Iris watched quietly as the the group introduced themselves. She had the tendency of being an observer in social situations. She told herself that it was because she communicated with her actions, rather than her words. But in reality, it was simply because she was awkward when things didn't involve fighting or crafting. Still, everyone looked very capable and strong. This may be the best the continent had to offer in these troubling times.
Well, at least she has the chance to see for herself exactly how capable they are. As the guards came into the courtyard, Iris took out her beloved Wakizashi and got into a fighting stance. Some sort of swarm of small monsters were attacking the kingdom and the guards did not seem to be handling it well. Fortunately, the swarm had broken down into smaller swarms by the human's magic, but now two swarms in particular were coming towards Iris and two others who happen to be nearby.
The wooden one casted some sort of spell that seem to cast the swarm on fire. It didn't seem to do any damage but it definitely made it easier for Iris to run up to the closest swarm and slash at it with her short sword.
Appearance: On the more petite side, Ferris stands at barely 5 feet tall. They like to insist that they haven't hit their growth spurt yet, but only time will tell if they are still growing or not. Their skin is naturally pale, and they tend to burn in the sun rather than tan. Their purple eyes always look tired with intense bags underneath them. They like to accessorize themselves in edgy teenage jewelry like chains and dark crystals. Their hair is always intentionally messy, unless their mom gets a hand on them and combs it neatly for them. But even that only lasts for a second before they mess up their hair again. Ferris has no real piercings yet, but as soon as they turn 18, they will get so many. Tattoos too!
Personality: Ferris prefers the company of animals over the company of people. That isn't to say that they cannot get along with other people, they just find it draining to have to be around humans. They feel like they can be themselves around animals, while people tend to judge or ask questions or in the worst case, bully and tease. They put up a wall around people they do not trust and can come across as cold or uninterested. However, once someone gets through that wall, they will find that the real Ferris is actually very expressive and begrudgingly kind.
Ferris loves pulling harmless pranks though. When Ferris becomes comfortable, they become more mischievous and can easily lie with a serious or innocent face. This is because Ferris has 3 older siblings who all love to play pranks on each other. Ferris may joke that it was their siblings' love language. Because of their love for pranks, Ferris is a bit more observant than others as one must be to avoid all of the shenanigans their siblings may pull. They are also very adaptive to most situation, as one might become when an example of an idea of a prank from their sibling is tying them to the top of the roof while they were asleep.
Background:
Mother-- Alice Arquette, 50, graduated from the Quandrix College Father-- Felix Arquette, 51, graduated from the Quandrix College Oldest Brother-- Steele Arquette, 25, graduated from the Quandrix College Second Brother-- Stone Arquette, 21, graduated from the Quandrix College Third Brother-- Mica Arquette, 19, graduated from the Quandrix College
Ferris Arquette was born "Ferra Arquette" and was a biological female. The baby of a well-to-do family of 6, Ferris always felt loved. And while their older siblings were obnoxious, they never made Ferris feel bad about themselves. Especially when they came out as nonbinary. Their older siblings did their best to make sure that Ferris never felt like a weirdo, and always tried to understand Ferris and their gender journey. Of course, they had to deal with their good share of bullies, but Ferris could ignore it for the most part, knowing that their family had their back.
Ferris comes from a long line of mages, and each of their sibling is also a mage. Each of their sibling has attended Strixhaven and has already graduated, leaving the young Ferris as the last Arquette child to attend the school. Ferris was worried that they would not have magic at all. Their family assured them that they would most likely be a mage just like them and that even if that wasn't the case, they would still love them just the same.
One day, as Ferris was sitting by themself in the backyard, a cat approached Ferris. "Aren't you a good kitty," they cooed as they were playing with it.
"A good kitty? How patronizing!" it scoffed back.
"Y-you can talk?" Ferris asked, stunned.
"Well, yes. But you seem to be the odd one for being able to understand me."
Before anything else, Ferris ran back into the house and told their mom that they met a talking cat. Slightly confused, their mother went to the backyard and saw the normal cat.
"Okay, talk to my mom," Ferris commanded.
"Rude. No please?" the cat snapped back.
"Did you hear it, Mom?" Ferris turned to his mother and asked. But she shook her head. Finally Ferris pieced it together and realized that they had magic -- wild speak and was able to communicate with animals.
After their family found out about their abilities, they gifted them their wand. Ferris themselves, doesn't know how their family obtained their wands, but their parents insist that they will tell them one day when they are ready. "A family friend," they would say with a knowing smirk. Ferris didn't know much about their wand, but they cherished it.
The broom, Ferris picked out on their own on a family shopping trip. They were 11 and all they knew they wanted was they wanted something fast so they could beat their siblings in a race. The Bolting 4000 caught their eye, and this one in particular came in with black bristles and a purple shaft. After a bit of begging and puppy dog eyes, Ferris was able to convince their parents to buy it for them. Who could resist the baby of the family?
Ferris is deathly afraid of the ocean. Swimming was fine, but something about the ocean -- bottomless, black, unknown. It didn't help that they nearly drowned when they were a kid, and got swept out by a huge wave. Fortunately, they were saved by their father, but Ferris never outgrew that fear.

