I've got this obsession of having all the statuses on my profile page with more than 2 likes. I know that when the wailing winds of darkness come for me, these thumbs up will keep them away!

The Fury’s gun powered up, spinning to maximum speed and filling the air with the rapid cracking of small arms fire, Amaranth adopting a wide stance and holding her elbow in one hand to steady her shot as she mowed down the small Grimm trying to climb over the wall currently trumping their ability to move forward. Well, mowed down was the wrong word—the Fury’s cannon wasn’t exactly a weapon of delicacy, the power of each shot doing more blasting backward than precision killing if she scored a direct hit. Luckily, accuracy wasn’t exactly an issue with as many Grimm as there were. She pumped her fist, the action triggering the barrels to spit out a few spent cartridges and reloading her weapon before it stopped rotating and slid back into the sleeve.

Her spear and shield rattled out, her first strike spitting a Grimm, spinning the unfortunate monster and lance, then throwing it off her spear to knock another one back. Her semblance cranked up, her motions seeming to increase in speed as her reactions hastened, knocking a few more Grimm away.

“Entire fight is ass, Negasi?” Amy asked as she shield-bashed a few back. One of the Grimm had gotten over the wall and was coming at her from the left, too fast for her to get her spear back in time— “Don’t know how right you are.” A quick sway to the side and Amy’s hips hit the Grimm square on, the rapidity of her motion and force delivered knocking the surprised creature far enough away to skewer it and fling it away. She winked at the other girl, then went back to defending the wall, smashing another with the flat of her blade.
If I get time I'm def entering, Write. But MCI has to come first, God knows I've been neglectful.
Alright guys, something of an explanation.

Evidently being an academically gifted student means bookoos of extra paperwork for literally everything you do. I didn't realize last time I posted that something I thought was done would rear its ugly head once more (yay for being a presidential scholar nominee). That's done now, and barring five nights worth of physics homework (that's thursday night :D) I should have something done tomorrow night. Y'all are the best, thanks for putting up with me.
Amaranth Desire, Far above the World

"No disrespect, but I got this." She lifted her arm, aiming Fury's right sleeve up at the ceiling of the hallway and launching the spear head at maximum velocity. Trying to grapple into the wall or the floor would be foolhardy--both were meant to take stress. The ceiling, on the other hand, was only meant to cover the rafters behind it, which--with any luck--she would hit. And with a chunk, the Fury grabbed hold, immediately retracting to become taut. Amy smirked and saluted. "Periscope up, cap!" she exclaimed, jumping into space, the Fury's engine taking hold as her initial upward momentum diminished, pulling her up to the hall.

She landed gracefully, the Fury's chain releasing and retreating into her sleeve. "Pass the first one up, Ben." Amy wasn't terribly strong, but with Ben's strength and the "cargo" helping she could manage to bring them up.
I'm back. Sorry for the absence, I've been dealing with some jazz.
@Cherry_Shield: Looks good! Hope your return to RPing goes well. Just be aware of a few limitations of magic:

Direct action of magic on mechs tends to be somewhat ineffective, as their focusing cores drain magic out of the environment. So her dropping a rock on a mech would be as effective as always, but actually causing one to vanish would take a lot of power.

Same deal goes for mind reading and mind control. A mech would protect its pilot.

Otherwise, as long as you play by my rules, you're good to go! Welcome to the party.

I've been loaded down with schoolwork so Talia is slow in coming, but hopefully I'll have time today.
Aright, so am I clear to move over to character with the necessary additions of what the suit does?

Yep, though I will say... Silvan was talking to me earlier, and it seems I forgot something about mages. Namely, I mentioned at one point that you guys can actually have spirits if you so choose.

So those of you who have already had mages approved (Gecko and @Caasicam) can add a spirit if you run it by me first. Keep in mind that since you don't have a robotic suit, the abilities will be somewhat different from your mech compatriots.

Of course, if you want to go the tech only route and have a focusing implant, you don't need one.

@Silvan Haven: You're good.

EDIT: Also, I've talked to Dax and he's still around, just busy moving.
@Caasicam You're approved bro.

Some interesting character dynamics we've got going on. XD
"Trainees!"

Erikal Slin's voice rang through the early morning light, the recognizable figure of the division Commander walking in his easy stride along the front lines of the assembled recruits for the inaugural class of the Mecha Carta Institute. It was cold outside, but in the heated and glassed-in courtyard of the Institute, it was comfortable enough for the students to be wearing t-shirts and shorts. Most of the soldiers currently on the field only barely knew how to drive a mech, much less fight in one--but with any luck, the far more rigorous, MECH-focused combat training the new trainees would undergo at the Institute would translate to a higher amount of competence on the battlefield. He stopped, turning to them.

"I'm not one for speeches, so I'll keep this brief. Whatever previous accolades or background you might have, no matter where you came from or what caused you to enter Institute... None of you can dwell on your histories here, I won't accept it. Resting on your laurels won't help anyone, and it sure as hell won't make me happy."

One hand rose, in a jabbing point at the students, his elbow slightly bent. "Whether you like it or not, this is a clean slate for all of you. Show me what you can do, and how great of a pilot you are. I don't give a damn about what people you were."

Commander Slin paused, straightening, and dropped his hand to his side, hoping his grimace wasn't too visible. They were all so green, only one person with actual military experience... But they didn't have options, they didn't have time.

He raised his voice again. "Welcome to hell, kids. The job starts tomorrow, 9 AM sharp, unless some of you want to go look at each other's MECHs in the hanger. For now, have some fun. Those of you with MECHs provided by the government will need to see me before class tomorrow morning."

He turned and walked away, leaving them to get to know each other and the Institute. He couldn't instill them with loyalty to their comrades. They'd have to do that on their own.
@The 42nd Gecko: Yeah, you could have some kind of field that would prevent power drain, but it'd likely be on a time limit. Since it couldn't very well be powered with her magic (that'd kinda defeat the purpose) you'd have to have an in suit power source that would run out. Tech and everything will be upgraded as time goes on, don't worry.

Also, just to clarify: Charging the power required for one of her super powerful punches would cancel her cloaking. But since you're already at extremely close range at that point, I don't think that would be a big issue.

Working on the IC opener as we speak. It shouldn't take long, Erikal's not one for speeches.
