As my title alludes to I'm a student. I'm currently studying for my BA in History and Ancient History. I love diving into lore be it that of the past, or whether it be the brilliant product of the human imagination.

But just as fun I find is picking lore apart and making something new with it, and that's what draws me to good role-plays. Those little references shaped into new forms are really what helps to keep me hooked, just as much as good writing.

@Jbcool Haha, glad to see some other 40k fans around here.

Nice Plo Koon avatar, I did always think he was one of the more interesting Jedi, been a while since I revised my star wars lore though.
@Lady Amalthea Hmm 'spose that would do it, don't think I'm quite prepared for that. Besides whilst I'm used to things with a bit of a faster pace, things are always more interesting with more characters. If waiting more is the price one pays then I guess that's a price I can pay.
@Lady Amalthea Is there no mechanism by which one can keep an RP relatively fast and active then? More like a face to face table top RP in regards to pace?
So with Fallout 4 coming out soon, I was wondering any other Fallout fans here who might be interested in taking part in rather an informal RP set in the Fallout universe?

I've got a couple of ideas thus far for a general plot, but I'm open to suggestions.

1) Participants are members of an Enclave squad who's vertibird was shot down on the way from Navarro to Raven Rock. The RP will be about this squad of soldiers trying to make their way to Raven Rock to make contact with the Enclave once more.

2) Some of us take on the role of Synths who've escaped the Commonwealth and are trying to make our escape together. Then a few others take on the role of the Synth Retention Bureau.

Just a couple of rough ideas like I say, I'd be interested to hear what other Fallout themed RP's people think we could run.
@Lady Amalthea I am suddenly seeing why you said slice of madness earlier!
The wait is killing me, the characters thus far have all proven to be so interesting, even from so little!
Amon stepped from the merchants boat into the port of the seaside town. It was relatively late in the day so the docks were almost abandoned. He could hear a raucous din coming from one of the buildings and he guessed that the dockers could no doubt be found there. They're probably boring the poor ol' barkeep to death thought Amon.

As he started to walk across the quiet docks, Amon noticed the odd looks he was getting. His foreign garb made him stand out like a sore thumb, so he pulled up his hood and walked slowly trying not to draw attention to himself.

Now, he thought where can I find a quiet spot? As he walked Amon passed a lady selling flowers to the locals, she provided him the perfect distraction and he was able to walk past without being noticed. Looking over his shoulder he darted into an alleyway and making sure he wasn't being watched took out his scrying glass.

The small object sat in the palm of his hand, the black leather of his gloves playing against the familiar edges and runes. The scrying glass was shaped like a flower of sorts, the centre was hexagonal with six triangular petals each bearing a single rune at the edges.

Amon breathed deeply before clasping the scrying glass, he started to utter an incantation under his breath. He closed his eyes and his back arched.

Before him a man, not in his place... his purpose strong but unknown, his cloth and role new.

Amon gasped his eyes darting open for the briefest moment before closing once more.

A rider, he was honourable but confused... he was not like the first... he sought purpose reason.

Amon's eyes opened once more and he inhaled sharply as his eyes closed again.

A lady, elegant and nimble stood before the rider... she stood above the town looking down... knowledge he could sense it about her, it swarmed around her...

Amon snapped back into his body gasping, he breathed heavily and placed the scryng glass now red hot into its black case before reattaching it to his belt. Amon looked about once more, and immediately saw the castle looming over the town he now stood in. He wondered... might he find the rider and the lady there, or would he be better served finding this man who was out of place? Amon, after a moment's thought resolved to try and kill two birds with one stone and set about making his way towards the castle, trying to make sense of what his visions had shown him.
Name: Amon
Race: Human
Appearance
Proffesion: Court Scholar and Mage
Possessions: A number of ancient tomes, scrying glass, quill and ink, molter and pestle, single sword
Skills/Magic/Talents:
Master of Many Tongues: Through his service to many courts, and his long studies Amon has become fluent in many languages, and has become a good rhetorician.

Biomancer: Amon is able to use his magical talents to manipulate the biology of those around him. He can heal wounds and other ailments, enhance inherent biological traits or manifest the raw electricity of his nervous system as lightning against his opponents.

Foresighted: Amon is able to read the future to a limited degree. By focussing his talents and using his scrying glass he is able to discern some elements of the immediate future. His visions are by no means obvious things, often shrouded in symbolism that will take him some time to decypher. However this is not an ability he will use lightly, the toll it takes on him is great and he is fearful of mockery and scorn if he proves wrong.

Demeanour: Amon is a quiet sort, long hours of study have left him extremely articulate, however he has not made much use of his skill with rhetoric. There are few things he enjoys more than exploration and learning being an extremely inquisitive soul. When he isn't studying he can usually be found diligently practising with his sword Mephret or practising the use of his powers (although he always does the latter in secret). Above all else though Amon is an honourable man, who values trust and loyalty before all other virtues.

History: Born the son of a merchant Amon's home was destroyed and his family enslaved when he was very young. When he was 6 he was smuggled away from his captors, but his parents were killed in the attempt.

Following this incident he went on to study at the Great Library of Maldran. Here Amon developed his skills as a scholar learning to read and write and spending much of his time in lengthy study.

At the age of 21 he left the library and came to serve the masters of many noble houses selling his skills as a scholar and interpreter. Misery struck his life once more at the age of 24 however, when his master was assassinated before his eyes. Amon attacked the assassin assailing him with a volley of lightning and almost managed to kill the attacker who narrowly escaped. Following the event he was ordered to leave the household however, for the family blamed Amon for the masters death (Amon realised they blamed his powers, and since that time has tried to keep them hidden).

Subsequently Amon has wondered the country adventuring and doing small jobs to get by, he has found himself evermore reliant upon his skills with a sword, but is hesitant to use his powers even in self defence.
@Lady Amalthea
How might one slot the character into CS Tab? Just copy paste I presume?

Also what's this about various rotations? You mention it in the opening rules and it's not something I've seen before.
