It took about 3 minutes for Starbright to return from packing in. Well one would assume packing in. The reality was that he chucked his suitcase on the bed and left with the expectation that someone else would be doing it for him. Starbright was in for a rude awakening when he returned later tonight. Still that wasn't all he did, Starbright made sure to applying sunblock and picked his favorite out of the three pairs of sunglasses he brought. Outside of that he was straight back to the beach.
Starbright wore red trucks, shades, flip flops, and the spirit of a winner.
"Starbright is here. And he is in to win." Starbright gave an almighty pose creating a burst of light behind him that resembled a sun rise. Or a sun set for his volleyball opponents. Starbright, having looked at the others, was immediately going to put Chad on his team. But he had stopped himself, he was on vacation. It could be nice not to control things for a change. "Alright what does everyone think about teams?"
It was a strange feeling, not being able to see his own hands. He had to admire Calypso's invisibility spell. There were plenty of times back in Aus David could have used it. Speaking of which, this whole plan felt reminiscent of home. Sure the invisibility was new, and he hadn't staked out a graveyard before. But that was all a back drop to the same type of shit he did back before he moved. Now it was only a matter of time before they saw the people he needed to jump. David thought he had moved across the world to get away from that type of life. What was next? Shaking down pixies? Regardless, the point was that David had been in these situations before. He leaned back on a tree, slowly chewed on a piece of bubble gum, and waited for it all to go wrong. These things always went wrong.
One might ask that if he knew it was going to go wrong, why didn't he speak up in the meeting. Well that is because he wouldn't be able to think up anything better. David was a punch first ask questions later kind of guy and he knew it. Often the questions part was skipped entirely. Sitting in the meeting all he did was make the occasional quip while contributing very little to the plan itself.
This attitude changed greatly when the vampires entered the picture though. David stood up and paid attention to them. He hadn't seen a real life vampire before, and he wanted to see how they match up to their movie counterparts. In general, they looked human. Far too human. Sure they had skin as white as snow, but there was nothing to really say 'this is a monster'. It wouldn't stop David from fighting, of course not. He had beaten plenty of people up. But if the task was to kill, he wasn't sure he would be able to go through with it.
Eventually the vampire started moving toward the group. David stopped chewing. This is where it would go wrong. In what felt like a blur, the invisibility shattered and Hana was taken by the larger vampire. David reached into his pocket a slid on his newly bought knuckles. His immediate thought was to take the big guy on, but that was interrupted by Alayna. Her quick thinking had put a wall of flame between Hana and the bloodsuckers. David didn't feel like getting burnt so he turned his attention to the younger vampire.
The vampire rushed toward them with incredible pace. At such a pace, one wouldn't be able to register oncoming projectiles as easily. David took advantage of that by spitting his gum out and at the young vampires face hoping to startle and stagger him. "Roight, I got the runt of the litter then aye. You fellas aren't as ugly as I thought you'd be, but you are going to be a whole lot uglier when I'm done with ya." Still trying to capitalize off his dirty tactic, David went for an uppercut with his knuckles. But he would soon find out that vampires are not the same as the back alley thugs he brawled back in Aus.
Ollie was pleasantly surprised, everyone agreed to the plan and was going about executing it. One may think that, in an organisation of elite spies, it would be the expected norm. But not even close. This was a very rare moment and knowing his own plan had that effect was satisfying. "Yeah I'll be looking to b line it to the IT room after I secure Agent Nox's entry. Ben, I assume you and Carmen will take the front door approach? Just skip the basement, the bomb isn't down there. Well, unless the opposing team wants the rats to do the job for us."
"That is time. Move in. Best of luck."
"Off to it then"
As the group disbanded toward their duties and no one was looking, Ollie had a small fist bump and close lipped smile as if to say yes! Then quickly returned to standard 'professional' look before anyone noticed.
Ollie noticed that his phone had gotten a notification. He had forgotten to turn it off, so that was a good reminder to do so before Bug went to town on it. But first things first, lets see that notification. Speak of the devil, it was Bug.
