Salutations and Felicitations!

As my title alludes to I'm a student. I'm currently studying for my BA in History and Ancient History. I love diving into lore be it that of the past, or whether it be the brilliant product of the human imagination.

But just as fun I find is picking lore apart and making something new with it, and that's what draws me to good role-plays. Those little references shaped into new forms are really what helps to keep me hooked, just as much as good writing.

Brian sat drinking calmly whilst looking at the menu. He scanned through the content, taking the occasional sip of konyak. Having finished reading the menu he reactivated the binary interface chip and began sifting through data again.

The odd item of interest slipped past him here and there, a business transaction or remark peaked his interest here and there. After a couple of minutes he snapped back to reality, a couple of senators, a lawyer, three doctors and film director... hmm what prestigious company he thought to himself. He picked up the menu again wanting to double check his order when a shadow fell across him.

He looked up to see who was blocking the light, he was slightly taken aback to see Arna standing there a subtle smile on her face and a piece of paper held outstretched in a quivering hand. He took the paper from her without speaking looking down at it seeing the email and phone number written on the back in neat hand writing. He looked up about to ask her to join him when he noticed that she was already leaving. Not so much as a how do you? he thought chuckling to himself.

A couple of hours later Brian paid his bill tipping the waiter for all his help and went outside to wait for Marc to turn up with the car. After another 10 minutes he was in the back of his black limousine heading back towards his penthouse apartment.

'So err, how'd it go sir?' asked Marc his typical lack of decorum making Brian laugh as always.
'Straight to the point with you isn't?' he replied jovially.
'Always sir, somebody's gotta remind you we aren't all well speaking like yourself.'
'I suppose so, I suppose so.' laughed Brian 'It went rather well I think Marc' he held up the note so that Marc could see it in the rear view mirror.
'Nicely done sir' remarked Marc nodding his head in appreciation.
'Thank you Marc, I suspect you might have a bit more work than usual in the coming months.'
'I'm not complaining sir.'
'Haha, good man.'

The rest of the journey home was spent like this, the two joking back and forth as they nearly always did. Of all his staff there was a small group that Brian considered to be indispensable and Marc, well, he was the leader of that group. Driver, bellboy, bodyguard, Brian wasn't quite sure what he'd do without the ex-soldier.

30 minutes later Brian sat at a computer terminal in a spacious penthouse flat. He sat with perfect posture, his fingers a blur darting across the keyboard in front of him. Whilst it would be quicker to deal with everything using the binary interface chip he did prefer to do things the old fashion way every now and then. He scanned through reports from various operations around the world, corrected snippets of new code and reviewed sales data. An alarm started chiming at him, he looked over at it, 04:00 showed on the clock. Brian rubbed his eyes, finally relenting. He locked down the terminal and after what had been the longest day for quite some time he collapsed into bed.
@Princeofhearts Don't see any reason why not, it's hardly as if we've been inundated with players as of yet.
Tacitus heard the door open behind him, he stood silently in the place he'd taken behind the woman sat in the chair. He'd known she was there before she cared to reveal herself. It was a habit of his to cast detect life whenever he entered a meeting of any import, but he'd kept his mouth shut waiting to see matters unfold.

He drew the gladius from its sheath at his waist and placed the blade on the woman's shoulder. 'I wouldn't be so glib, nor would I make demands if I were you.' he began, 'We need allies but you need us more than we need you, if need be the Empire can abandon this damned place and reclaim it later. Your order however, well I've dealt with that matter personally. This is it for you and your ilk.' He smiled behind the scarf that covered his face, when combined with the hood he wore all that could be seen of Tacitus was his piercing eyes. He kept them both trained on the assassin his sword ready to cut her neck at a moments notice.

'General Tullius Sir,' he said addressing the general, his eyes still levelled at the assassin 'what are your orders?'

The general mused for a moment before replying, 'I want you to accompany this woman and her associates, you are the Imperial representative in this affair. I want this new threat dealt with but I won't have acts against the Empire, you're responsible for ensuring that the mission is carried out as such, am I clear Tacitus?'

'Yes sir, understood' replied Tacitus sheathing his gladius at his side again. He turned to appraise several figures who were now entering the room. They didn't look like much, but then again there weren't many people signing up to throw themselves at dragons. Great he thought to himself damned to die far away from home, against a threat that we should've seen coming, alongside, miscreants and the curs I've been hunting for years.
@Leoven So when are we looking to start exactly?
Brian Maxwell

Brian's chauffeur opened the door of the sleek black limousine as it sat in the drive outside the restaurant. Brian stepped out into the cold night air cane in one hand, hat in the other. With one fluid motion he rested the hat on his head before checking his suit.

'How do I look Marc?' he asked his driver, his strong south-English accent making him stand out amongst the half-dozen American diners coming and going from the restaurant's entrance.

