@Balthazar007I edited my response to include Indigo being outside. Hope that's alright.
@Balthazar007 wasn't sure if we could decide whether the door stayed open or not so i left it for you to decide!
Time seemed to be going by too fast. Indigo was trying to react, overwhelmed by everything at once. He was worried, frightened, and angry all at once. This had been supposed to be a normal outing to Pewter City. It was all so much. Too much.

But at the same time, he zeroed in on one thing.

They needed to get out. Not even just for the sake of chasing the thieves. Who knew what those men had done to the exhibit? Were there more pokemon hiding in the shadows after they left, pokemon that would deal with them? What if a fire pokemon the men left behind incinerated the place to get rid of incriminating evidence? Indigo shuddered. Sure, they had one water type, but could a Squirtle put out an entire fire by itself?

It was dangerous to stay here. Dangerous to pursue the thieves as well, sure, but as least they wouldn't have been in an enclosed space with tricks or traps left behind.

So then, who had the best shot of helping them get out with the door closing? Indigo broke into the fastest sprint of his life, trying to think up some way for the door to remain open as well.

"Kovi, String Shot! Keep the door open! We need to get out!"

Kovi, being closest to the door, let out a skein of silk from his mouth. He was able to swing it keep it open, now having a pulley to keep the door from shutting. Psybeam would have been nice too, maybe we could have blown it off... Well, maybe it's best to keep property damage to a minimum.

It worked, and Indigo soon found himself outside. Out of the frying pan, but into the fire, readying himself for a sure battle with the criminals.
@prettydrops@TheForgottenArc

Also, the third man had to hold the door open while the other two struggled to run. So there's time to catch the door right before it closes.

EDIT: Oh, I see you were trying to stop them from getting out the door with your Grotle. Sorry, not going to let that fly. If ya'll want to battle them, you're going to have to make it out the door to the outside. I'm putting up my next post now.

Cool! Yeah I was concerned about battling in small quarters haha. Glad they made it outside lol

I'll have a post up soon! What's your schedule look like for showdown?

@Balthazar007 woohoo!

Is this going to be a showdown battle, then?
I just want to make sure I don't mess up like last time. X]

Edit: not to nitpick arc, but if the thieves are already close to the door, wouldn't it be difficult to come in front of the door and the thieves, especially with a slower Pokemon like grotle?
Hope everyones doing well! Just wanted to pop in and say im still present :)
Yep hope everyone had a wonderful christmas!

I read this before actually reading your IC post. You did control the thieves a bit. If you read the last paragraph of my post, you'd see that getting in and out without being noticed was their plan, regardless of who was in the room with them. They shouldn't have been surprised by the "three kids" being in there, and they definitely shouldn't have needed hostages.

I'm not asking you to change anything however. I can roll with this. I'll just have the two you spoke for be "less intelligent lackeys". I'm going to have the third thief (the leader of the group) scold them for loosing their cool and deviating from the plan. He's going to order a retreat with whatever they already have in their bags (which is about half the exhibit, the most valuable half).

I'm super sorry about that! I kind of have a fever going on.l so I'm fuzzy with details.. are you sure you don't want me to edit it? I don't mind!

Edit: seriously I feel so bad. I can't believe I missed those details. Are you positive you don't want me to edit it?

Qwerty furrowed her brow, puzzled. These Pokemon were feeding on feelings of misery? IT was fascinating, certainly, but puzzling too.

Well there had to be a better way! She honked at Valen, who wasn't sure how to respond. She seemed annoyed.

"Maybe if I read the pokedex entry again.." He sighed and flipped the device open once more.

"They feed on negative emotions... I guess that guy looked kinda down. Qwerty, it's going to be tough to convince them. I mean where else..." Valen trailed off, wracking his brain. "I bet there's a better place than here. There has to be!" An idea struck him.

If negative emotions like fear and misery were what the Shuppet fed on, then maybe they belonged somewhere like a haunted house? One that people went to for attractions? Plenty of negative emotions swirled around in those places. And they'd get to be their terrifying little selves. Isson was a huge region, there had to be such a place! Even if there wasn't, Valen thought, then he would make sure to deposit them at places they were better off at. It would be difficult, require traveling, but he was sure he could find something.

"Qwerty, tell them we can find a way better place than this" Valen whispered. "It'll be loaded with food and fun for them, they won't even know what hit 'em. Tell them it's a place where humans go to to feel really sad and scared."

Qwerty was puzzled, but nonetheless relayed the message. She let out a series of excited sounding quacks, explaining that her human knew a much better source of food an entertainment for the Shuppet.

Valen chewed on his lip nervously. Would it work...?

So@Balthazar007 wasn't sure if foresight applied to like... Mimi's vision only or if someone used foresight, all Pokemon could see it. I try to keep as close as possible to the games, and i know that it affects the opponent regardless of what pokemon uses it.

The Japanese translation is 'Mind Read' so I'm thinking that only Mimi can see the opponents clearly, versus the rest of the Pokemon in the room. But Kovi has compound eyes and I figured, would be able to adjust to the darkness more than other Pokemon or something.

I decided not to control the thieves because honestly I think it's funner if you do, hope that's okay! So you can maybe determine whether the attacks hit or not or what Pokemon the thieves have. I kinda want to like... just be surprised with their next move, if that makes sense. XD