“Don’t die too quickly ;)”
“Wouldn't give ya the satisfaction”
“Enjoy the power while it lasts :)”
And then like that his phone was off. Although knowing her, she probably already downloaded a good deal of his files. Like the FBI agent meme but ten times as terrifying because its a teenage girl. Still it was nice of her to send her 'best wishes'. How thoughtful. Ollie couldn't hide a grin as he placed his phone back in his pocket.
“Alright, Nox, lets go to the wall around there so Wahrheit can see our pretty faces.” The two around to the side to the right of the entrance where Carmen and Ben entered. The weren't any standard entry was but plenty of windows, most were smashed ones at that. This meant quiet entry and clean sniper shots. “I'll climb those bins there and get onto the second floor. You get up to the third floor then wait on my signal to throw the EMP in and enter. If we can I would like it to be like the Alps. But lets treat that as lightning in a bottle and make sure to use Wahrheit's expertise.”
This was a mission performed by Agents Static, Nox, and Lancer. The objective was to steal vital records on various criminal activities. The mission went extremely well and gathered 0 casualties or combat engagements. Out of curiosity, Static left a camera behind. It took them 5 days to notice they were gone.
“The code word for when to enter is: party.”
After climbing the garbage bin, Ollie went to quick work. He had noticed a few of Binx's claymores around but made a note to avoid them. He vaulted over the windowsill and went to stand in front of the nearest security camera. He was a good 3 metres away, enough to give Bug a good look at him. Ollie threw two EMP grenades, both down separate corridors. Then he held a third in his hand and a detonator for them in his other.
"Where are you all at? I'm here to party."
The line came out lame, it came out super lame. It sounded so good in Ollie's head. But in practice, it just sucked. Either way it was too late to change it now. He pushed the detonator. That would have taken down at least 4 security cameras, assuming Vanessa had successfully thrown it in on time and entered. It would give it away if he checked in on her though. Ollie just had to put his faith in her. But he has enough faith in her to know it was successful.
One last thing before Bug got those cams back online, which would take about 20 - 30 seconds. Ollie moved closer to the camera so that he was right up to it. Once Bug got them operational, all she would see from that cam would be Ollie's dumb fucking face. Hopefully it would give her a fright. Ollie prepared to gun it once the camera's come back online though. He had more than revealed his location, and he was making it even easier for them just to try and scare Bug. Ollie wouldn't have it any other way.
Friday night had been a good one. A tournament was coming up for AoE2 and he had been practicing to get competition ready. The practice was going well, in fact, he suspected he might have stumbled across a new strat that could take the tournament by surprise. He of course needed to play a bit more to see if it actually improved anything. It was difficult and rare to find anything new in such an old game.
Anyway all of this was to say that this had taken him into the early hours of the morning before he went to sleep. So you can imagine just how painful his headache was when he was woken up only 3 hours later. It was a Saturday! What could even be trying to wake him up? That is when his brain registered that familiar beeping noise and he realized that ignoring it wasn't optional. Lame.
Ollie was kind of expecting it though. After that disaster in Timbuktu he expected they would all be reprimanded in some way. But he didn't expect the cruelty of Director Nadia to extend to sleep deprivation, even though he should have. Stumbling out of bed with all the finesse and grace of an elephant seal, Ollie rose to his feet and let out a big yawn. Beginning the day was a slow lazy journey of putting on his clothes then grabbing an apple to snack on. He then shuffled over to his closet and set his clothes outside removing the fake wall in the back.
Now one may think about a secret compartment of a spy and think of some futuristic cabinet with a bunch of blue or white light emitting from inside for whatever reason. Well not Ollie, that wasn't his style at all. His 'secret compartment' was literally just the inner wall, wooden framing and all. In fact, the wooden framing made for nice shelves. Ollie was able to grab a bunch of EMP grenades and a few comms jammers, slotting them in his backpack.