'Most excellent sir' replied Marc nodding his head and shutting the door to the car as he did so.
'Now you're not just saying that because I sign your pay cheques now are you?' Brian laughed.
'Of course not sir' Marc replied jovially, 'any idea when you'll want me to bring the car back around?'
'I'm afraid not Marc, I'll make sure to give you plenty of notice.'
'Alright sir' said Marc getting back behind the wheel of the limousine, 'oh and good luck sir.'

With that the limousine drove away leaving Brian stood outside the restaurant quite alone. He was well dressed, maybe a little too well dressed, but he always preferred being over dressed to being under dressed. He walked up to the front door of the restaurant, the marble steps leading to the front door evoked a triple clack as he walked, his shoes and cane clicking smartly as he walked.

Once inside Brian admired the décor. The room was dark; reds, blacks and golds seemed to make up most of the colour palette, with the odd dash of white thrown in here and there for good measure. Ornate lights hung from above most of the tables, around which all manner of well dressed people were laughing and chatting quite at their ease.

A waiter came up to Brian, who'd been stood in the entry way for at least a good minute by this point. 'Can I help you sir?' he inquired, the drawl of his American accent snapping Brian back to the moment at hand.
'Yes err yes,' replied Brian trying to regain some composure 'I'm looking for someone, name of Arna I was hoping you could check the booking for me?'
'I am sorry sir but we don't go giving out the details of our Patrons, that's just our policy...' the man stopped talking as Brian held up his wrist and showed him the ink. The man's face distorted for a second as he considered his options.
'Alright sir, I think I can make an exception if that's the case. Let me check the records for you.'
'Thank you' replied Brian nodding his head and following the waiter to a small podium atop which was a booking ledger.

Whilst the waiter flicked through the pages of the ledger Brian looked over the guests again. With a thought he activated the binary interface chip and suddenly a swarm of data swam inside his head. Text messages, emails, photos and more flowed around him. He sifted through it trying to find what he was looking for. He knew what she looked like of course, a man with his resources and his determination it'd be more exceptional if he didn't know. As he picked through the data he found what he was looking for, a photo that matched what he already had stored away. Definitely here then he thought to himself.
'Here we are sir' remarked the waiter snapping Brian out his thoughts once again, 'She's at a table upstairs would like me to?'
'Can you get me a table on the same floor?' replied Brian as calmly as he could manage, 'Oh and send over a konyak if you would' the request added as what seemed a prudent after thought.
'Err yes sir um if you'd like to follow me please' the waiter took a menu from the podium and led Brian up a flight of wooden stairs. The decor of the second floor matched that of the downstairs. Brian followed the waiter his eyes fixed on the man's course through the chairs and tables. He only looked away once, and that was when he saw her in person for the first time. A small blonde haired woman elegantly dressed sat with what Brian assumed to be her mother. He averted his gaze lest people thought he was staring and sat down at the table the waiter had led him to. Taking the menu and laying it on the table he took a slender black notebook from inside his jacket and unclipped a silver fountain pen from his front pocket. He tore a page from the note book scribbling on it before handing it to the waiter. He took a $20 from his jacket pocket handing it to the waiter after he looked confused by the note. 'Please give that to Mrs Arna, there's a good chap' he said by means of an explanation. The waiter pocketed the bill before folding and placing the note in his top pocket.
'Of course sir' he nodded, 'I'll have someone bring your drink over.'
'Make that two' replied Brian.
'Of course sir' smiled the waiter walking over to one his fellows. He pointed back to Brian and then nodded before walking over to Arna's table. When he got there he took the note from his pocket and handed it to her, before pointing back to Brian. Brian felt a sharp stinging in his wrist and he glared at it for a moment. Before accepting a pair of glasses offered to him by a waiter. He picked up one glass as he recalled what he'd written on the note, Check the ink, Brian.
@Leoven I can lend a hand with lore if you need help there, I've lost too many hours examining elder scrolls lore, be nice if it were actually of use to someone. Just a heads up though my knowledge mainly covers Skyrim, I know a bit here and there for the other games but that's the one I've got the most data on.
@Silent Observer Okay sure thing, I wasn't quite sure what to put when I wrote the character and didn't really have the time to ponder. Now I've got a bit more time shouldn't be a problem to add it in.

As for Shadowrun no, never heard of it.
@Ace of flames01 I'll wait and see if I get approved and drop 'em a message then.
@Ace of flames01 I can easily have Brian fill that assassin role if you think that'd work. I mean he generally works as an infiltrator with his position as a company founder and CEO acting as an effective cover for his own private interests.

I had a look at the post preceding mine regarding those who are yet to find pairings. From the characters presented Arna seemed like a good match for Brian but I don't know how you sort the matches here so I shall wait to hear more.
