced rocketry, small-arms, and armor, the Polish government was able to incite and encourage the rebellions in the Austrian territory of the Czech Republic, and eventually absorbed the formerly Austrian territory. Austria, unable to exert sufficient force against Poland, lost the territory to the Republic of Poland, which soon afterwards adopted the name of "the Slavic Union", in an effort to appear more welcoming to the citizens of the Czech Republic. Only five years later, though, eastern Europe would be embroiled in conflict once again. Poland's relations with the Ukraine, at the time, were largely neutral, but still quite strained, largely due to Poland's evident attempts to increase its base of power. But a few weeks into the Hungarian invasion, the Polish military had mobilized, and, after an agreement had been reached with the Ukrainian government, crossed the border into the Ukraine. Despite initial successes, the Polish military encountered several obstacles along the way. In particular, Ukrainian civilians often attempted to slow the progress of Polish troops in rural areas, due to the fact that modern communication in the area was extremely sparse and many rural communities still held animosity towards Poland. In particular, though, the fact that large portions of the Polish military hadn't seen combat in several years resulted in heavy losses against the Hungarian forces in the first few battles of the war, though they were largely successful. Polish Forces, despite initially heavy losses, were able to force the Hungarian forces out of the Ukraine in short order, gaining both valuable military experience (which, for the most part, they lacked) and a third member of the Slavic Union in the process. One year later, in 1976, the Polish government deployed forces in Moscow as part of a peacekeeping operation. Violence in Moscow was reaching an incredible high, and came to threaten the stability of Eastern Europe as a whole -- especially the weakened, recently invaded Ukraine. Thankfully, Polish forces were able to quell the ongoing violence, and, soon afterwards, occupied Moscow and the surrounding area. President Anatol was quick to pull forces out of the region and replace them with mercenaries, a move that was widely opposed by his political enemies. Despite the generally unified state that Poland is in, there are several notable people with political stances largely contrary to that of the current government. This is especially true in the military and the arms industry, where a more aggressive Poland is encouraged. Perhaps most notably, Mateusz Wyrzyk, CEO of Poznan Engineering Works (Poznań Zakłady Inżynieryjne), has frequently pushed for a more aggressive and independent stance to be adopted by the Polish government. PZI was and remains one of the largest manufacturing corporations in Poland, in both military and civilian sectors. Despite what the name may imply, the company also oftentimes funds research into various technologies, and maintains strong relations with major Polish universities like the Warsaw University of Technology, Jagiellonian University, and the University of Wroclaw.
What things about Poland's history are still canon?
Dzien dobry, motherfuckers.
Woo! I found out that I might be able to do genuine tractor beams.
Just threw up a post. I will be adding additional stuff later today, which will focus primarily on the GIC itself.
Two Solid Shadows Grzegorzy found himself violently cursing, albeit silently, the very moment he spotted the Stoor's interpreter. The first serious wrench in their plans, no doubt - and a serious choice which he would be responsible for. Regardless of whether or not the woman was a clone, he would do what he could in order to preserve her, but he could not allow her to stay in the way of their mission. In an effort to prolong her life, he gestured down the pathway, hoping that the Stoor aide would continue on their way as he spoke. Failing that, there was little he could do. "I can imagine it would be a tough job." He nodded, folding his hands together. "In my species' history, if a superior officer isn't worthy of their own position, they tend to get usurped." He chuckled under his breath. "I suppose, you could say that's what I'm here to do... To make things as they should be, on behalf of a benefactor." He shrugged, handing a thoroughly sealed pouch to the Stoor. "Although we humans might be less involved than your own kind, we do have our uses!" He laughed, smiling. "For example, your...Slave." He said, a sour taste evident in the tone of his voice. "You might not think it, based upon appearances, but I would be willing to pay a great sum to study her alive.  To... See how our biology adapts to the environment of Two Solid Shadows. Even a few hours with her would be quite an enlightening experience." He nodded, finally turning to face the Stoor. "If you don't mind telling me, though, what do you -really- think of Seven Pitted Wheels? Are you honestly so loyal to someone who abuses you like that? Not that you couldn't handle the aforementioned burdens and hardships, of course."   GCN Concordia, Sagittarius A* Alexander sighed harshly, under his breath, clasping his hands together as he glared into the surface of the table. For a few moments, he breathed deeply, as if trying to calm himself, then turned his gaze back towards Seven Desert Streams. He was still glaring angrily, though his expression had certainly softened. "If our perceptions really mattered so little, what reason would you have to insult and threaten us? If you knew anything about our species, you'd know what threats and insults do. You can try abduct my wife, and all my children. You can call us as stupid and inferior as you want. I dare you. Tell me I'm ugly, a babbling idiot, call my wife a whore. Do you know what all of that will do?" He growled. "It will only make us angrier. Trust me, other humans have tried the very same tactics of demoralization in the past, and it only ever resulted in their own failure. It won't work for you. One day, the galaxy is going to get tired of your shtick. And, you, I for one, can see through your façade. That hubris you have - the way you look down on others - I can see your insults for what they are. It's not because of some fact or truth - it's because you can't see reality for what it really is. It blinds you. Do you know what happens with beings that show hubris? They fall, and they fall hard. Maybe, just maybe, you think that oppressing the galaxy using their own fears is going to always work for you. What happens when they stop fearing you - once they fight back? You're afraid of that happening, aren't you?"
So I finally got my history up and finished. Which means my sheet is done. So Jedd, am I cool to post now?
Yep, you are! I will be posting soon.
Is this RP still accepting characters? I had an idea for one based off of a mythological character by the name of Pan Twardowski. Although I obviously won't be straight-up ripping off the folktale, I will be using it as a base. I had a few questions first, though. Firstly, how much can lifespan be extended by way of magic? And, secondly, does an instrument user need to be affiliated with the Academy?
