Section #1: Jig Being Right

It has come to my attention, that I am primarily right and drunk.

Jig is completely right.

Jig is right.

[11.01.50] Gowi:

Jig is right. Feel free to send that along.

[Jig is] 100% correct.

Jig was right 8 months ago, and is still right.

I love you, Jig. It's because you're Always Right™.

Once again, Jig is absolutely right about this.

Where is Jig when I need to vent about politics?
Drunk.

The mighty Jig is of course right.

@Sigma - can we get a once-and-for-all clarification on WMD's, too, just so there's no further reason for dispute?
I'm gonna suggest that the above line of discussion is getting personal, which isn't helpful. I feel that maybe @Sigma should step in, set an absolute date (although there already is one in the OP so I have no idea why it's even in question) and declare absolutely yay or nay about WMD's (although I think he already did - nay). For what it's worth, 'maybe they could's and 'maybe they couldn't's surely play second fiddle to telling the stories we want to tell? This is fiction; we can make even science up if we want to.

Anyhoo, apart from working out plot-stuff with individuals, I'm gonna not wade any further into this, because it's looking dangerously close to playground squabbling and, the way this is going, I can't see this de-escalating, so I'd recommend you all step back and wait for Sigma too. GM is god and I'm sure we all agree that he gets the final say.
One or two decades works super-duper well. I'd've accommodated for longer ago, but, actually, if we can say for certain that it's one or two decades, that's absolutely ideal.

How belligerent would the Western territories of the Hungarian Federation have been: would they themselves have been aggressive, or been the victims of any aggression of mine?
<Snipped quote by Jig>If you used to be belligerent during the Great War then there must be a good reason why we can maintain good relations or supply arms to you.
Take West Germany, for example.
As remnants of the Nazi Empire they were at first prohibited to own any kind of military, not even a border patrol.
Then the Korean War and generally the rivalry with the Soviet Block gave the NATO enough reason to not only back up West Germany but even promote its military expansion.
If there's a new common enemy then I can see Hungary supporting you.

When exactly was the Great War (in terms of X years ago)? I'll work something out because my history is still in flux, but I'd definitely like to get involved in it - just need to know when it is.
I'm not quite going to be too aggressive yet, although I think I'm gonna be involved in @Willy Vereb's European wars (and probably come out of them badly, so as to give my nation some glory days to harken back to).

Perhaps leaving some turf in North America blank but at least inhabited would give those nations something to squabble over without being too directly aggressive toward each other? I don't think I can quite process enough territory to take anything else on just yet.
@Jig Now controls that last space in Europe.

But would like to relinquish scandiwegia (while holding onto the northernmost islands). Ta. :)
Gonna be major updates to my sheet. We seemed to lack an old-school dictatorship and I was worried by the isolation of being in Scandiwegia.
I'm shortly gonna plough through everybody's sheets and try to work out potential relationships between Jodesia and everybody else. I'll probably struggle to come up with anything for nations that are too far East or too Southern, but I've not looked properly yet.

@JigGiven how we're practically neighbors I see no reason why I can't sell equipment to you. Especially surplus from the Great War. I suppose you remained mostly neutral during it, right? (WW1+WW2 equivalent)
I can also sell more recent development so long they don't count as military secret.

I'm struggling to find details for the Great War beyond a reference to it in your sheet. Depending on when it was (not sure how it took place in the 21st century when this is set in 1520) and what it was about, there could be some historical precedence for my Eastern territories to have weighed-in unsuccessfully, hence their modern-day reticence. Have I missed some crucial detail? Like, are we using Great War for as a synonym for the Cataclysm? I can't see any mention of it in the OP, so I'm not sure if it's region-specific.

Selling equipment to my Eastern Territories would absolutely definitely be a thing nowdays (we're talking, last five years) as the current King is trying to modernise his backward home countries. West Lamonia, however, is probably desperately trying to court the markets in the Americas, and so it would seem more likely that they would arm themselves over there.

either watered down or older weaponry would be freely sold. Just like the IRL America, it's still some of the highest quality stuff the NAU has but not -the- highest.

Awesome. In which case, I might genuinely just say in my sheet that West Lamonia's military is basically plagiarised from yours (both IC and OoC), if that's alright? :P
@Monkeypants@Isotope Got a question, do the NAU and Casadia often sell military equipment?

I was gonna ask the same thing; mostly because actually West Lamonia would probably try to buy the equipment from other countries, with no great history of building non-specialised modern stuff themselves, and also because it would mean I could basically copy what other people are using, since I don't overwhelmingly know what I'm doing. :P

I mean, i was under the impression we all got sent back to the iron age or earlier and we've had to work our way back up.

That's what I've been working to. I don't have a super-set chronology in mind, but mine is basically an accelerated version of iron age -> dieselpunk era. it's probably hugely inaccurate, but basically what I'm aiming for

In other news: more stuff is in my character sheet, including the Tank of Dubious Utility and Potential OoC Contention, and a good old college try at describing the other military stuff. Would anybody mind taking a glance at it and seeing whether what I have seems reasonable and point out any glaring omissions I've made. I've not even tried to describe land equipment, naval or air forces, because I straight-up don't know what I'm doing there.

In Subsequent Newb-News: what constitutes godmoding in an NRP? Like, obviously I couldn't say that another nation as a nation decided to declare war - but is each player in control of 100% of the citizens that belong to their nations (regardless of geographic location)? I'm gonna go see if there's an NRP guide in the articles section, to clarify stuff, but if anybody could give me an idea of what godmoding in this would look like, that might be really useful.

(thanks for dealing with my uncertainties)
Did some tweakery to my sheet. Most notably adapted it from an Empire to an Absolute Monarchy, because I kinda felt it worked better. Also added some notable people. Hooray!1!!
No complaints from me.
