Funny thing about combat. Moving, retreating, attacking--everything you do opens you up to the right opponent, if they've got the means and knowledge to take advantage of it. Of course... That gets a lot easier if the opposition can see everything you do in high definition slow motion. The Manticore was moving its ponderous mass off of the roof, tail sweeping...
And the Huntress was already in motion. Regardless of what Ben was doing, she'd seen an opening. While the creature was spinning and repositioning itself, she was already running toward it, aiming-and stabbing the spear's butt at the ground near the Manticore's left paw, using the end to vault onto the appendage and land with something approaching grace, if not action movie swagger.
She could already hear a "girl knows how to work the pole" jab emanating from Lauren's general direction. The faunus wasn't entirely sure there wasn't a joke about her slightly above knee length boots coming on the ether as well, but she could tolerate that one, seeing as the thick leather was shielding her skin from the poison coating the Manticore's fur.
Before the creature could react--as the normally quadrupedal animal would have to balance before it could swipe at her--she was in motion again, running up the limb and right at the creature's face, looking for all intents and purposes like she was going to strike at it, despite the bone plating... Only to dodge to the size, the spikes of the creature's mane too big to impale her as she made a run for the massive spines coming from the Manticore's back, finally reaching one and getting a clear shot behind her--
Now, it would have time to react, only to find the Fury launched at maximum power toward the unarmored back of its head at maximum power and velocity, only 10-15 feet away for a powering mechanism used to firing at stone at over 40.