Grabbing his skateboard on the way out it was off to 1700 Coolridge road. On his journey there he reflected on his own failures at Timbuktu. Binx and himself had been bickering again, same as the usual missions. But this time when it went to shit, it really went to shit. Whether it was really the cause of failure or not, he really couldn't get the idea out of his mind that it might have been a success if not for them butting heads yet again. But he didn't blame Binx. He blamed himself. It was just not in her nature to follow orders often, it should have been something he accounted for. But he didn't, and now he is skateboarding half asleep in the early morning because of it.
Ollie arrived at an appropriate time and tried not to yawn during Nadia's briefing. He didn't want to end up getting pelted with a paint ball like Ben. He just... had to... not... yawn. Letting out a big yawn, Ollie was quickly interrupted by a paint ball gut shot. Which woke him up well enough, but that meant the pain was setting in faster. "Shiiiiiiiit!" Ollie went to his knees and bent over as if he was going to vomit. He didn't bother looking up before speaking. "Jesus christ, I'm awake I'm awake."
It took a bit for Ollie to regain composure and return to his feet. He had been listening to Nadia's brief though. An agent vs agent scenario was a cool concept to him. Often Ollie greatly benefitted from an enemy not knowing what he had up his sleeve. Going up against someone who did would be a good challenge. Plus his team sounded great. Outside of it being necessary to have a rookie on the team, it would be a dream team. Even still Carmen was the preferable rookie in Ollie's eyes. But more important than that, everyone was a team player. Maybe, if it went well, it could lighten his spirits about Timbuktu.
And then there was the punishment. Ollie could see the need for incentive to go all out, but this was beyond excessive. Obviously you want your agents who lose to spend the entire day, if not longer, doing something that won't help them improve in anyway. How dumb was all that? Of course, if he did happen to lose, Ollie would just cheat the clean up process. Actually put some of his agent skills to work to hide it from the director. It sucked that half the people here would have to do that and probably the people who showed up late too. So he meant it whole heartedly when he said "good luck" to the other team before heading off with his group.
"Any ideas, y'all? I really don't want to have to spend Saturday cleaning up paint, for Christ's sake.”
"Well it would probably take more than a day to paint it. But I get the point and I have some ideas."
"So looking at the opposite team I'll give them fives second before any sense of plan or structure is gone. Actually I'll be generous and give them ten seconds. Does this mean that we can go in willy nilly? Hell no. If we don't keep some structure, we will be destroyed. In fact, I'm starting to think Binx and Bug feed of the chaos of it all." He had a small chuckle to himself before continuing. "Frankly we lose if we take them head on. So we a have to be a bit more crafty about this."
"So my idea is myself, Agent Babel, and Agent Kingfisher go in directly. We will serve as a distraction. At a set later time we will detonate of a number of EMPs to disable a good portion of the cams. Agent Nox will use another EMPs at the same to secure her entry undetected. Because multiple cams went down, they shouldn't be much the wiser. Agent Nox will proceed to look for the bomb under cover of her own abilities and our distraction. She will stay close to windows in case she gets into trouble. In which case, Agent Wahrheit will dispatch of obstacles using sniper fire. Nox will then diffuse the bomb."
Ollie rolled two EMPs over to Vanessa. "One is for entry, the other is if you can't take the time to diffuse for whatever reason. Just EMP the bomb and kick the wires out. Its risky, but a good last resort."
"Well, thoughts anyone? Agent Wahrheit, I'm sure you've psychoanalyzed all of us by now. So you probably know the enemy best. I trust you can point out holes in my plan if they're present."
Rowan's car group had arrived a bit earlier than the others. But as agreed they did not enter until they were at full numbers. It was already dark, but the silence screamed far too loud with the feeling of eyes on them. Rowan was nervous, well that is an understatement. Ever since the conversation in the car she couldn't get one fear out of her head that town of Gary no longer belonged to the living. Of course, she had no way of knowing this was the case. It was just her nature to fear the worst had already happened and now they had just willingly drove into the heart of it all in the town center.
