Feel free to take a look. I am 45 (Yes I know I am older than most). I have been happily married for 24 years. I have two gremlins. I love to read. We started a YouTube channel to share our randomness.

I think this is a good place to end the meeting unless you can think of something else.
Roxy nodded. She could handle most of get to know you questions. She was sure they would start with the basics question. Those wouldn't be a problem. At least she didn't think they would be. She would do her best to answer them. It was important to make Jess feel as comfortable as possible. The more comfortable the empath was the better the bubble would protect her.

"Sure. I can teach you a few things." It wasn't likely that the other woman would ever use them. It would be a long time before Jess was far enough away to have to defend herself but Roxy understood how knowing that she could defend herself would help Jess feel more confident.

"I don't know what kind of activities you enjoy so I really don't know what I want to try. I guess that is something that we will have to figure out when we go through the questions." Roxy shrugged. She figured since self defense was her 'activity' the other one should be something Jess liked to do.
"So you gave up." Roxy stated as she continued her inventory. She couldn't imagine accepting having no choice. She had fought her whole life to have choices. She refused to accept the path set for her. But she knew her experience wasn't the same as other people's. It was possible that Devika had a valid reason for not wanting to think about the what ifs. "You could start a blog or a channel on going from isolation to normal life. Theh might have been done but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. Your experience isn't the same as someone else's." She looked at the other woman when Devika asked her about the shop. "Yes this is something that I've always wanted."

"I doubt you would find it very interesting. Have you ever thought about what you would want to do once you returned to society?" Roxy asked as she made her way to the inventory wall. She climbed onto a ladder to reach the top bins. Surely Devika had something she wanted to do. Didn't everyone have a dream or goal. Whatever it was that the other woman had wanted to do was now possible. Roxy's only goal had been a free independent life. Which she sort of had. She knew that having an anchor would endanger the life she had built. She expected one of her father's men to show up any minute to make demands. Maybe by keeping the shop closed they could put that off a few days but she doubted it.

"I understand. Asking personal questions to a stranger is hard but it's the best way to get to get to know each other. I can write questions for you. Some will be simple, like what is your favorite color. Others will be more personal. If you can build a friendship living together will be easier." Laura adviced. She noted how stiff Roxy was. She wondered what caused it but didn't push. There was time to get to that.

Roxy shrugged. "If you want to. You just have to tell me what your comfortable learning?"

"What kind of training?" Laura asked. She could think of several that could help.

"I practice self defense and some martial arts." Roxy answered without hesitation. Lots of woman learned self defense now days. There was no reason not to tell the counselor.

"Do you feel that you need to protect yourself now that you didn't feel before you lived in isolation Jess?" Laura asked

Roxy wasn't used to people taking care of her. Having Devika do so make her uncomfortable. She pushed the feeling aside as she headed to the door that would lead them downstairs. "You don't have to work in the shop if you don't want to. But you will have to be down there. At least until our connection is strong enough for you to be further way." Which might take awhile considering that the empath was picking up some of her emotions.

The shop had two sides. The right was a waiting area. It had four chairs, a coffee table with magazines, a soda and vending machine. There was also a desk with a computer and chair. One the other side was two bays. One wall was covered with floor to ceiling bins of different sized. The other wall had pegs that held tools. "I'm not going to open the doors today. I planned the next few days to be catch up days."
"There are lots of ways you can build on the connection you have. The question is what would work the best for the two of you." Laura explained. She considered what she knew. There were all kinds of activities that could help them get closer. The problem she saw was that the empath was more open than the anchor. It wasn't unusual. Anchors had to adjust their lives to make room for the empath and that wasn't always easy. Especially if the anchor had built a life.

"I would suggest doing one activity together each week. Take turns choosing the activity. That should help you see what you had in common. That will help you feel closer. Also I will give you a bowl full of questions. Each day I want you to take out one. You both answer the question as honestly as possible." The counselor told them. Roxy wasn't sure about the last one. Sharing wasn't something she had ever done and there were some things she didn't want to share.
