Salutations and Felicitations!

As my title alludes to I'm a student. I'm currently studying for my BA in History and Ancient History. I love diving into lore be it that of the past, or whether it be the brilliant product of the human imagination.

But just as fun I find is picking lore apart and making something new with it, and that's what draws me to good role-plays. Those little references shaped into new forms are really what helps to keep me hooked, just as much as good writing.

@Knight of Doom Would I be able to hop in?
I'd be interested in giving this a try.

Some ideas for a setting perhaps a university or other large academic establishment?
Bump
@OneWayOut Well passion's always good for an RP.

But now that's all cleared up, you can get posting. :)
@OneWayOut Okay good, I didn't want to be too harsh as I see why it'd be a cool ability and you seem keen to take part. I just don't want to get any situations where your character just takes out all the opponents just by draining them.
@OneWayOut Okay I'll give you a compromise then. I let you keep the ability as is, however if I feel it's becoming excessive or too overpowered, we switch to the other version. Does that seem fair?
Whilst Understand that it limits the use of it, it is still possible. As it stands at the moment lets say you were fighting Cardin, you hit his mace. He blocks your attack, now all you have to do is stay there and drain him dry. If he holds his block he loses, if he tries to attack you you can quickly strike him repeatedly still drawing aura from him and damaging his aura with conventional attacks. It's the same if you fought someone with a shield like Jaune if he blocks you, you could simply stay and drain him dry.

If you have to make contact with a person however its a bit more balanced. Take yang for example, she has to punch people to do any major damage. That means getting in close getting around weapons etc even if just for a moment. This would be the same, you'd have to get under their guard and then all you have to do is touch them. That's before considering the additional bonus that the healing gives you in a competitive setting, especially as no other character has any way to heal.
@OneWayOut I just realised something actually. I've been re-watching RWBY whilst sorting this out and I've realised that your aura draining ability might unbalance things quite a bit more than I previously thought. Mainly because aura is used to determine whether or not a person can remain in a fight. So as it stands all your character would have to do is touch the enemy and they'd essentially be able to win the match rendering all blocking methods useless.

Perhaps instead of any form of contact being able to drain the victim you have to make physical contact with the person in question. Not merely their weapons, so that way you can still use your ability, but its just a little bit more balanced.

Atlas Academy

As you wake and get out of bed you look out of the window. The small porthole in the wall of the cabin you were assigned revealing mountainous terrain consisting of snow, rock and ice far below you.

As you continue to look around you see a few other airships moving around the sky and then you see it, looming out of the fog. A colossal fortress towering up from the tallest of the mountains crags and peaks, the grey stone is broken up by blue lighting and occasionally the red beam of a targeting laser.

'Attention attention' barks a gruff military voice over the ships tannoy system 'All first years are to report to the hanger deck for deployment. Repeat all first years are to report to the hanger deck immediately!'
Alright, give me some time to have breakfast and I should be able to get the intro fully rounded off and posted. You can expect it 09:30 GMT at the latest.