Watching Jean Luc's car approach the motel parking lot, she could see just how out of place the witches must look. "Well if the vampires have eyes on the town, they certainly know we are here now. Probably know our faces too." Rowan nervously crossed her arms as she shifted her gaze to see if she could catch potential onlookers. This was a fruitless endeavor and almost convinced her that the feeling of being watched was all in her head. But the feeling was all too palpable.
Upon Jean Luc's group getting out of the car Rowan addressed the group. "Well glad everyone made it here safe. Lets check in and get our stuff packed. I don't want to be out in the open too much longer." Getting a move on, she grabbed her bag out of Charlie's car and slung it over her shoulder. "Oh Charlie, when you guys are all settled in. Could you three head over to our room? We need to start getting a plan together." Rowan's talking incrementally grew in pace, but she managed to get all that out with a hitch. The fear of social situations seems a bit lessened when faced with this greater danger.
Rowan waited for someone else to do all the check in business then continued to the room she was sharing. In general, Rowan hated the look of this place. The whole thing looked like it was going to crumble down and don't even start on the stench of mold. The rooms inside were better thank god, but not by much. At least it wasn't covered in mold, well for the most part anyway. Rowan dropped her bag by her single bed and sat waiting for everyone else so they could begin the meeting.
About a half hour later the nine witches were all gathered in the same room.
"Hi, uh, ok thanks everyone for coming. I called in everyone because I think we need to get a plan of action. Now I don't think we should do much tonight outside of making sure we can sleep safely. I think its best we have some of us check the perimeter and then have someone keep watch throughout the night on top of magic locks and all that.
"Tomorrow, while the sun is up, I think its best we try to figure out just how much of this town has been taken over. They probably already know our faces, so I will work on the Circle of Shifting Guises ritual tomorrow." Rowan looked meekly at Summer who was across the room. "I could, um, use your help with it Summer. Same goes to anyone else who is good with rituals."
A bread and butter illusion ritual that takes 4 hours to complete. It leaves a circle on the ground, which only requires a witch to step inside and say a few words to disguise themselves.
Effects of disguise last 1 to 2 hours based on the quality of chalk used. Rowan has higher quality chalk.

Oliver is quite introverted, but is quite capable of socialization. He tends to make himself go into social situations as he knows he needs to improve on his communication both in and outside of missions.
Ollie has an unusual outlook on missions and by extension his time at Prom. He does this for entertainment, he seems to display minimal interest in the tangible duties and benefits of the job in comparison to other students eg Ivy League set ups and a duty to save the world. This isn't to say he isn't driven to succeed, quite the opposite. Ollie is takes every opportunity to learn and improve his craft and take failures rather gravely outside of training scenarios. He has been known to request footage of training scenarios to review and endlessly study.

B R I E F B I O Oliver grew up in Amity, Maine. That about sums up his early life. To put it simply he was a big fish in a very small and mundane pond. He didn't struggle with his subjects and he didn't care a great deal for sports, so he ended up with a lot of free time. He played around with various hobbies to pass the time and was quickly drawn to technology, strategy games, and weird indie music. And while the last of those three ended up being a strange phase, the other two remain some of his top passions to this day.
But in the time and place he was in, this all meant nothing. Amity, Maine isn't exactly known for producing brilliant engineers and the sort. That was for a good reason, there is nothing there. Looking at the prospect of his potential being wasted, Oliver decided he needed to make a statement. He always heard about men in black and stories like that, maybe he could be loud enough for them to hear.
In a particular classified location, all security cameras went off at once. Oliver, using some homebrewed tools, was able to make his way into the security room. In the adrenaline of it all succeeding, he didn't question why the room was empty. All he did was count down until the cameras would come back online. When they did he would have his arms up leaving the facility untouched aside from the fact that he was now inside. 5... 4... he couldn't help the smile spreading across his face 3... 2... he feel unconscious.
Oliver woke up in an interrogation room. PROM explained to him that they had been watching him for a while. They knew about his plan and laxed up on security to make it more possible. I was a test. They then gave him an offer. It was an offer he couldn't refuse.