"Yes, I know that working here isn't your dream but hey, it pays the bills and it keeps your family happy, right? You have to work now and you can always enjoy your life later when you retire."
Name: Yama, Sloth
Age: About 3,000 years ago, give or take a couple hundred of years
Race: Demon
Appearance: Devilishly handsome, pun intended. He looks about 30-40 years old with lovely pale skin that is clean shaven, red eyes, and onyx hair. He is usually only seen wearing a full black suit that he pairs with his many different red ties. His face look very gentle, but his eyes are more intense. He is very tall, standing at 6"1, but his shoes have a slight lift that make him closer to 6"2.
In the past, he was more "scary" looking. He was known for his red face and long beard. He has changed his appearance as the times has changed. Being good looking had more benefits now than being scary.
Personality: In the past, Yama has been seen as a ruthless judge who punishes those who had sinned. He has given many harsh punishments such as tongue removal, skin peeling, etc without any remorse. However, he grew tired of the torture and wanted to do something else. In modern times, he is a charismatic leader who is able to convince his workers to work overtime and attend "team building" activities that distract them from their real goals in life.
He couldn't be described as morally evil or good. His job is to punish sinners, and while he does take some joy in it, is it really evil if they deserve it? He is also "punishing" them so that in their next life they can start anew. Maybe in reality, he has a deep love for humans. He is doing everything for their sake, but even he doesn't fully know why he does what he does. Begrudgingly, as he works with humans now, he has witnessed their humanity first hand, and his heart has softened... somewhat. It seemed that even he was shirking away from his responsibilities of punishing humans as he became more focus on redeeming the living.
Background:
Yama wasn't the first demon, but he definitely was not the last. He is well known in Buddhism as the ruler of hell. In reality, he only ruled a small sector of it, but he was still a big time demon. In wanting to be more efficient in his soul cleansing, he pitched the idea of punishing humans in their life cycles rather than when they die. So it became his job to seek out sinful souls of the living and to give them a chance to become a better person next time without the gruesome punishments.
Over the years, he was able to develop a company, whose main job is ambiguous at best, and none of the employees really know what it is that they do. All they know is that they work long hours for somewhat good pay. Yama has recruited people of various backgrounds, all with sins that they need to work out. They also do a lot of charity events which helps with their karmic balance. In their employment causes, they are not allowed to leave their job until they balance their karma and will have to pay a hefty fine if they try to end their termination early. He prevents those from following their dreams or doing things that they are meant to do in life by making them do busy work instead.
When a being called The Detective reached out to call Yama, he initially thought it was a prank and hung up. When the Detective showed up in his office, he wanted to call security, but something about the Detective made him stop and listen to what they had to say. After much thought, Yama decided to go along with the Detective's plan. Innocents didn't need to be punished, but these Outcasts definitely did.
Skills and Abilities:
Mundane: Human Resource He has a very large staff base all over the world that is willing to do almost anything (within reason) for him for paid overtime.
Mundane: Charm He is a very charismatic person who can persuade most people to do anything. He can also lie and manipulate others very well.
Magic: Contracts His contracts are magical and if one isn't careful, one could accidentally sell their soul to the devil. Must be signed with his magic pen though to be valid.
Magic: Demonic Power He has the ability to channel and control demonic power. This allows him to transform to his demon form and control hellfire. In that form, it also increases his physical strength and speed. But because of his peaceful life in the human world, he has not taken this form in a very long time and may struggle with reawakening.
Magic: Fire manipulation He has the ability to create fire and manipulate it. He mostly uses it now to light candles, but it has its combat uses.
Weakness:
Holy Water, or other types of Holy tools and magic It quite literally burns him.
Can't step into a church For obvious reasons and see above
Bound to contracts and agreements He is pretty good at finding loop holes, but is not immune to being tricked into a contract that would be unfavorable for him and does have to comply with it.
Equipment:
Magic Pen He has the ability to summon it, but he has it on him at all times in case he needs to form a contract
Extra change of clothes In case of emergencies such as coffee stains or needing to change into his Demonic form (they rip), as one must always look presentable
Pocket Knife It was a gift, but one never knows when one might need a knife
Quips: "We're a family at this company!" "We're all in this together!" Inspired by the quotes, "The devil finds work for idle hands" and "The devil is working hard, but I'm working harder" and "The devil will try and do everything possible to stop and distract us from our purpose."

Out of curiosity, what is everyone else thinking of playing? I'm thinking of playing a Lesser Sloth that is a workaholic that avoids things that actually needs to be done by doing work instead.
"I am not in need of anything now that you have satisfied my curiosity," Iris replied with a smile. She could not help but admire the Smith and his ability to create about anything one would need."I will leave you to your work then."
Although she wanted to ask him more questions and request something, she left the Smith, not wanting to take up more of his precious time. She did not need anything at the moment, and felt that it would be rude to come with a request when he is already so busy.
Her eyes scanned the marketplace once more but nothing else caught her attention. She decided to head towards the Palace, strolling through the wide path. As she reached the Palace Courtyard, she saw a variety of different people. In particular, the fellow Zephyrite with the funny "mustache". She wondered if they were also here for the Summons.