Burrow Cams: A device that can burrow through a wide range of surfaces offering visual on the other side.tle dart.
Tracker Mites: A gun that can fire small tracking chips. Due to their incredibly small size they are difficult to notice when attached, but they cannot emit a powerful signal so their emission range is quite low. While not immune to EMP, they are designed to operate well under sudden shut off and restart conditions making them resistant.

Grading
Strength: C-
While capable and fit for the average teen, he does not stack up very well compared to other Prom students. He is not particularly strong or fast.
Intelligence: A
He makes standard high school subjects seem like a cake walk. He does not need to study long hours to grasp subjects at all.
Close-Quarters Combat: D
His lack of strength and speed hinder him greatest here. Although he is able to read his opponents moves sufficiently, he is unable to capitalize on it because of his lack of ability. His attacks are slow and can be easily read compared to other students.
Firearms: B-
He has memorized effective ranges and can count magazines to the last bullet to most firearms in the armory. However, this does not make up for his sub par ability to aim. He is suited to close range firearms like shotguns.
Concealment and Disguise: B+
Good capabilities with concealment given the option he is much more capable of this. His disguises could use some more work particularly in his voice work.
Strategic Thinking/Leadership: A-
Can make up solid plans on the spot and can execute them effectively. He has some trouble communicating his ideas.
Mental Agility/Intuition: A+
With a change of situation, he can formulate and execute a new plan at the drop of a hat. In test simulations, he could only be caught out by events that weren't logically possible.
Hacking/Computer Operation: B
While he is capable, he ends up being only average at this. In his words 'I would rather pull out the plug than bother with all this'. This, of course, is not always the best course of action.
Observation/Interrogation: C+
Struggles to read body movement in an interrogation setting. Additionally, he isn't very capable on intimidation.
Linguistics: C+
He knows French quite well in theory but his pronunciation needs work.
Teamwork/Cooperation: B
Capable of team work and following orders, until he disagrees with them. If a plan outright fails, he has a tendency to revert to his own plans. These negatives however are not frequent enough to give a lower grade.
Binx
Static and Binx constantly butt heads on missions. He gives out orders in accordance to his plan and she ignores them. For good reason, Static is younger than her and fails to communicate many details of his plans.
This changes outside of missions, they get along out of an equal interest in developing tech and devices.
"I mean yeah, I think up a flawless plan and she just goes off and does her own thing. That can be frustrating. But when it comes to being back at Prom, honestly I take notes on her approach to design. It seems effortless to her and she can make the same thing at the same power with cheaper components. Shes clearly done a lot more hands on learning with this kind of stuff. Where I was just hitting the books at home for the longest time. So yeah when I see a place I can improve, I take notes."
Bug
Static and Bug have a mutual understanding of making each others lives harder through constant pranks and jokes on each other.
"People who say that bugs can't do harm clearly don't know history. Every time a group of people are working on crops or keeping cattle, a big swarm of bugs come in to ruin the day. Its why coding mistakes are called bugs and its probably why Agent Bug took that codename. I can't tell you how many times I have been working on some digital gizmo and its suddenly turns off or starts to blink weird colors. Only for me to look across the room and see Em laughing. Its half the reason I work in analog as well now. You might ask why this does bother me? Well, its because I do the same shit right back.
Aster and Honey
The are a few agents which Ollie would prefer to keep relations strictly professional.
"Whether its being intimidated by them or if they just bum me out. I don't think its in my best interested to get close. On second thought its a mix of both."
Kingfisher
While the two keep pleasant out of mission relations, Static appreciates Kingfisher during a mission a lot more.
"What is there to say. He is good at dispatching people and can operate in a team well, there isn't a better person to have on a team. He could lighten up a bit though."
Babel
The two are both willing and able to help each other in areas of spy life that the other is struggling in. They also play strategy games together and Carmen has even managed to get him to branch out to other games.
"Carmen, yeah, shes quite a popular for a new recruit huh. I mean she didn't get nearly as much of a hazing as I did last year. Mind you its probably for the best, the seniors last year had some dickheads. Anyway yeah Carmen, shes cool. I don't hang out with her as much as some of the others but when we do its a good time."
Wahrheit
Static's opinions on Eric change depending if its on a mission or not. Out of missions their interactions are generally pleasant if a bit sparse with the occasional game of chess (which Static loses the majority of). But on mission, Ollie has no way to describe it outside of being afraid of the guy.
"I mean its not as if we don't get along on missions. We convene a lot when it comes to an initial plan. Two heads better than one and all. Plus he is the perfect eye on the outside with a good vantage point. But he is just so stern and cold all the time. It kind of bums me out man. Oh and don't even get me started on the interrogation thing. I won't stay in the same room while he's doing it. Never have, never will. You see him bring in tough guys, like tough guys. They just don't come out the same. So yeah I'm scared of him. If I was ever in a situation where I had to be question by him, I can't imagine."

Strategy/Planning: Any situation, any challenge, any twist. Ollie has a plan and some things up his sleeve.
Disruption: "Make them blind, deaf, and mute. Then they don't have a hope of winning."
G A D G E T S
EMP Grenades: These grenades emit a pulse that disables electronics for a very short time. But it forces every system in the area to restart which can be disastrous for larger systems. They can be put on a timer.
Comms jammers: These are devices that can be set up on any surface. As long as they remain functional only a very small bandwidth of frequencies may pass through in an area around it. These are set to allow PROM comms to pass through.
The feedback to a tablet on Static's forearm that can read the position of the tracker. Static often gets someone else to shoot the gun due to his lack of aim. While not immune to EMP, they are designed to operate well under sudden shut off and restart conditions making them resistant.
Field Medic Kit: After a few too many allies getting wounds in the field, Ollie thought it nessecary to learn the medical field. Well, at least enough to patch people up. He is still learning.
Having backed up since antagonizing Scorch, Blue had stayed around near the back doing his best to look like he didn't care. It was quite the opposite however. The Pokemon here didn't see only directly in front of them like his friends. They had goals and interests outside of the next theft or fight thats going to keep them feed. It was encouraging. Made him think that his decision could be right after all.
But it was his time to step to the plate and introduce himself.
"My names Blue, because of my blue skin. Its not very creative I know. I have been in a good deal of fights since coming to this city, among other things. I've won some, I've lost some, but I have proven myself on that front. I'm here to see what all the fuss is about. Yeah thats about all I have to say."
Starbright strode out of the plain and onto the docks. He treated the whole thing more or less like a cat walk, despite the lack of media. It was almost alien to him, the feeling of not being watched through a lense. He couldn't really say that he had ever taken a proper vacation. Sure he had been around the world plenty of times, but that was always for a tour or an interview. He never had much time to explore around before it was off to the next location. Unless of course, it was to post a picture of himself at some land mark on social media. Not like he was complaining of course, Starbright loved his job and couldn't imagine a world without it. But now he was looking at multiple weeks away from it. Which may leave someone to question, why was he here?
Well it was quite simple, Starbright couldn't go up from where he was. His whole life he had lived with the thought that there would always be another mountain to climb. But now he was at the top with his whole life ahead of him. What else could he do? Starbright dreaded the thought of stagnation. In his industry that just meant slowly fading away. So lost for answers or purpose, he looked toward other industry legends and came out of it with two options. Alcoholism and hard drugs, or a vacation. So a vacation sounded nice and now here he is, relaxing... he guessed. It was still an uncomfortable feeling for him but it had to be done. Maybe he could think up the next stage of his life here.
Starbright was wore red trunks, black flip flops, and aviators. The only thing covering his chest was the white and blue towel he had draped over both shoulders. The bag he carried off the plane is just as big as you would expect. "Well if you don't mind, I am going to get myself packed in. As you can see there is a lot to pack. After that though, I will be back playing beach volleyball. In case, anyone feels like losing." He said with a confident smile.
Starbright started to head off on his merry way to his villa before turning around with slight furrowed brow as if he was thinking. "Or winning if you're on my team. I don't know if I made that clear..." He begun to turn around before turning back yet again with a confident smile "the point is I will be winning." Starbright then finally walked off proceeding to his living arrangements. He needed to work on his friendly smack talk.
Christina had put to rest Yui's thought about a copycat killer by mentioning the Baron's powers being the 'murder weapon' so to speak. It saved one avenue that needed to be investigated sure. But it also mean there was no way she was avoiding the boat.
"I'm sorry but do I know you? Are you one of the new transfer Heroes I heard about?"
Unlike the ask about peoples connections to the gangs, Yui was prepared for this one. "Well I'm not surprised you don't know me. I've been here for a few years now, but I haven't really made myself known. It was really after the whole EAGLES thing that I decided to change that. HERO needing more heroes and all. I thought I might as well start making a name for myself, instead of letting some exchange hero do it for me." Yui turned her head toward Brooke, she of course didn't mean it as a negative and tried to keep it more positive. "I mean no offense of course Ms McMaimKill, I'm sure you will do great here as well." She said with a smile then turned back to Alpha. "But yeah, I've kept my head out of the way. I shouldn't have any problems."
"Which reminds me. Lets face it, I'm not exactly going to pass for an Irish gangster now am I. I'm not really cut out for being a fake hostage either. So just let me look out for my own disguise. You could say that this sort of thing is an unofficial power of mine anyway." The best lies come from telling the truth, or at least thats what she heard anyway.
Yui was nervous. She was called in for a meeting in HERO One and she had to pretend as if she has been here before. The tower was a winding vertical maze without a person she could call to help find directions. Yui's best shot at navigating the building was the occasional map and room markers. She eventually found the meeting room, but had arrived late. Yui quietly took a seat near the back and leaned back on it, trying to give off a look of experience. But that was far from the case. Yui was nervous. Without the ability to smoke in HERO One, she resorted to twirling a dagger continuously around her hand under the desk. Smoking was a bad habit anyway.
The twirl of the dagger grew gradually faster as the meeting went along. Her first mission could not have been worse for her. An undercover mission into a gang meet up seemed like a nightmare. And for what? Some geriatric hero hunter. He probably doesn't have much left in him until his hips give out anyway. But a mission is a mission, she wasn't about to screw up this gig now with some petty fears. Besides, outright rejecting a mission like this would be a bad look.
The Black Baron was something else though. While the man was before her time, she sure as hell heard of him while she was in the Devils. As far as anyone knew, he was did not have any powers. Well it would just be assumed, it would be mighty hypocritical from him to go around taking care of poison with poison. But for an unpowered person to take down that many heroes and even give Powers a run for his money? Yeah you could say he was a legend. Any nobody goon off the street could hear the tale and think they could be the next Black Baron. The motives for his attacks never came up to much in the stories, so it was easy to place yourself in the shoes and think you could do the same. Still, Yui was surprised to hear that he was back after 35 years. The boogeyman walks again, or was he?
Yui's brow furled ever so slightly at hearing Alpha's speech. Although she didn't know the guy and knew for a certainty he didn't know her past, she couldn't help but feel like it was directed toward her. "With all due respect Mr... Sorry I didn't catch your name. We all have some 'dirty laundry' with these people. I assume most of us has had a brush with them, and quite a few have put their guys away to Coldwater. Hell, some here even toppled the Guglianos." She tipped her head over to Blake's direction before continuing. "For one reason or another, I think we all have our faces on these peoples' radar. We just have to make our covers good."
Yui didn't recognize what this sheet was, but she saw the space to write a name up the top. The Koshiki Witch, she was going to use her old identity. She never really told the Devils she was leaving. Yui just disappeared without a trace. It would be easy enough to convince them that something else happened. Then for the other heroes, she can just convince them that her cover is really good. That's the only way she was going to get through all this without either side trying to get her.
"Besides how do we know it isn't just a copycat killer? Seems a lot more reasonable to me that some upstart is trying to fill the shoes of the Black Baron than some geezer trying to start up his youthful years again."
